3 Caballeros, 11 nights, 4 parks, 1 world & lots of PICS!!!!

Hard to say :confused3. A lot of the UK airports that had hoped to open, didn't and won't til 1am at earliest. Others that did have closed again. We've still got a few days but for every piece of good news about weather changes or lava not ash or safe to fly, there is a contradicting piece of bad news. I'm so confused and stressed it's unbelievable. Last night it was all positive and I started trying to reorganise things. 3 hours later the doom and gloom came back, so I stopped :sad2:[. It's soooo frustrating :headache:.

Last night in my replanning I managed to get a fantasmic package again, at Melrose on 30th (2pm). Then this morning I saw a Chef Mickey's space so grabbed it before realising it's also 30th at 7am . I've also got an early lunch at Park Fare that day...which I'm gonna cancel :rotfl:. Now I have to decide/see if we can do the two meals in one day or whether to cancel one in hopes of getting another chance.

I can't imagine how stressful it must be.

I think CM and Melrose will be too much for one day but I would keep them both until another CM slot opens up or until you have time to think about it. It really depends on how much you want to eat at both those places. :confused3 I would try both a party of 3 and 4 when using the reservation system. I know other people have had luck doing that. From what I understand, it will not be a problem when you get to the resturant.

Good luck!

Oh now that's an interesting tip, thank you!

Btw, latest news - reopening UK airports from ten tonight with new 'tolerance' levels due to new tests and assessments. :cool1: Actually in happy tears! Just need the volcano to stay quiet (or at least non ashy) and weather to be nice to us now!

Well it's looking promising *touch wood* for our flight in just under 36 hours. So hopefully we'll get to go on our rebook! I'm busy making new meal invites (need one for mama melrose fantasmic). Oh and I managed to get a Tusker safari...not sure if I said. So I'm just missing the princess ones now. And a fabulous disser even managed to double check our flights and seats for us through her work :woohoo:

Thanks for all the support.

Thats great. I was thinking of you today. I had read that flights were now running again and hoped yours was one of them. Have fun!

Thanks hun. I'll keep you posted. Hoping I can get online on my phone at the airport...fingers crossed. Online check-in went ok this morning, or seemed too.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! Thanks to a diser, I just got Cinderella's Royal Table for 10am on our last morning. We have to check in at 2pm, so assume Magic Express is about 1. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!

28th - AK (meal at Boma at 8:30pm)
29th - Chill day (at mo), lunch at T-Rex at 12:30, so prob DTD day
30th - BUSY day. Chef Mickey's at 7am , then to HS, lunch Mama
Melrose (Fantasmic) at 2pm. Fantasmic that evening
1st - AK (breakfast at Donald's at 9:25am)

:banana::banana::banana:

Your new schedule looks great! I'm so glad you got CRT the last day of your trip. What a wonderful way to end a great vacation!

I hope all your troubles are behind you now. Enjoy your trip and I can't wait to hear all the details when you return. :)

Did you make it back? I can't wait to hear about it. I heard that flights are being canceled still because of that dang Volcano.

I was wondering too...did you make it back?!?!?!?!?!

Can't wait to hear about your trip!

Hi guys

REALLY sorry I've not posted anything since I got back. Did make it back safe and sound (despite some horrible turbulance on the first flight home). Just been crazy busy since - we've been short at work etc and then I've just got back from a Disney Ambassador trip down to the cruise ship Magic. Nope we didn't get to sail but we did get a tour etc. I'm just waiting for my photopass pics and I'll start writing it up.

Oh, that is after I do the quiz next week. We do an annual European Disney Store trivia comp (REALLY hard). I've won the store level last three years and last year I also won district and missed country by just one point *groan* so I've gotta do some last minute cramming to try to get the store level (tough competition in my year). TO give you an idea one tie-breaker was "take the number of countries at EPCOT, times it by donald's nephews and add it to the release date of Peter Pan" and another was "name the nine wise men" LOL.

ANyway, I haven't forgotten and I'm grateful for the interest and all the support I had. Write up will come asap.

xxxxx

Glad you made it back OK. Can't wait to read about it
I remember that contest last year! :)

I've just been looking and I can't currently find the link - but I'll try again later. Anyway, last night someone posted a link to a Tom Sawyer's Island Scavenger Hunt. It was so cute that I decided to include it. I'm not sure if we'll get to the Island but just incase....

It's same size as my EPCOT passport and is also printed on cardstock. I'm not looking to put a plastic cover on it at this time cause it's only really two pages stuck together. Anyway, I adapted it to the small size and into a book and, even if I do say so myself, I think it looks great:

The pages to print, if anyone wants to are:

Boys cover:

Well, I'm still going. So I'll post more as I make it. Addict? A little LOL but I'm having fun

Thank you! I love this. I hadn't seen anything like it yet and I just love the size. :thumbsup2

Well, I won the store level and have done the district one (waiting to hear whether I won that...so fingers crossed for me guys). In case anyone is interested, I thought I'd post the district level one...remember we have 30mins and no access to anything to help.

Some of you will probably find it really easy but I thought it was quite hard. The problem is that it's hard to revise because they can ask just about anything. Oh well :)

Ok...so this may take me a while to do, but here goes with the (very delayed) Trippie....

Saturday April 24th...

To say that we were 'concerned' about whether we'd fly or not would probably be the understatement of the century :) After all the hassles with the volcano I don't think we really allowed ourselves to get excited the whole way to the airport.

Jenni had come to mine the night before where we did the extremely 'undisney' thing of watching 'Anastasia'. I know, I know, we should have been watching Disney but she's been trying to get me to watch that movie for 2 years :rotfl:. It was alright...not Disney but cute.

Anyway, neither of us slept much so we were a little sleepy as my father drove us to the airport. Andy's partner was driving him (too many cases in one car :) ) so we met at the check-in desk queue. The holiday kinda started off as it was due to continue...the security lady looked at our passports while we were waiting and exclaimed in what can only be described as genuine shock "You're Japanese?" to Jenni  After exchanging baffled looks she answered a simple "Yes" and the woman walked off :rotfl2:

Check-in itself was pretty easy (considering the volcano problems) and we did smile slightly at the fact we had to change flights because the queue for Virgin was sooooooooooooooooooo long, where as ours was really short. With check-in done we finally allowed ourselves to think we MIGHT actually get to Orlando.

The Prince Charming figure that Jenni is holding is to represents our friend Liam.

He's a fellow cm and truely is Prince Charming! Jenni and he have a running joke that they are married (longish story) but he told her he couldn't believe we were going without him, so we brought him along...kinda ;)

As boarding got near, I decided to take a tablet - I've become a nervous flyer over the last few years (mostly due to some bad turbulance flights) so I thought I'd try it. Within 5 mins, this is how tired I looked LOL

P4240003.jpg

Our flight to Philly was good - no probs at all and because Jenni and I were talking so much we only got through 2 movies (VERY unusual for me). Our change over in Philly was easy and thanks to help from a kind fellow Disney fan we managed to get great seats together on our flight from Philly to Orlando. They were quiet and comfy and right behind first class.

Anyway, there isn't a lot to say. We got to hotel just fine. I chatted to a lovely American gentleman the whole Magical Express trip, while the others watched the video.

We were a little late getting in and getting through baggage claim etc (delays on the baggage) so it was dark when we got to POP. However, check-in at the hotel was easy and we ended up with one of the new rooms in the 90s building (as requested). It was lovely but Andy was FAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR too excited and insisted we run down to Everything POP for a shopping spree :thumbsup2

We spent a mini-fortune but I did get the main things I had planned to get before flying (wooden frame, photograph album and dated Mickey ornament). It was Andy and my birthday so I opened my cards when we got back to the room and put them on the sidetable. He'd done his back in England. I did however give them all the things I'd made...which they LOVED :)

Feeling kinda shattered, we went to bed. I had to take a photo of this Disney moment though - Andy, with his newly purchased Mickey and a guide to magic kingdom in his hands LOL

Sunday morning was cloudy but dry and warm (about mid 80s). We got up early but took ages getting ready so we didn't get down to breakfast until mid-morning. On the way we decided to look around the hotel - oh ok, we got a bit lost but it gave us a chance to look.

P4250010.jpg

yes, even with the map we got lost

P4250011.jpg

but it gave us a chance to play

This was Andy's first ever morning in the USA and only Jenni's second trip (she'd been to Utah before)
For those of you who haven't stayed in POP, it's a LOT of fun - big, bright, vibrant things all over. We were near the computer pool but these were on the walk to the main hall.

Breakfast (yep, I had pancakes...gotta do it) gave us a quote that became a catchphrase for the entire holiday. While Jenni and Andy were buying food, a man who was the spitting image of Abraham Lincoln got confused by the Resort cup purchase thing. He said in a lovely southern US accent "Fourteen dollars for a coffee?". You probably had to be there to find it funny but the accent with the look and the quote was quite amusing and I think it took the others half an hour to stop laughing. Anyone else saying it...not funny...Abe Lincoln? Hilarious!

I love the update. Yay you made it! Andy looks just like a kid in bed! :wizard: How long was your flights? I know that would be so hard on a person. the new refurb looks great.

I knew some of the answers to your quiz, but with pressure, it would be hard to get them very fast. :cool2:
