We have a 2 park 1-day pass and our kids are mostly interested in all things Harry Potter. Everything else is just whatever to them. We're going to start at IOA and then go to Universal and then back to IOA for the last few hours (we're going on a HHN evening and since the train ride is different both ways we figured we should ride both ways.) Anyway which HP restaurant is better? I read they're both quick service so does it matter? Is one REALLY better than the other? Thanks

Nope. One isn't REALLY better than the other. They are both good. And you and your kids will enjoy either one.

Perhaps check the menu and see if anything jumps out at you - then go there. Otherwise you can just toss a coin and you'll be glad however it falls.

I eat at both and enjoy both. I would go by the menus also, but at Leaky Cauldron you order, are seated, and they bring you the food. At 3 Broomsticks you have to wait for it yourself at a separate counter.

Not sure how old your kids are, the Leaky Cauldron seating area is a very close replica of the scene in Prisoner of Azkaban movie where Mr Weasley is telling Harry about being in danger from Sirius Black. You can also pop into the Hogshead to see the animatronic hog head over the bar,

As others have mentioned it's up to personal preference but my family prefers 3 Broomsticks. The family feast is consistently good and also a good value. Every time we've eaten at Leaky Cauldron, it's just been okay, but honestly their cuisine just isn't my type of food. Unrelated to food quality, but Hagrids is directly across from 3 Broomsticks and the wait time tends to dip around mealtimes. So with a little luck and good timing, you could bolt for the line if the wait time does happen to drop.

They're both tasty - which menu appeals more?

Also just be aware that the waits for the Hogwarts Express back to IoA in the afternoon on HHN days can be very long.
