3/7/09 Western Caribbean - Meet Information

Just Booked this cruise! Going with my DM, DD, DS and DSBF. Only a few Weeks away!!!! Get excited and bring your dancing shoes everyone!!!!!

Just booked as well... We are very excited to be going.

:welcome: Welcome Aboard!

Just under 2 months left to go. Now that all of the Xmas stuff is put away, I can start concentrating on the cruise. I started printing out my magnets yesterday. I've decided to do shirts for myself, my DD, my DNW and DNDD2. Hopefully that will come out alright.

Do any of you happen to have an 8 year old girl traveling in your party?

I got really carried away with the shirt making! I think I have made over a dozen now for my 3 grandsons--and as birthday gifts for 2 of their friends who are not cruising but like Disney and Star Wars designs from the DIS boards anyway. They turned out so cute I just couldn't stop! I've done a couple of magnets so far and I'm not getting carried away doing them. (I will not get carried away...I will not get carried away!) Since our group has four cabins, I thought one on each cabin door would be sufficient.
I'm counting down the days now! Shari

45 more days and we'll be on the ship!

Are any of you planning on having fish extenders? I know a lot of DIS groups create and plan a list of cruisers with fish extenders so everyone will be included. Anyone interested in participating?

l think we will be joining you!

We are a family of 5 and our friends- a family of 4 - are also serious about going. I'll keep you posted...and update ASAP!

last time that I talked to Disney they said that our cruise was only about 60% full.. that would be nice if it stays like that :) it would be a nice relaxing trip!!!

That doesn't surprise me considering cruise rates have stayed the same and there are still space available in just about every category. Yes, a little less full ship would be nice.

wow - not a full ship would be nice! ::yes:: Actually we're hoping for an upgrade (we're willing to pay for it) but our TA had to put us on a waitlist. We're Cat. 6 right now, thinking of trying out a suite if one becomes available:scratchin

Does anyone know (or know where to get) the prices for room service beverages, such as wine and the 24-pk of water. We're travelling with a 5-month old and thought bottled water would be best to make her bottles. Alternately, thinking of using the water from the drink station - anyone travelled with such a young'n before??:confused3 Tips would be welcome:)

Also - does anyone know what movies will be showing onboard??:confused3

MTH -

You can buy a case of Evian water for $35 dollars once you board. They will deliver a case to your stateroom. There are stations everywhere once you board to sign up. However, the water on the ship is purified almost better than bottled water. Don't know about the wine package, sorry.

The latest Disney releases will be shown. I imagine you can see Bolt, Jo Bros Movie, and Wall-E.

Just 5 more weeks to go!!!

The water that you get at dinner and everywhere else for that matter, unless it is bottled, is from the cruise line "tap". I also think that they can store water on the ship. They are not taking it from the ocean and cleaning it.

We are very excited to escape the Alaska winter. Our party consists of 3 families (18 people) from Anchorage. The kids are counting down the days.

:welcome: Welcome aboard. Boy, you aren't kidding you're going to be escaping the cold.

Do you happen to be traveling with any 8 year old girls?

Actually they are taking water from the ocean and cleaning it. All cruise ships use desalinization and purification systems for their onboard water. But the water is incredibly safe to drink and the safety of the water is one of the parts of the ship inspected by US authorities.

we have always drank the water on the ship. I figure the ice cubes are made from that water, too, so what the hey!

Hi everyone
This is our first disney cruise. I have heard some chatter about upgrades and any of the veterans provide more details on this.

Cheers, :cool1:

Hi, welcome aboard.

Upgrades are a mysterious thing. About 30 days before sail date DCL starts fulfilling guarantee reservations. In order to get them all filled, some people may get an upgrade, others may not. There is no special formula or rhyme or reason to how upgrades are given.

I usually select a room that I will be happy in so I don't have to count on getting an upgrade. However, if the ship is not full, there may be upgrade opportunities available at check in for a discounted rate.

So since we are within a month of the cruise now, I was just wondering if anybody is interested in setting up a DIS meet. There aren't that many of us, but it would still be a good time. Good meet times are always 2:30-3pm the first day or 10-11am Key West day since we don't get into port till later.
