3/7/09 Western Caribbean - Meet Information

Sounds like a good idea. It's fun to be able to put a face to a name and be able to say hi to somebody you know during the cruise.

Last year, we did our DIS meet at 3:00 on Saturday at the Promenade Lounge on deck 3. We just met and said hello for a few minutes before the drill.

We are coming too! (Dh, myself, 4 children: ds (15), ds (12) ds (8) and dd (7) with another friend with her two boys (ds (15) and ds (12). We are coming from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

It's all of our first time on a disney cruise! I hope it isn't too full!!

We are going to by van to cape Canaveral. What time is best to arrive and bet the rush??

Woo hoo! Just booked last night :)

Now how am I supposed to survive the next 24 days?? :)

That sounds like a good idea to me. Our neighbors cruise docs just came in today :cool1: so it looks like they should be slowly making their way to everyone.

Not yet. I think they'll probabaly come in next week. I have to go to my TA to pick them up when they do arrive.

Hey drifter, how are all of the door magnets coming? I went so overboard (no pun intended). My DH just looks at me and rolls his eyes. Oh well, they're big doors, right? :rolleyes1

Hey Gang!

I will be onboard as well. This will be my 41st cruise and my 2nd on Disney. Was on Disney Wonder a couple of years ago and had a blast. Am looking forward to spending a whole week onboard. Three nights wasn't long enough.

Let me know if you have a meet and greet planned. Would be foun to meet and put faces to names.

Rob

Rob, welcome aboard!

Splash and I have been throwing around the idea of a possible DIS meet on Saturday at 3:00 PM in the Promenade Lounge. Nothing fancy, just a meet and greet.

I can't believe this is in less than a month. Our group finished our door magnets today :-). Well mostly finished. Still waiting on those documents. My in-laws came to the house yesterday but not ours :-(

Looks like our date isn't full. I was playing around on DCL.com and found availability for every stateroom category. :yay:

on the CM site this is one of the cruises that you can get a great rate on..

what is the CM site? We have friends who are thinking of coming along.....

The CM site is the website for Disney cast members with various discounts such as DCL. Welcome to everyone who has just joined. Our cruise docs came yesterday :cool1:. Can't believe its only 21 days.

Yep, the CM site is called the Hub and we go there to get ALL the information that we need... like when we are working, to pick up extra hours, see what is going on around all the Disney Parks and there is also a place where you can get discounts cruises and hotels. You have to be a CM to get onto the site. It was part of your training to get a name and password.

But because I am doing it that way I have not received any of my documents yet... Hopefully they will come soon.

Hi Wendy & all,
I've only made one magnet for each door, but I'm thinking of getting more magnet paper this week. I went overboard on the tee shirts though! You all will be able to see us coming! My daughter-in-law and I just finished tie-dye tees with a Mikey head on the front for our whole group of 12. If you see us around, stop & say "I read about you on the internet." My husband will love it. LOL. And my 3 grandsons each have plenty of iron-on tees with their names & Disney characters. It's been a fun way to prepare for the cruise!
I see all of the tickers are saying 19 days this morning! We're still waiting for docs. Guess I'll have to make more magnets to fill up the time til they arrive. :rotfl2: Shari

:laundy:

Hi! Today I am getting ready for the March 7th cruise. My husband and I can't wait!

I'm a CM from New York and NEVER been on a Disney Cruise before!

We booked this cruise on Feb. 6 for our VERY FIRST cruise!! I pinch myself every day to realize that my very first cruise is a DISNEY cruise! It's just my husband and myself, as we are sort of empty nesters (youngest is at college). The Michigan winter has been long and dreary, and we're ready for some sun and warmth. I'd love to meet up with you all!

Do you all book shore excursions? Or do you play it by ear? We figure we can just wander and have fun in Key West, but we don't know what to do about Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Any suggestions?

See you soon!

Jan

hi! We are not taking the excursions from Cruise. I researched on internet and have some in mind from each port. It's cheaper to do on your own. Disney will send you a book with all excusions or you can see them online what's offered on each stop. We are probably going to Stingray City in Grand Cayman and Swim with Dolphins in Cozumel along with shopping and beach time in each location! Hope this helps.....

We have booked Stingray City in Grand Cayman on our own before, too. We went with Capt. Marvin. We enjoyed that.
In Cozumel we are taking the ship's excursion to Tulum.
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 is my favorite place to do research on the ports.
We got our docs yesterday, so we are doing the doc dance today! :yay: :cool1: So excited!
