We are traveling with two other families to WDW and will be there 5nights 6days. Each family has a 3 year old We are putting together an itenerary for our vacation, and have come across a dilemma. Should we forget about Epcot since it is not very young kid friendly and we just don't think they would get it. What would you all do who have young children. As of now we are thinking 1 day AK, 2 1/2 days MK, 1 1/2 day MGM and a free day of whatever. Would love to hear your opinions, especially on leaving Epcot out of the picture until they are older.

Don't forget they do have all the KidCot's in each country where they can do crafts. Also, they have that area where the water shoots up, kind of by Innoventions. Kids love that. Plus, Epcot has been teeming with characters. :)

Please don't forgo Epcot. The kidcot stations are great. Turtle talk with Crush is awsome. The kids also loved just people watching.

I forgot about Turtle Talk! How could I? It's amazing! LoL. I was truly amazed by that. :)

Turtle Talk is amazing, and the Kidcot stations in the world showcase were great, the kids will look forward to going through the countries while it gives the adults a chance to look around too.

In all honesty, did your 3year olds participate in the kidscrafts at each of the countries? I would love to know.

Sorry, I'm only 22! No kids for me yet! But honestly, everytime I walk by a KidCot station there are always lots of on the younger side kids. I'd say 3/4/5. It's great that Disney came up with a way to incorporate the kids with the countries. Also, the characters! France has B&theB and Aurora, UK has Pooh and Friends, Morocco has Aladdin and Jasmine. All that is enough to go. Plus, they also might enjoy the Jammitors. They're fun. And if you want them to go to sleep, take them on the Universe of Energy. :rotfl: J/K!

Yes, go to epcot (IMO). There are great water fountains (not the drinking from kind) - Living seas is perfect. Maybe have a character lunch there.

My 3 yo thought the escalator in "The Land" was a ride. He's 6 now and has never been interested in the kidcot stations.

Each park offers a different opportunity to enjoy your kids at a different age.

We were just there with DD 6, DS 4 and DS2 1/2. The baby slept through most of epcot and to be honest while the Kidcot stations thrilled my oldest and entertained my DS 4, my DS 2 1/2 liked it for a few minutes and then mostly loved having a mask on a long stick to hit people with :rotfl2: Who thought it was a ogod idea to supply small children with a stick at Disney :scratchin

If I were you, I'd spend an afternoon/evening at Epcot, walking around, playing at the shop in UK with the thomas Trains (this was my little ones highlight - never mind we have them at home) and soaking up the atmosphere. It was a great place to have dinner, and then watch Illuminations while the little ones slept.

Have fun whatever you decide

I have a 3 year old. She's been to WDW 5 trips/weeks so far, and all of the visits involved at least half the trip at Epcot. My DS is 7 and has been to WDW 10 times. His favorite park is Epcot.

There is SO much to see and do there for tots. Don't let the "fanciness" of it fool you. My DD loves the Chinese acrobats, Off Kilter (musicians in Canada), of course FIGMENT!!!, characters are easy to find in the countries - Belle, Mulan, Jasmine, etc. I could go on and on. Kidcots are also fun. My kids enjoy the mask collection in the countries much more than the future world collection.

Also, even though the food is not the absolute best meal you'll have at WDW, if you can, plan to eat at the Biergarten. The children can dance on the dance floor to the Oompa band while you eat. Very entertaining, and one of the few times you'll be able to eat a meal in peace!

My kids participated in most of the crafts. It was fun for them but, not the highlight of our trip by any means. My dd3 was afraid of most everything in FW. She didn't like Figment or anything leading up to the queue. She didn't like the darkness, loudness, nor the glowing effects. She thought she was going to "catch fire" at Illuminations...dh had to leave with her. Turtle Talk and Ice Station Cool were the highlights of Epcot for my 2 youngest.

My little ones are usually miserable at Epcot but, we're going to try it again this year. If they get tired of it, I'll just take them to another park while dd9 and dh enjoy the bigger attractions. I think we'll stick to FW, though. My dd is a little braver this year so, maybe she'll like it better. I hope.
