I was just reading about this! Apparently Apple podcast doesn’t host or store your content, you have your own hosting site, you set up with Apple a permanent RSS feed link and once every day (or whatever) Apple Podcast does a check to see if there has been any changes to your feed. The other services run updates off Apple’s updates. Apple could check 5 minutes later or 2 days.
I have always wondered why they don’t pre-load the prerecorded content to compensate for the audio delays and so it goes up on the right day. But it seems like once it’s loaded to your host it’s fair game, so Apple could technically sweep through 5 minutes later, publish it a day early and undercut your YT views.
I am sure that’s not exactly right, so can someone with experience explain it to me? I am interested in the technology side of how this works with Apple, my mind is a little blown here since I didn’t realize the extra steps.
