3/26/09 3 night Wonder. Meet on deck near the Mickey pool on Friday at 4:30pm.

iluvjimmy,
Yes, she is a social butterfly and I know she is going to love it! Are your boys excited? I didn't realize that we only have 7 more weeks. I can hardly wait! We booked a cat. 12 and have not received a room assignment yet. I wonder when we will get it.:cheer2:

I don't like the idea of putting my DD is a daycare situation on vacation either, but then my TA pointed out the fact that my DD needs a vacation too. It never dawned on me that she would want to spend time away from us. when I told her about how they dance with snow white, play dress up, put on shows and learn how to be a mouseketeer, she asked me if she could stay there forever. It kinda hurt my feelings, I mean c'mon I'm fun too.

Hi Lex! Welcome to the cruise! My aunt the travel agent says we'll get our cabin assignments about a month before we sail, so be looking for stuff toward the end of Feb. We also booked a category 12, and are hoping for a bump since there's 4 of us (sorry, both older boys).

Erin

Erin,
Thanks for the info. about when we will get our cabin assignments. O'kay since we only have 3 in our cabin do you think there is any chance of us getting an upgrade? That would be awesome! I need a little pixiedust. pixiedust:

Hey guys...I think your kids won't feel like they are being left in daycare. My kids absolutely loved the clubs on our last cruise and usually got upset when we came back to get them. The team in the clubs are great! They have continuous activities for the kids that are age appropriate as well as every video game system available. This is where my kids feel in love with the Wii (2 years ago). They also get to experience things like touring the Captains deck and meeting characters. The counselors don't hesitate paging you if there is a problem. They also make great friends! Enjoy your planning.. BTW.. Has anyone booked excursions in Nassau? Just curious what everyone else is doing. I think we may just take the water taxi to Atlantis and tour the Dig..and maybe do a little shoppping!

For Nassau, I planned on taking a taxi to Atlantis too. Either that, or stay on the ship and get a massage!!!!

Hi -- we booked the glass bottom boat tour on Nassau (early one), and then plan to take a taxi over to Atlantis. We did this five years ago on a different cruise -- it's much cheaper to just take a taxi from the dock and they're easy to get in Atlantis (rather than book something, unless you're doing something extra with it). If you haven't been there before, the front door dumps you almost immediately into the casino (in case you're missing your dose of slots on the non-gambling Disney ship...). I don't think we're going to book anything ahead of time for Castaway Cay -- veterans, does anything sell out? I don't think we'd do any of the watercraft, maybe just snorkeling -- kind of depends on hubby's job situation at the time (company rapidly going under) and the overwhelming child whining factor.

You will fine not booking anything at Castaway Cay. Last cruise my husband and 4 yo(at the time) did the Catamaran Scuba trip and had a great time. This time we are going to do the Stingray feeding excursion. I think the kids will really like it!

I think my DD will get a big kick out of the beach at Castaway Cay. she has never seen one before and she keeps asking me when she can make sandcastles. Does disney supply shoves and buckets? I am already renting some stuff for us to float on. I hope the water is warm enough.

Hey y'all! just check our sail dates and Disney must be getting desperate. They just reopened categories 12,11, and 10. Some of us being families of 3, I think if we booked a category 12, we have a very good chance of getting an upgrade.

Hi all! We are on the cruise too! My boys are 5 & 9 and LOVE the kids clubs!
We will be at WDW from Sat-Tue, then Cocoa Beach & Kennedy Space Center on Weds.

Has a dis meet been planned? I tried to read through all the posts & didn't see anything?

Happy planning!! :cool1:

When exactly would be a good time to meet? I am trying to envision it. I don't think I'll be on board until after 1pm because I'm taking the disney transer from WDW and I think they said they usually pick up at the resort between noon and 12:30. Do we have an expert among us who can suggest a good place to meet and when?

as a side note, I am a huge move fan. Every year, my BFF and I see all the academy award best picture nominees in one day. Today we went and saw the Wrestler. Not a best picture nominee, but nominated for best actor and best supporting actress. We thought the movie was great and depressing. Micky Rourke was fabulous. We could not believe how good he was. Any one else out there a movie geek like me? as time progresses I'll keep you up to date on my movie reviews and then eventually pick a winner!

I saw Revolutionary Road and Slumdog Millionaire last week.

Rev Rd was too sad...
Slumdog was terrific!
Benjamin Button was also very good, we saw two weeks ago.

I might see Milk this week, not sure yet.

Happy movie going! :goodvibes

Oh, I forgot about the Dis Meet... I agree, I was trying to think of when would be an appropriate time to meet & I'm so unsure of our plans...

We don't plan on leaving the ship on Nassau day, but we are probably in the minority.

When is the "Safety Drill" like 3:30? Then the party starts right after that, right?

Maybe 2-3pm somewhere? But, my kids might be swimming...see the problem!

Any other veterans out there?? :confused3

We will figure out something. :thumbsup2

Speaking of movies...I am looking forward to finding out what movies are playing on our cruise. I tried to call the phone number once that tells you, but I got tired of being on hold. I guess I'll just wait a little longer. Unless anyone here knows. :happytv:

Does anyone know if you can rent prescription glass snorkel masks at Castaway Cay? We were on another cruise line with a private island, and they had prescription lens masks, which was terrific for my family, since we all wear glasses (oldest son wears contacts, so he's ok).

I'm up for a DIS meet if we can figure it out -- what does everybody have for dining? We're first seating -- maybe if we're all first we can meet half an hour before dinner one night?

- Erin:umbrella:

WE are first dining! That sounds good to me...maybe Friday night?

How about 'The Outlook' starting at 4:30pm on Friday? You can get a beer or drink there.

We have second dining. What time does the first show start? I forget. If that is before the first show then that is fine with me. popcorn::
