3/26/09 3 night Wonder. Meet on deck near the Mickey pool on Friday at 4:30pm.

Hi Diane! Welcome to the cruise. Looking forward to meeting you! Did you see the info above about our meet-up plans? Mickey pool Friday 4:30, bring lime-green ribbon or equivalent to identify yourself!

Erin

HI! :welcome:

My 5 yr old is named Max and my (now) 9 yr old is Gray

My boys won't be in the same kids club due to their ages, so if our two boys hit if off, that will be great! Max is very social! Both of them can't wait to go to the kids clubs. They have been to some at hotels before, and really like going.

We are planning on getting on board early Thursday. After lunch, we will probably go swimming and wander the decks checking it all out. My boys both wear long sleeve swim shirts. (it might help you spot us)

Happy planning!! :goodvibes

My sons name is matty and he is also very social. We hope to be on the ship by 1:00 thursday and enjoy the pool and whatever else we can find. I did see the note about meeting on friday by the pool. That sounds great. By the way, how did you find out your room number already? I called yesterday and they said i don't have one yet and probably won't until 14 days before the trip. Oh well!

I requested a specific room number when made my reservation. It's listed on my ressie.

Not sure how assigned room numbers would work. :confused3

Room numbers -- go to your reservation on disneycruise.com. That's how I checked mine. My travel agent aunt said they're usually out about 30 days ahead.

Erin

thanks for the info....i checked on the website and we have not been assigned a room number yet. Hopefully, within the next week or so.

Hey Everyone! Haven't been here in a while. We are really getting excited about this cruise...we are keeping it a secret for our children so it's been difficult to tame my excitement. We will be arriving in Fla. on my youngest sons 7th birthday. Our cabin is a category 10, secret porthole room;) Look forward to seeing all you Dis'ers on board.

How can you stand to keep it a secret? I am no fun. I totally told my DD right from the beginning. When do you plan to tell them? I wish I could be a fly on the wall!

When we went to disney this past november with my 5 year old son, we did not want to tell him until the day before b/c we had to cancel the trip once before and i did not want to disappoint him again. Then I came up with a great idea to surprise him. I went to a local card printing shop and picked out a blank card/invitation with a picture of mickey on it. Then I had them type up the following:
"Dear Matty, Your mom and dad called me and told me what a great job you are doing in kindergarten. They also told me about all the good choices you are making at home. I am so proud of you and I want you to come and visit me at disney today. So grab your suticase b/c your plane leaves at 8:30.
Love, Mickey"

We woke him up at 6:00 that morning and told him that the mailman just dropped off this letter that was addressed to him. We video taped him opening it and me reading it to him. The look of disbelief and amazment on his face that Mickey Mouse sent HIM a letter, was the most precious thing. If we had to do it all over again, I would not hesitate to do it the exact same way. My son even insisted on bringing the invititaion to disney so that when we meet mickey, he could thnk him for it!
It was not really hard keeping it from him b/c i know all i would hear for weeks was, when are we going?.....and I also knew that this surprise would be unlike any other. Not too many kids wake up in the morning and are told they are getting on a plane and going to disney?

Your story is precious. My DD marks her calendar everyday. Every night at bed time, she wants me to tell her a story about what we are going to do on our vacation.

I am in the shopping mode now getting ready for the cruise. Clothes, shampoo, etc. it is all fun to me.

Hi everyone! So, I asked about the schedule of events on the first day & the safety check is at 4pm and the sail away party is at 4:30.

Do you want to try a DIS Meet on Thursday, too? Maybe at 2:00 or 2:30 by the Mickey pool? I'll have my lime green ribbon!

I'm getting sooooo excited! I will be shopping this week too! Mama needs new clothes!

Happy planning & shopping!!

Hi! Maybe Thursday would work better than Friday, we wouldn't feel like we had to rush back from Nassau? And anyone who was available could get together again on Friday? I've been picking up all those little things -- but can't afford any new clothes for Mama after I buy the kids new clothes! And contacts, and recorking the saxophone, and tickets for the kid's play... everything hit TODAY! Let's hope I can afford meals at Disney... frankly, if we were starting to think about this today, we wouldn't be going -- hubby just got hit with a 10% pay cut, and the company isn't looking good -- could use some good thoughts going this way! I've been all over the budget board looking for ways to do this cheaper! At least food is included on the cruise...

Erin

(sorry, I'm feeling quite pinched today) :sad2:

Thursday would be great! that way the kids could meet each other. I was hoping especially to see Jen and her DD since I think they would hit it off.

shopping is on my mind too. I just made a list of what I needed to buy. since I'm doing WDW too, I need several things. It always adds up.

Great! Thursday it is! :cheer2: party:

If you all are making shopping lists, if you don't have swim shirts for your kids, you might want to consider one. The sun is so much stronger in the Caribbean. The swim shirts are really nice because you don't have to worry about re-applying sunscreen, everywhere, all the time. We actually have long-sleeve shirts & I love them!

Take care!

I will be there. Hoping the disney transfer from resort to port gets us there on time. I've heard sometimes it picks up as early as 11 and as late as 12:30 I might be late, but if I miss you all entirely which I doubt, I'm in room 6581.

You guys know what? I am totally confused on the pirate night thing. I think it's supposed to be on the second night, but there is no pirate menu? Do the kids dress up for dinner or after dinner? Help!

My understanding of the pirate night thing is that it's not at dinner, it's an on-deck party later that evening. On the longer cruises, they do a pirate dinner (since you've already been to all three restaurants, they can do something different in one of them). So if your kids WANT to dress as pirates for the meal, we would all think they were really cute, but they should be in their pirate costumes (and how sad am I that my kids think they're too old for this) for the party a little later on.

Does that sound right?
