3/22 Magic cruisers

Hi all!
Sunday sounds good should we meet for breakfast or after? I imagine the kids will not care to come, are all spouses coming? My DH would come. I want to book brunch at Palos hopefully for Monday but if I can't get that it then I will try for Thursday. Not sure yet which day for dinner at Palos have to see our rotation first. I'm excited that DD will be able to go to Palos this time, I think she will be amazed by the wonderful food! We didn't do dinner last time so this time if we can I want to try the chocolate souffle that I have read so much about. I'm thinking that if we all stop eating 2 weeks before we leave we will have room to fit all the meals for the week. :p
My DH will be bringing a sport coat and slacks, DD likes to dress up, don't most girls?! My DS's "formal" wear will be kahki cargo pants, polo shirt and athletic shoes. This is as close to dress up as I can get him, oh yea, and he will take off his hat! It is amazing how little I see of him with out one on! It sounds like alot of us fly in Friday, 3 weeks from to day we will be leaving!!! Our flight leaves here at 1:30 and we arrive in Orlando at 12:05am, long day, but we should be rested for Sat. morning. I can't wait for my DD's friend to see the ship for the first time, I'm not sure if he has seen any large cruise ship up close, and the Magic is so beautiful.
Well time to go to work hopefully the docs wll come today.
Kim:tongue:

After breakfast on Sunday sounds fine with me. My husband well come with me to meet everyone. We will also be bringing a sportcoat and pants for the dressy occasions. He does'nt like to dress up alot in tie and coat but will a couple of times. I hope we can get res for Palo, we are going to try. I have heard so many good things about it that we would really like to try and eat there at least once.

MOWANDA (Brenda)

Mowanda, this will be my 4th cruise (2nd DCL cruise), and I will never forget going over the bridge last cruise and seeing the ship for the 1st time. It is a truly beautiful ship. And the sail-away party . . . when you hear those other ships' horns and then hear the Magic's horn . . . magical.

My family is a veteran of 2 DIS meets (the Boise group is fairly active.) My DH and DM will probably join me. I'll have Grace most likely, but I don't know about the other 2. I thought the Promenade Lounge at 11 am sounded good - there is something going on there at 10 am, but hopefully it will be open other than that. I'm not sure how crowded other spots are going to be on this cruise.

It's raining in Portland - I'm ready for that Caribbean sunshine!

 This is our first cruise and we are way to excited. We booked last May 2002. It's not hard to get through the summer, but the winter is so long in Wisconsin. My DH, DD 11, DS 16 and myself will be cruisin March 22, 2003. I think we have everything we need. If their are any kids out their the same age as mine please e-mail us.

Happy Cruisin,
We will have our DS15 along with DD18 and her friend20. I will talk to my DS about e-mailing but he is basically a lazy 15 year old and I don't think he even listens to me anymore when I talk about the cruise! He is very excited to go again as he had the BEST time of his life on our 4-01 Magic cruise. It is just that I talk about the trip all the time and everyone just smiles and nods at me. Have your son go to the 411 meeting the first night at Common Grounds. On the first cruise Sean(DS) went to the 411 came back to the cabin all mad and said this sucks!(I know, he has a way with words!) there is no one to hang out with. We told him to go back and try again and I don't think we ever saw him again except to eat and sleep! He ran around with a crowd of kids all week and had so much fun! What he really liked is that alot of them were girls a couple of years older.

My DS 16, just sprained his ankle. I told him the other day about
playing basketball on the top deck of the ship and how cool it would be. Well now I don't know whats going to happen, but
I,m going to have a great time no matters what!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, we're on the 3/22 cruise and my daughter Debbie, age 10, is concerned about not knowing other kids on board. If any of you have kids 10-11 yrs old, especially girls, please have them email her at debbie_gg@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Hi everyone. We are also sailing on the Magic on 3/22 as well. Myself, husband and 2 children, son, age 11 and daughter, age 7. Kids are looking forward to it. This is our second time on the Magic. We are from Evansville, Indiana. By the way, HI, duesterj, I noticed we are from the same hometown and our daughters are about the same age! Is everyone meeting on board?

Welcome aboard! We're becoming a big enough group that I know we have kids in every age range now (though most of us are in the 21 and holding group!) :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I just checked after being away for the weekend - Wow - only 19 days!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Sigafoos,
Your son sounds exactly like mine!(DS15) We never saw him except for meals after the first night at Common Grounds. ;) Actually my whole family sounds like yours. Why is it that I seem to be the only on who is really excited about the cruise? They'll have a great time once they are there, but they miss all the fun of the anticipation.

Divine5,
I also have a DS11. It looks like there will be a lot of boys around that age on board.

My DH and I will be meeting all of you on Sunday; I'll have to wait and see what my DS's have planned (by then they may have already deserted us!)

Marian

YAHOO!!

Hello to all. Only 19 days now, and I think I have just gone over the edge as far as anticipating this wonderful trip. Saturday I went to the mall and out to lunch with my oldest daughter (34) and my daughter-in-law, went to the music store and bought a reggae CD with wonderful island music on it!! I am right now sitting at my desk at work listening to it. I made my husband and youngest daughter (22) listen to the CD on the way to church yesterday. I think I need help, no I know what I need, to be on the cruise!!

Donnadavid - Sunday at 11:00 sounds like a great time to all get together and meet. See you soon!!

Do we have a meeting time and place yet for Sunday? Are we doing ribbons? What's the 'protocol' for a meet?

Devine5 - I emailed you last night. I'm suspecting we know each other!

Jane

Brenda, you are too funny! I'm so glad there are other people out there as excited as I am.

Marian

We received our documents in the mail today......oh happy day!!!!!
More snow due in the middle of the week!

I'm still without documents, but it's okay. Next week I'll get nervous if I don't have them.

It sounds like most people who have expressed an opinion on when/where to meet like Sunday at 11 am. We can plan on the Promenade Lounge; if that location doesn't work, we can always meet outside the Lounge and then move somewhere else. The ribbons are just to help us identify each other - it's certainly not critical to have them. I'll look around for some so we can find each other; I'll report back if I find any. :bounce:

Marian,

If you only knew how funny I can be!! I am the Lucille Ball of my drama team at church. I just enjoy having good clean fun, and laughter is one of the best medicines we have. Can be very addicting though, so watch out!!

Brenda

My docs came yesterday! It's time to get serious, I'v really got to start getting things together. The suitcases are out and I'm starting to throw things in . Make sure you take a extension cord if you want to use your own hairdryer and whatever else. I think I will pack a power strip as we will plug in 2-way radio chargers, video camera etc. If you want another song to "get in the mood" try The Barefoot Man. He has a song called Down in Abaco and since Castaway Cay is in the Abacos it is very appropriate. Last year for grad my DD went to WDW with a friend then met up with 3 others and all 5 girls flew to Guana Cay(very small island , you can walk around it!) and stayed in a beach house for a week. They came home talking about this singer. He is very popular in the islands and parts of Florida. We downloaded some of his music from KaZaa. Well off to work I go!
Kim:wave:

My DH called Disney last week....we were getting a little twitchy about not having documents. We we told if we had not received them by March 7th, to call Disney.

Got a message from my TA at Dreams Unlimited(Cathy) after I asked a question. We have more than 8 bookings through Dreams on our cruise! If any of you booked with Dreams that means a stateroom gift:p I have piles of clothes on the floor as I go through and try to decide what to bring. Sent a letter to all DS's teachers explaining his upcoming absence from school. Rainy and windy here today. We are sooo close I can hardly stand it. I'm thinking about it all the time and yet I feel so unprepared. I thought as we get older we get more organized, I get less organized each year.
