3/22 Magic cruisers

Hi everyone,

This is so much fun!! Coming here everyday, sometimes twice a day, and seeing what new messages have appeared. The Dis meet and greet on Sunday sounds like a plan! It would be so much fun to put a face with all of you that have logged in here and are on the March 22nd cruise. Our snow is melting, melting ,melting and there is slush everywhere. I am so glad that we did'nt have a cruise beginning this past Saturday, a friend of mine and his family were supposed to fly out of Baltimore, MD this past Saturday, but because of the blizzard were delayed for two days. Definitely would have missed the ship! I'm glad we booked for the latter part of March!!

No matter when I get on the threads for later cruises are above ours, and I'm on ALOT! What is going on?:) Well I booked our transportation to the port with Yourride and we should arrive at 12:00. I could get there earlier and be happy but no-one else likes standing in line. Has everyone decided on excursions or not to do them?

Our documents arrived yesterday, and now I know
why other posters have been so excited! 4 weeks
from today we will be heading to the airport.

I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!!

smiles to all!

Is it true that if you booked your flight to Florida through the Disney Company that your documents arrive later than others do? I think I read that somewhere on these threads. I can't wait to get ours, then it will all seem more real. Right now, just looking forward to this first trip seems like a fairytale. Some friends of mine left today for their flight tomorrow to cruise on another cruise line for their 25th anniversery. We will be leaving 4 weeks from today to go to the airport to spend the night at a hotel there for our flight the next day. I am sure I will not sleep to much the night before. It will be like that commercial for Disney World where the kids can't sleep and then they show the father, and he can't sleep either, to excited. How do you get the countdown clock on your responses??

I'm jealous, we have not recieved our docs yet! We booked through DU and booked our own air. I posted a question about where to find the countdown clocks and someone posted a link to the site with directions, it was easy to do.

Sigafoos, you're lucky to be able to shop with your DD - my DD (remember this is an 8 yr old) and I had a huge fight over a padded bra. Who sells padded bras in the little girls' department anyway! She likes to dress like Britney Spears (why can't they just stay little?!) She even wanted to name the baby Britney after her heroine! (Britney Spears Siegel - what do you think?)

I've done a little shopping, but I went on-line. LandsEnd has some shorts and bathing suits in their newest catalog if anyone is interested.

Welcome aboard, DisneyFreak. Our DS's will be in the kids' club together. Assuming, of course, that they both want to go to the kids' club. My DS is pretty shy initially; but I know that if he makes a friend in the 1st day or two (or if they have Legos there), my DS will be in the club all of the time.

Okay, who has any suggestions for when/where to meet on-board? Anybody besides Mowanda and I (and Britney Spears Siegel? LOL) going to be there? And where is Duerstj - are you still out there? Stop lurking if you're there and help us keep those Fall cruisers in their place!
Donna

Hi Donna,

Your DS sounds like mine. He is also shy initially, but LOVES Legos. Two years ago when we sailed, he didn't want to leave the Oceaneers Club to do things with us!

Pam

Hi, Pam, That's funny that your DS loves Legos too. I almost posted a thread asking about Legos on board, but then I decided that the kid is going on a cruise and he can do without them for a week! The last time I took him to WDW, he was concerned that he was going to have to do without tomato soup for a week!

Look, Sigafoos, two posts in one day. And Pam and I are almost doing IM here. Do we get extra points for this? By the way, I had kind of forgotten about your past luck with cruising (the ship broke down???!!!) I'm not particularly superstitious, but just in case you are bad luck, do you have any plans for warding off the bad karma? LOL

Donna, I forgot to mention, two years ago not only did they have Legos, they had Kinex also! My DS thought that was the "coolest" place.

Thanks for the info, Pam. Jacob will be very excited it it's still there.

Sigafoos, I forgot to reply that I've decided that due to issues with Baby Grace and the number of people in my party (6 including my mom), it will be more convenient and cheaper to rent a mini-van and do excursions on our own. However, I haven't rented a mini-van yet, so I had better get going on that. I'm thinking about going out to Pinel Island and also going to the Butterfly farm in St. Maarten. In St. Thomas, I'm still trying to decide on a good beach that's mild enough for a toddler; I'm also planning on taking the group up the tram.:smooth:

We got ours about 2 1/2 weeks ago. We have our own air, and live in Canada so sometimes they send them early.

I just found out the other day that you drive on the left side of the road in St. Thomas. We've rented a jeep to do our own excursions. DH and DS's (11 and 15) think it will be "cool" but I may need heavy duty tranquilizers!

Haven't decided what to do in St. Martin yet, will probably also rent a vehicle. It works out to be about the same price as taxis but gives us more flexibility.

Tell me when and where to meet. and we'll be there!

Marian

We are without documents as of yet.

I'm stuck at the hospital today, so I think I'm going to look up the old Navigators and start picking some times for a possible meet. I've had trouble finding lime-green ribbon in the past; I guess I'll have to start looking early. I don't think I'm ambitious enough to bring a can of corn onboard, however. (Actually, I bet a lot of you don't know the joke on the DIS about the canned corn . There was a post on the boards once that said something like, "What is the strangest thing you've ever seen in WDW?" Someone answered that they once saw a couple sitting on a bench inside WDW eating corn out of a can. Since then, it's something of a tradition to have canned corn at DIS meets - at least I know I can get a can of corn easily vs. that lime-green ribbon! LOL)

Duerstj, I'm happy to hear from you. Did Sara get Emily's card? Emily has had strep throat and has been out of commission for a few days.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Yes, we did get Emily's card and Sara was very excited. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time getting her to respond - she 'can't think of anything to say'. I'll keep working on her.

What's the significance of the green ribbon?

No documents as of yet.....just confirmation on shore excursions.

Welcome, Lil.

The lime-green ribbon is how people on the DIS are supposed to identify each other.

Just home from work and my first stop is the computer. Still no docs here. Nice to see another addition to the group:D I find myself online alot lately and no housework getting done. It is getting so close and I find that it is all I seem to think about!
