3/22 Magic cruisers

Hi, everyone. I just found a really helpful site - cruisecritic.com. If you click under destinations, it has info that I found really helpful in planning my shore excursions.
Did everyone read the posts about snow at the Port? My last DCL cruise in 1/00 was during cold weather - I'm so happy we're cruising during warm weather!

And I like www.vinow.com for info on the St. Thomas beaches. (I have lots of time to kill at work sometimes - I'm obsessing over our shore excursions . Can you tell?) :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Is everyone getting excited?! We are getting close, I have started my list making. I pulled out the lists I used for our last cruise and started adding to it. Hopefully we will have wonderful hot weather!

HELLO all... We are booked on this cruise (and everyday I get more and more excited) We have three cabins. My parents, my brother and his wife of just over a year, and myself and my three teenage daughters. When we went 2 years ago, the girls always had dinner and saw the shows with us, but other than that.. they were loving the kids and counselors at Common Grounds. They still keep in touch (love email) with many of the kids they met on that cruise.

We are flying in Friday and staying at the Raddison. We also beat Disney airfare, and booked through Spirit Airlines.

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL!!!!

duesterj,

I lost the thread where you asked if my DS11 would like to email your DS10. He said he would, but I haven't got a clue how to!

For everyone else, we are also flying in on Friday and staying at the Radisson overnight. We're coming from Calgary, Alberta, Canada where it is freezing right now, so you can imagine how excited I am!:sunny:

There are four of us, DH, DS15, DS11, and me. I was thinking of signing up for the Golden Eagle catamaran as well - have you heard anything about it? My boys love to snorkel.

mbaidacoff,
I have read alot of good reviews from other cruisers about the Golden Eagle Catamaran. In a post from another cruiser a have a link to the Golden Eagle Catamaran site. Try going here to check it out. We also have a 15ds and on our cruise 2 years ago the only time we saw him was when we forced him to appear at dinner and even then he left early!http://www.sailingsxm.com/eagle.htm

We are also flying in Friday arriving at midnight. We will be staying at the Embassy Suites using Hilton points. I haven't picked a limo company to take us to the port in the morning but I do want to arrive by 11am. Our first cruise we arrived by Disney bus from WDW and got there around 1:00 and walked right on the ship, this time I want to have time to look around the cruise terminal. We are going to squeeze in some time at WDW before flying home Sunday evening. I can't wait!!!

Thanks for the website Kim. I have to talk to DH now and see what he wants to do. We are going to rent a car from Avis and then take the shuttle from the Radisson (Avis center) to the cruise terminal. It worked out cheaper and was way easier than going back to the airport to take the DCL bus. We will be going back to Orlando the same way, and dropping the car off at the airport when we leave.

I refuse to allow the 10/18 Eastern Magic cruise post to be listed higher than our post!
We're also taking a transportation service out to the Radisson at the Port the night before the cruise. I got an entertainment rate at the Swan for the night after the cruise. We're going to go to DL in May, so we'll probably focus on MGM (love that RnR!) and maybe AK.
Getting close!

We are also going on the Magic 7-day cruise starting March 22. Me, DH and DD, age 10. This is our first Disney cruise and we are really looking forward to it! We splurged on the Category 6 with veranda. -- Karen Gillum

Karen,
Welcome to our cruise!:p I think you will love it. This board is a fantastic wealth of information I can't imagine stepping on the ship without all of the knowledge and insider tips that this forum and FANTASTIC people bring! The days are slipping away and before we know it we will be standing on deck 9 watching the coast of Florida fade away with a tropical drink in hand.

Hello fellow cruisers... I am bringing three teenagers on the cruise. Just wondering how many more there will be. The last time we cruised on the Magic (March 2001) there were many teens. They had a wonderful time and to this day, many keep in touch.

by the way... where are you people getting those count down things... they are very cool!

Peachy,
We are bringing our dd18, ds15, and my dd's friend(guy)20. My ds is very excited to go! On our cruise 2 years ago he had just turned 13 and loved being able to go to Common Grounds. He ran with a large group of friends all week and still chats on-line with them. He is hoping for a lot of teens. How old are your girls? I want to get to the port about 10:30-11:00 to be able to look around the terminal and perhaps talk to people in line. Last time we arrived from CBR on Disney bus around 1:00 and walked right on the ship so I never really saw the terminal. I don't mind waiting in line, it is just part of the anticipation!:p

I have three teenage girls... 14, 16 and 17. The just loved the Common Grounds 2 years ago as well. When did you go?

I know what you mean about checking out the Port terminal. I remember looking around a bit last time, and thinking it was outstanding. Sounds like lots of Disney cruisers are staying at the Radisson the night before. The last time we went we took Disney air and didn't get to the Port until around 3:00 or so.
Every day I am getting more excited... :Pinkbounc

I just got finished shovelling my driveway :( I can't wait till I'm brushing sand off my shoes instead of snow! :D

Our first cruise was 4-21-01. We were on the Magic when it broke down in St. Thomas which caused us to miss Castaway Cay. I'm hoping to get there this trip! I can't complain about our weather here as it has been a very mild winter. No snow for us, even the skiing is bad this year with not much snow even in the mountains. I think we have only had a few mornings with frost on the ground! Our plants are confused, the bulbs are coming up and plants are starting to bud.

Karen -

Greetings from Indiana neighbors on the March 22 cruise. We're from Evansville and are cruising with DS10 and DD7.

Jane

I'm curious how many of us will be eating together, we have late seating, what about everyone else. Since we are from the west coast the 8:00 dinner doesn't seem that late! I still haven't decided what night for Palos, since ds is the only one of our group who can't eat there I want to give him a day or so to make friends so he can hang out with them while we go to Palos. It will probably only take a few minutes for him to find friends though!LOL
