Last year we had the DDP and ate at: Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine and Garden Grille. It was too much to schedule around the meals, so this year we are going with the QS plan. But, I want to treat kids (DD5.5 and DSalmost3) to one character meal. Hollywood and Vine is out because of the out-dated characters. I can't decide which one we should go for this time. DD isn't a huge princess fan, and I don't want to spend too much $$. Any recommendations for a 2nd trip meal? Or, is there something else we should splurge on other than a character meal? (MNSSHP is also not an option)

We always try to do Chef Mickeys for breakfast, they have Mickey and Minnie, as well as Donald, Goofy and Pluto. They also have a good selection of food. One other option that you might consider instead of the character meals is spending the time in the parks to meet the characters. We just got home this past Sunday, one thing that we never realized was that Camp Mickey and Minnie at the AK had several characters old and new with very little wait times. We went to see the normal characters when Pocahontas, Stitch, Pooh and Rabbit, as well as several other lesser known characters. We stood in line as little as 5 minutes for each of them and got pics and autographs. One other place that did the same was in the animation section at HS. We went in there to see the Incredibles, Mickey and Lotso Bear, before we left we had met Snow White, Minnie and Pluto, Aladdin, Mulan, Capt Hook, Eeyore, Pinnochio and Gepetto. There were a few others in there but my 3 year old was scared of them.

The meetings at HS took place around 5 pm. The ones at AK happened sometime between 9am and 11am, don't remember the exact times on this one. Hope this gives you some more ideas.

Gotta go with my namesake at Tusker House, but if you want something different, you could do breakfast at Cape May. Several of the usual gang in beach attire.

Since you have been to the others I would try breakfast at Akershus. Although it is princess we have enjoyed our meals and character interaction there. We are not buffet fans and do prefer the "somewhat" family style here. The atmosphere is also nice. We always enjoy CP and early entry into the MK with an 8:05 reservation is a tradition for our family. Thanks.

OP, H&V changing characters Oct 1. JoJo and Golith gone, I believe it will be Handy Mandy and Special Agent Oso along with the little einsteins if that makes any difference in your decision.
