I was laid off 5 weeks ago. I had my first two interviews today. The 2nd interview just wasnt a good fit for me. But during the first interview I really felt like the interviewer and I hit it off. She asked me to come in next week for a 2nd interview with another manager. In fact she kept checking their online calendar while I was there to see if he was off the phone so it could be scheduled. And she told me to let the recruiter know that she needed to schedule this asap. She also talked to me about some upcoming events including a team meeting in South Beach at the Ritz!! She went to the trouble to find the email so she could mention the exact dates to see if I was available. So I have a very good feeling about it. What do you guys think? Isnt it a good sign to mention a 2nd interview during the 1st?

It sounds good to me! A 2nd interview is usually a step in the right direction! Good Luck!

Sure, it's a good sign, IMHO.
I hope it works out for you! :)

It does sound good, but I would still be very cautiously optomistic. There was a poster a few weeks ago who quit her job because she got a second interview, then realized that could have been a mistake (does anyon know how that turned out?). A lot of people were letting her know that it's not uncommon to have 3 or 4 interviews and that's been my experience with my DH. I'm sorry, I'm trying to be a Debbie Downer. But good luck and how cool would it be to go to SoBe with work?!?!

If they were not interested they would not have you back for a second interview. That's definatly a good sign.

A very good sign - but don't count your chickens.

In other words - continue to actively seek employment elsewhere until you actually have the job offer. Things can still happen.

Funding for position dries up
Manager is 2nd interview just doesn't like you
The CEO's niece needs a job and they are told they must hire her
etc. etc. etc.

But best of luck - it sure sounds promising!!!
