We head out on our first Disney cruise soon on the Fantasy!

We are assigned the second seating for dinner and have heard that you can get kids meals "sped up" and have the CMs pick them up early and go play at the kids club.

If we do that, do the kids miss out on anything at dinner? I know there are special things going on at least at Animator's Palate throughout dinner. Not sure if these things happen early on or though to dessert too.

Thanks ahead for any of your thoughts!

The Crush show goes all through dinner. And the Animation Magic show happens at dessert time.

Dine and play is wonderful. They indeed speed up dinner for the kiddies (mention the kids intention to dine and play when you order). Obviously for the animation night the kids will want to stick around.

On our first Disney Cruise we had main seating and I always felt like we were rushing to dinner. On our second, we could only get the second seating. I was worried at first that it would be too late for our then 7 year old, but between dine and play and ordering a little something from room service while we were getting ready for the early show, it worked out great.

Thank you. OK, it sounds like we should stay together any night at Animator's Palate. Is there anything going on at Enchanted Garden or Royal Court that she will not want to miss?

Well....sort of.....not really..... Enchanted Garden lighting goes through a "daylight" sequence. Bright lights for daytime, then dimmer as we get to dusk and evening, then night. But not really a show, it just happens.

Nothing that I can recall in Royal Court.

The kids are served first.... adults wait a little while for their meals. Unless the kid is a slow eater... lots of time for the kids club.

Our servers always told us if it was a night where we should send DD to the club or if she should stick around and wait for the show. Minnie and Daisy? came in and did a dance one night, we had Animator's Palate show (twice, because the first one had a technical difficulty), Ariel came in one night and did a show, there was the parade of countries or flags or something like that...) all on our 14 night WBPC cruise.

Only the pain and suffering of sitting through a long meal when they would rather be in the club.
