29 days out and I already pulled out suitcases. I even put a few things in them - pirate costumes and window decor. Even packed my park bag.

Then I got a good laugh this morning reading a planning checklist on another site:

"The night before leaving, pack suitcases and carry on bags if flying."

I think I would have a small panic attack...

I'm with you! I leave in 25 days and suitcases are out; snacks and extras (glowsticks, etc) are sitting on the loveseat ready to be packed. Phew, glad I'm not the only one

This year's packing is going to be easier, as we are flying. When we drove last year, I think we took everything but the kitchen sink. (too much work to detach it...:rotfl:)

DH is worried about putting everything in the suitcases we pulled, but then I showed him the list of what we are actually taking, and he felt better.

Thanks for reminding me - I need to add glowsticks to my "to buy" list.

us too....i have had my suitcases out for ..ummm... 2 + weeks lol...Just makes it feel like we are going sooner!!!! :cool1:

If we are going off-season (living in Wisconsin and going down in December) I tend to pack even earlier. Here's a good laugh for you-I don't leave until December 2012, but I am already packing a Disney box. So far I have decorations for our door, about $1100 in gift cards, quarters for laundry, new toothbrushes, an extra camera battery, collapsible cooler, and park maps. It's never too early to start putting things aside for a WDW trip.

I tend to get the luggage out about 3 weeks early. I usually pack 3 to 4 days before the trip, adding essentials the final day.

I know I am crazy, but I love WDW. Planning is a big part of the fun for me.

31 days for us... wish I could take the suitcases out, but the pups get too anxious when they see them....

My cat was actually in them, along with DD3, checking them out. DS8 wanted to close them up, but I was like, ummmm, no.

Definitely got me beat!

I was just afraid that the kids would start pulling things out of them.

I was there a month ago, too! I pulled out our Disney box and sorted through it - lots of fun looking at lanyards, pins, ear hats, etc.

We're going to need a bigger box this year.

I always get my suitcase out super early. We normally go to Disney in November, and I live in northern NY, so I have no use for my summer clothes and they get packed very early :goodvibes

oh, who would i be kidding? I never UNpack the Disney stuff--misting fan, toiletries, etc. I do the laundry and just put it back in about 3 wks before. I will start packing tomorrow. I might not wear white in Bahsten after Labor Day but I been to Disney when it was 95 in October...I wear white and light!

Ha ha...maybe we are long lost sisters b/c we also arent leaving until Dec of next year and I too have a Disney box w/ a few things already in it...I also have another box for our trip next Oct too. :rotfl:

I'm a little worried about this - we are taking summer clothes, plus a light jacket and one pair of jeans each. We're going the last week in October and I'm actually afraid it will be cold. Our first trip in Jan 2010 it was 20 degrees and we spent a fortune on things to keep us warm.

The weather is so fickle in Florida.

Sounds like it's time for an owner's locker! The rental fee might be cheaper than all the checked bags!

We are much the same, live in the North so when it is time to put the summer clothes away I just pull out our Disney luggage and pack away the clothes and sandals for our trip in Feb/March. I also have a bag of things I gather randomly and keep for each trip (lanyards, glow sticks, etc.)I love the planning as well so I am just biting at the bit to pull out the bags to start packing after Christmas fortunately DH manages to keep me sane until we start our 30 day countdown.

Ha, I have most of you beat :) I pulled out a suitcase and starting tossing stuff into it about 2 weeks ago....and we don't go until Thanksgiving week!!! I was just so excited when we decided to do this trip with our friends (at the beginning of Sept) and my friend is the type who packs the night before and has no patience with planning in advance so my only way of making it through the 75 days of waiting (58 now ) was to start working on my packing list and tossing stuff in the suitcase....oh, and being on the Disboards day and night!! :surfweb:

Hi! I also have the sickness. I packed an entire bag today-26 days out. We usually drive, so I tend to overpack, we are getting to fly this time so I need to be a little more choosy.

Last weekend we had our company employee weekend and they were selling the extra carry-on luggage that they had given us in our Christmas boxes last year-got 2 carry-ons for $10-sweet! So one of them is now full with glow sticks, our swim gear, sunscreen, autograph books, ponchos, snacks and other things. I have 5 people to pack for and only 3 weekends left, I needed to go through everything to see if I needed to make a Walmart run-we only need 1 or 2 things-I have been pretty good keeping our WDW separate so it was easy getting it together. Next weekend I will pack our "bathroom bag" (toiletries and such).

Happy packing!

I would be a crazy person packing the night before! I could never do it! I pack for seven and plan for 12, so I start as early as possible!

You are like me when it comes to buying early. We are headed home in October of 2012, and I am already getting things semi-planned. My mom was making fun of me today b/c I made out a spreadsheet of crowd level predictions and park hour predictions. I told her I needed to be ready to make our meal reservations 6 months out. She was like: "Oh no! You've only got 7 months to get ready to make those reservations." Parents just don't understand. Anyway, I make my list of need to buys, and start pickin' away at it until we leave! My Disney box overfloweth!

I can't put my summer stuff in the suitcases like I did this year b/c we aren't going till after summer! We'll need our summer clothes! Boo. I usually do that though. Makes it easier b/c I don't have to dig through all the summer boxes in the attic to pack.

Um...I was embarassed to admit it, but my suitcases were out and being packed at about the 70 day mark. I guess for me it was not only about the excitement (though that was huge), but about being really organized. Packing for 7 is tough, but packing for 7 in only carry-ons b/c you don't want to pay for checked bags? That was even harder. We managed though. We are up in the air about whether we are driving or flying this time, but either way I will have extra space as we would be flying southwest. We could bring 14 checked suitcases if we wanted! I won't though. They won't fit in my van on the way to the airport! Heehee!

I hear you! I had the suitcases out from the beach and still havent put them back in the storage area...if I wait any longer I dont need to put them back!
Have already started to organize the clothes....what is wrong with me!

I don't think there's anything wrong with you. It's all the non-Disney lovers that have the issues! Right????:confused3
