:cool1: We are leaving home here in cold snowy MN in exactly 23 days- heading to Florida. Hoping to get there safely Thursday the 19th- staying 3 nights at a place called Camp Macks campground. My big brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about a month ago, and with his doctors approval they packed up their travel home, and left cold and snowy St Louis to live out his dream in beautiful Florida. God willing, he will be there a LONG time! He is staying at Camp Macks, so we will have 3 wonderful days with him before checking into the Fort on the 22nd.... :yay:

:yay: We have 2500 worth of new tires and 500 worth of new brakes on our old motorhome. Still have lots of worry about making it- 1800 miles is a LONG ways to drive, and we've actually never driven this beast other than one trip about 3 hours away. Keep us in your prayers for safe travels!

I am so excited about doing a trip report- I am READY! My hubby has a hot spot on his phone now, so we should have internet access at the Fort pretty easily! I will do my very best!

We were just going thru Christmas decorations and loading them up- I counted and we have about 14 bigger things that plug in. Any advice on what to bring for cords? We've never done any decorating like this before. Do we need a lot of shorter cords to plug into a power strip, or what is the best way? I'm not sure what our site (it is a premium) has for plug in capability.....

Any other suggestions are also greatly appreciated! :)

Have a safe trip, and Blessings for great health, and a trip of memories. Having decorated for Halloween this year at the Fort, lots of extension cords, a power strip, shorter cords. You have four outlets on your electric leg, another one by your site number, so a power strip is helpful. Safe travels from your Wisconsin neighbors, and wishing for NO snow on your days of travel. Keep us posted on your trip travels.

Thank you so much bjschil, for responding! That makes it much easier to visualize- I think I'll try drawing it out on paper and see what I come up with. Is the spot with 4 outlets towards the back of the site, or the front? I'm thinking the back, and our decorations would be towards the front. It will be interesting! It's amazing the Fort can handle the draw there must be on electricity with everyone decorating at Christmas- our power company would be blowing generators all over the place! LOL

We will :wave2: at you when we go by in a few weeks! Hoping for decent roads and weather until we get out of the "snow area". And I will be doing the best trip report I can while I'm there- pretty excited about that! If you get a chance, share some of your experiences at Halloween with all of us here! :thumbsup2

Serenitygr, most of the power pedestals are in the middle, however, that is determined mostly by the site. We were in a Premium site, 849, and ours was in the middle. I do know that some are in the back. We are also going to be braving leaving in winter conditions, leaving Dec 31 for three weeks, 2 at the Fort, of glorious warmer weather. Keep us up to speed on your travels, and again, Blessings to your brother. Remember, someone has to beat the "odds" so why not him. Take care. Do you have the app loaded that shows the size, length/width of each site at FW, and where the power pedestal, and sewer connections are?
