$27.00 in fees??? Are you kidding me???

So...I went to order checks..It was $21.90 for two boxes and another $27.00 in fees to ship, etc...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!

So...who do you order checks from? I don't use too many but I do like to have them...any ideas? I'm not paying $27.00 in fees!!! That's more then the cost of the checks!!!

We get ours from our credit union. In fact, I just ordered ours yesterday. Free checks (duplicates) along with free shipping and handling.

Get mine free from the bank, course I only write about 2 checks a month so Im stocked up for awhile.

same here. We get them free through our bank also. If we wanted the "designer" ones, it would cost us. I don't know how much though, but the basic ones with duplicate are free, with free shipping.

I used to work with a lady who ordered hers from the Sunday circular. She would buy 4 boxes. When she ran out of those, she would reorder with same bank and name information but use a daughter, son or dad's address to order more and repeat this process as needed. I guess they would give you a great rate on the initial purchase but if you reordered, you got the regular price. I would assume she is still doing this I'll ask her next time we go home for a visit.

I ordered from Checks Unlimited for years and was satisfied with their prices. (I just switched banks, and one of the perks is I get free checks as long as my account is open.)

My credit union does them for free and we get our choice of designer checks and mine are super-cool Disney ones.

We are members of two credit unions and neither are free - cost me $28 for a box of Disney checks last week from one of them - plain old boring checks were $21. I'll check out those other links...

Wal-mart = $7.96 for a single box of 150 duplicates of coastal dreams scenes... much better!

Banks no longer want to process checks. They have gone digital. With many banks, you are better off going the route of the third party vendors for checks...

Will these places start you off at the check # you want or does it have to be at check #1? I'm currently at check # 5565.

You can choose whatever check number you want as far as the check printing company is concerned. I don't know it the banks care or not... I have always kept my number series going.

I do not belong to a credit union or bank that offers free checks. And it was
Checks Unlimited that wanted to charge me $27.00 for fees & shipping.
When I told her that was ridiculous she didn't care one bit so I assume
that was their best price.

I'll check out WalMart....Do you just order them right on lineat the Walmart website?

If I didn't have kids in school I wouldn't even worry about checks...but it's that
time of year were I'll be writing checks for lab fees, sweatshirts, PTA dues, etc!!!

Hmmm, I just ordered from there for my son, and I paid no fees! Did you look for a coupon code and order online? I paid about $12 total for 2 boxes.
