Trying to decide where to go for our 25th. It's a couple of years away, but it's fun to think about. We know we want someplace warm! At first, we were going to do a family vacation with DS19 and DS17 (at the time) to Aulani, but with one in college and one getting ready to go, I don't think we will be able to afford it. So we moved it back to our 30th anniversary. That's the year our youngest graduates from college and it's also the year I retire!!! :cool1:

So what to do for our 25th? We went to HHI for our 20th, just the two of us. We regularly take the family here. In fact, we will be there in 3 months! So we could do this again, just the two of us. I think it's a very romantic location! If we do this, we will still have several DVC points we could rent to pay for all the expenses and still have some left over. Plus I still want to go somewhere with the family, probably Gatlinburg, which is where our teens would prefer, and this would give us some spending money there as well.

I've also thought about going to WDW, but our anniversary is in July and it's SO HOT at WDW in July. I didn't enjoy it the last time I went in July, so maybe not a good idea. But a nice meal at California Grill sounds awesome to celebrate an anniversary.

Then I got to thinking about Key West. If anyone has been there and also HHI, does it kind of have the same feel? Small, quaint, ocean breezes, lots of nature? Thinking maybe flying to Orlando for 2-3 nights, then on to Key West for 3-4? The best of both worlds?

What do you think? Any other suggestions?

In nov 2014 is mine and Dhs 20th anniversary and we have already booked a week long cruise on the fantasy and plan to book palo for our actual anniversary

hi - we're celebrating our 25th this year - and going to wdw - but are not going away on our annivesary proper - we're waiting a little later - we have a whole group of friends who coincidentally married in 1988 and we're doing a big trip with the whole group - so maybe if you want to celebrate you can have a special dinner at home & then travel w/the kids in the fall -

Have a great trip! A cruise is a great idea if you don't have vertigo and severe seasickness. Our first family trip to WDW was in 2005. We did the land/sea package, and we set sail on our 15th anniversary. I spent that anniversary with my head in the toilet. I don't plan on any more cruises after that.

We will travel with the kids anyway. It might just be for a long weekend in Gatlinburg due to school/work conflicts with both my teens. I would like to get away with my DH just because we usually do a nice dinner every anniversary, and it would be nice to celebrate our 25th in a more special way. Have fun on your group trip!

DH and I are also celebrating our 25th anniversary by sailing on the Fantasy in June 2014. We were going to do Hawaii also, but decided we wanted to make it a family vacation and invite our 2 DD's, who will be 22 and 18 by then.

June 2014 is also both girls graduations - one from high school and one from college, so what better thing to celebrate it all at once. Plus, we know our family vacations with all 4 of us won't last forever as the girls get older.

We will rent some of our DVC points to help pay for the cruise.

We also plan to eat at Palo ON our anniversary! :lovestruc

Stayed at the Grand Californian at DL for a few days. They offer an anniversary package set up in the room for when you arrive including rose peddles on the bed and personalized robes. We really enjoyed the spa at the hotel and had our actual 25th anniversary dinner at Club 33 with our 2 daughters and their boyfriends.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a trip to Italy last fall. It was fabulous! I've been to Key West a couple of times and really liked it. It can get crowded though, in the main part of town. If you are driving from Orlando, it will be a long trip. It was a long drive from Miami. I would look into flying directly there from Orlando.
