Okay enough for today!!!

I love the queue's in Disneyland and DCA. They are so entertaining. Is the guy in blue at Ariel's a page by any chance? They seem to have aged since my girls were little just like I have.:rotfl:

Is that what they're called....lol I think I've been referring to them as squires.... wasn't quite sure the official title. This guy was older & very nice....excited!! The one that did the singing & announcing of princesses was a younger guy. Unfortunately he stood by the window....so you see nothing....

My knowledge if that's what it is...:rotfl:comes from a llife long love affair with books about knights. A squire is like a knight in training. A page is a step down from that. I can't help it I am a geek when it comes to knights and such.:rotfl2:

Recap of Monday, March 9:

Extras we did: ToonTown Morning Madness, Innoventions, changed motels & the Character Warehouse

CARNATION CAFE DINING REVIEW:

This is a sit-down restaurant with outdoor seating. PS highly recommended.
They have breakfast choices of Mickey Mouse Waffles, Cinnamon Roll French Toast, Apple Pancakes,
Oscar's Choice: scrambled eggs, potatoes, croissant, bacon or sausage & fruit $8.99
Croissanwich: scrambled eggs, cheese & ham in a croissant with fruit $8.49

They have kids choices of: scrambled eggs, potatoes & fruit w/drink $5.99 or Mickey waffles w/fruit & drink $5.99

They have ala carte items of: cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, fruit & yogurt parfait. They have a standard selection of drinks
(coffee 2.69/coke 2.99/OJ 2.99)

This was a wonderful meal on a quaint little patio. The service was excellent. We all loved the breakfast potatoes!! The croissants are flaky & light. My son had the croissant benedict & said it was the best he'd ever had & he loves eggs benedict! We loved the food, waitstaff & setting.

TOMORROWLAND TERRACE DINING REVIEW:

This is a walk-up order counter where you wait for them to fill your order. They have a large outdoor seating area. They have burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, turkey club/roast beef/grilled vegie sandwiches, salad, fresh fruit plates, fruit & yogurt parfaits. They have a kids menu available. Standard drink selections.

1/3 lb Cheeseburger w/choice of fries or coleslaw $7.59
Kids meal of chicken nuggest w/apple slices & drink $5.99

This meal was okay, nothing really special. The burgers have a good flavor & the fries were good. It's a great spot to catch a quick meal....if you time it right you enjoy your meal while watching live entertainment or the Jedi Academy.

HOUSE OF BLUES DINING REVIEW:

This is a sit-down restaurant located in DTD. I tried to make a PS for this & was told they didn't do those. (not sure it was not busy enough or they only do them for the Sunday Gospel Brunch). The area we were seated seemed pretty small but assume the upstairs is huge & that's were they hold the buffet & entertainment. The ceiling changes color & was fun to watch.

They have a large choice of menu items:
Shrimp Po-Boy, Blackened Chicken Sandwich, Pull Pork Sandwich, Blues Burger, Turkey Wrap, French Dip, Steak, Catch-of-the-Day, Chicken Fried Chicken, Rosemary Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, Ribs, Jambalaya, Meatloaf, Creole, Fried Shrimp, Pizza, Salads & Daily Specials. They also have a large selection of appetizers & desserts. They have the standard selection of drinks + a full bar.

Gumbo $4.00
Sweet Potato Fries $4.00
Shrimp Po-Boy w/ fries & coleslaw $13.00
Elwood Blackened Chicken w/fries $12.00
Chicken BBQ Pizza $13.00
Kids menu: Cheese Pizza $7.50 Chicken Tenders w/fruit $7.50

Kid drinks: $1.95
Soda: $3.25
Iced Tea: $3.00

The food was very good! I did enjoy the gumbo much better at Cafe Orleans. The BBQ Chicken Pizza was the bomb!!! It was probably the favorite at the table. The service was excellent. We found this to be a relaxing meal. They have a gift shop just off the restaurant for those looking for "Blue's Brothers" stuff!

Recap of Tuesday, March 10

We had 3 Meals all at DCA

Rides we did: GRR, Soarin', Monster's Inc, Francis's Ladybug Boogie, Tuck & Roll's Drive 'em Buggies, CA Screamin' & the train at DL

Extras we did: Checked out the "are you 23?" campaign (which previewed today), Playhouse Disney, Pixar Play Parade & Fireworks in front of the castle.

ARIEL'S GROTTO PRINCESS BREAKFAST:

This is a sit-down character meal served family-style. PS highly recommended. $34.68/Adult $19.82/Child (3-9)
You check-in & are told when to head downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs you meet Ariel in the photo op area. The photographer will present a picture package to your table available for purchase $29.95. You are seated & the waiter/waitress gets your drink orders. The waitstaff brings out a 3-tiered stand of food: top tier with fresh fruit, middle tier with cheeses, cream cheeses & deli meats & the bottom tier with pastries. About 10 mins later, they bring out a hot dish full of scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon & sausage. A Page comes out & announces special birthdays, etc & sings "The time of your life" (I think from the Disney commercials). He then announces the princesses one at a time who will then make their way to your table. You will see 4 come out during your meal.

This is a very nice meal, especially if you have a Princess lover. The family style service was plentiful & very good. The decor in this restaurant is beautiful & you get the feeling of being "under the sea". I actually enjoyed the breakfast over the lunch/dinners we've had there. (which were also good)

AWARD WEINERS DINING REVIEW:

This is a walk-up order counter where they'll fill your order as you wait. They have a indoor seating area to the right of the order counter. They have a selection of hot dogs, chili-cheese dog, bbq hot link, sicilian sausage, & caesar sausage. These are served with apple slices or fries.
They have a kid meal of hot dog, sliced apples & drink for $5.99
The regular beef hot dog meal is $5.69

The dogs are juicy & hot. The fries were good. The service was quick & friendly.

TASTE PILOT'S GRILL DINING REVIEW:

This is a walk-up order counter where you wait for them to fill your order. They have inside & outside seating.
They have ribs, chicken sandwiches, bbq chicken sandwiches, salad, burgers, fries, onion rings, shakes & standard drink selections. They also have kid meals of chicken nuggets, sliders or the Power Pack (yogurt, string cheese, fish crackers, apple slices & drink)

Cheeseburger w/fries $7.59
BBQ Chicken sandwich w/fries $8.59
Kid's Meals $5.99
Milkshakes $3.99

We love this restaurant for their burgers & chicken sandwiches. They are both full of flavor, served hot with criss cross fries. The kids like the sliders & chicken nuggets. They have plenty of seating. We actually fixed up our meals at the fixin's bar & then headed out to get a place for the Pixar Play Parade. This worked out great....had a super meal & watched the parade.
We usually eat at this restaurant twice or more during our trips.

Okay, can't believe I haven't finished up on the first report & here's a mini pre-TR!!!!

We're totally excited about the opportunity for Mike to interview at Disneyland. His interview is on Tuesday, April 7 at 9am. Our plans are this:
Mike, me & the twins (22 months) are heading south on Sunday April 5th. Derek will join us if he gets offered an interview....we're supposed to hear within the week. He gets an interview hopefully we'll be able to set it up during the same time Mike's is....otherwise it would be a huge problem!! We're driving to Anaheim & plan on getting there between 7-8pm. We're staying at the America's Best Value Astoria Inn & Suites. It's on Ball Street, one block off of Harbor. I read excellent reviews on tripadvisor & there prices were awesome!!! The biggest reason we're staying there is they have rooms!!! Nothing like going right in the heart of spring break!!! :scared1: We're getting the room (2 queen & 2 portacribs) for $69/night!!! Hope those reviews were from actual guests....lol

We plan on taking the twins to Disneyland for their very first trip!!!!!! We have no idea how they're going to react but time to find out...especially if Mike gets a job...they better LOVE it!! We are not taking Anthony & Addy, since they were just there & Anthony can't miss anymore school. Besides we don't want to confuse them with Mike's interview. They would take that as he got a job there & that's not the case........yet we hope!

I've set only one PS since we're flat broke from our big trip. We are taking the girls to the Minnie & Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn to see how they'll react to characters. They know who Mickey & Minnie are as well as Pooh Bear & Tigger....so hopefully Minnie & at least Pooh bear will be there. Finger's crossed that they won't freak out!!

The girls are very sensitive to stimuli, so we will have to be very careful with them & how much they're exposed to. Also a good reason not to bring the other 2 kids.

We're planning on spending Monday & Tuesday at the parks....taking our time & riding IASW & hopefully Peter Pan with them. Mostly we want to stroll them thru the park.

We will come home on Wednesday...and hopefully my hubby will be employed! This brings up another complication........if he's offered a job, we've got to find him a cheap-cheap-cheap place to stay, so he can save up his paychecks to get us a rental home down there. I will have to stay here with all the kids until June....... :sad1: I will miss him very much if we have to do that.....but it's the only way we can see it happening. My feeling is, if it's meant to be....it will happen.

So that's about it on a pre-TR....... not planning a lot & really hoping the girls don't stress out on this trip. I know I'm excited to be stepping foot back into the parks this quickly....... :yay: Glad I bought that AP!!!

eck270.jpg

Not a good picture, but this is Michayla in her new Minnie Cheerleader Outfit we got her at Disneyland!!! She doesn't walk yet...notice her foot turned way out...that's part of the problem.

eck272.jpg

This is Shyann in her new outfit as well!!!

They look so sweet in their outfits. I hope he does well with his interview. I am saying a prayer. Taking the girls during the week is the best, it isn't nearly as busy so that is good. And the fact that you have been recently you know which rides to avoid.:goodvibes
