Not sure if I should get my hopes up again or not, but I just spoke with my doctors office and they have BOTH shots available - seasonal and H1N1.. Unfortunately my doctor is on vacation right now and won't be back until next week - and they are only giving the shots to patients who are high risk.. When I explained what my risks were (this is a new office that my doctor recently moved to), I was told that I definitely qualify..
However, the shots have to be approved and administered by my own doctor, so I'll have to wait until next week to set up an appointment..
PLEASE keep your fingers crossed that this does not fall through.. If I'm able to get the shots, then I can return to my DD's just about in time for Thanksgiving..![]()
The regular flu shot has been available for some time-we got ours back in early OctoberIts my understanding that the elderly, like yourself , are on the bottom of the list for H1N1 shot, so not understanding your panic.
Besides, if you dont get the shot-are you going to stay in an uninsulated lake house all winter??

. Actually, any age with compromised immune systems or serious medical issues, as C.Ann has, are considered high risk and are on 'priority' list. Having some health issues myself, and also working in day care, I got the seasonal flu shot and thankfully was able to get an H1N1. Not being available in all areas for the many who truly need it, I'm sure can cause some anxiousness. Hopes that helps.
