...

I re read my post and hope it didn't come out wrong. We're buddies so I hope you know it was meant with only the best intentions. I was just trying to provide another perspective that maybe you hadn't thought of. And in the end if you want it that is all that matters and you know I will support ya :goodvibes

I wouldn't let it bother you dear. You just need to repeat to yourself that its your wedding and really only you and DF need to like everything. I have given up on getting certain people being into the wedding because they just don't get it. My FMIL is the same way and doesn't understand why I want certain things. But in the end you don't want to do things to please everyone else, the worst thing would be looking back on your day and thinking 'why did I listen to them?' Trust your instincts I think you will be fine. I agree on the whole DF asking his brother to be in the wedding. Unless he is close to him and really wants him there, he shouldn't feel pressure. His brother probably won't say no but if he doesn't want to be GM it will probably be obvious.

hang in there. I think everything is looking great!

On a positive note, I am moving today from my cubicle into an office!! Even though my job SUCKS this week, I am moving away from the negativity in my department and now will not be the only manager without an office

Do you get a window? :goodvibes I've forgotten what they are.

So, if he asks his brother does that mean I get to walk down (or up I suppose) the aisle with a guy on each arm????:thumbsup2 There are definitely no rules about uneven bridal parties. One of the weddings I photographed last month there were 2 MOHs and 4 bridesmaids with only 4 groomsmen. Then there is the one I photographed last weekend. It was even but the bride had one of her gay guy friends on her side so one of the guys got to walk up the aisle with him...hilarious!!!:lmao:

Oh, and I like your animal print cake IMO:lovestruc

So here's a little update:
We also showed them some of our inspiration pics (bouquet, suit, etc.). They really had nothing to say until we showed them the cake...his mom laughed and asked if we were serious:confused3 I don't think she really liked it. I also showed her pictures of my dress to which she said, It's nice. I know she doesn't have daughters but I guess I was hoping she'd say more than, it's nice. Eric says that's just how they are and not to take it personal. Oh well.

While that wasn't very nice at all, I agree with the previous poster that it probably wasn't they were expecting. Just do what you think is fitting for your wedding.

And dude, cake is cake. Who cares what kind of fondant or butter cream it has or what it looks like. As long as it is tasty! :rotfl: I personally love the animal print cake, but quick question about it. Are you going to stick with the natural print colors or apply your wedding color scheme? Like a green layer of cheetah and a blue layer of zebra? I think that would be fun!

Out of boredom (Okay, I lied, not out of boredom. I was looking for photos to illustrate my thought of colored animal prints, but ended up posting the same inspiration picture you had of a purple mad hatter. Ooops! Haha! So I have a different picture to show instead!), I searched for other animal print cakes because they are so fun, and I fell in LOVE with this one. Not that I am trying to change your mind or anything! :rotfl::

And yay to an office! You are moving on up! :goodvibes Hmm, I have a strange urger to watch a certain 70's sitcom now... haha!

Another thought: You should totally try and find a Safari Mickey and Minnie figurine for a cake topper. That would be so epic! :thumbsup2

I was so excited to get my own office..but I traded a window for a private bathroom. When you work in construction, a private bathroom in your office is MUCH better than a window!! I put nice rugs, candles and made it look like a spa! It is the little things!

That would make me fall asleep instead of work! :rotfl: But it sounds lovely!

OK OMG!!! Eric will disagree with me because I know how much he loves his cake but I LOVE LOVE LOVE that cake!!! One of my original thoughs was to do our cake but in shades of white so it would be very subtle. Hmmm...I might have to show him that cake...Your the best !!!

Maybe you can let him pick the animal print that makes up the black and white portion? Or maybe just do the different animal prints per layer like he likes, but just in black and white. Then just find some blue/green ribbon to bring for the cake baker to use (I know way back when that was a concern of yours, picking the right color). :thumbsup2 I like helping! :rotfl:

Haha that's what Eric wants!!! I actually voted for a giraffe couple...you know the kind that have their necks entwined?? Or elephants since I am a big collector of elephants...trunks up are lucky!!

Ha! Great minds think alike! Maybe find a Mickey/Minnie topper and smaller animal figurines like you want to decorate the table? Or put the animal ones at the sweetheart table. Very nice keepsakes to display around the house! :goodvibes

I hear ya with the "that's nice" comment from DF's family-My DF's mother said that when I showed her the WP!!!...Soooo frustrating! But it's your day (and DF's) My family is happy with the choices..we're happy...so there!
You and DF have to be happy...if you love the cake..then that is the cake you should have...:3dglasses

No it didn't come out wrong!! I know you guys are just offering friendly opinions/advice. I'm just having a rough week. Thanks

How did the move into your new office go? Is it fantastic?? Cubicles are the worst!

What shade of blue are your shoes? I was watching "Say Yes To the Dress" (I just discovered this show tonight!) and this woman had the most beautiful bridesmaids dresses. They were short and fun and they looked like a similiar blue to your shoes. What is the name of that shade??

I wish I had taken notice of that blue when I got married. Green is my favorite color so I was very stuck on it and honestly didn't look at any other bridesmaids dress colors. I wish I'd gone with something brighter. I think bright looks overwhelming if you have a ton of bridesmaids. But I only had two so it probably would have worked. Oh well. Too late now. LOL.

I just can't for the life of me think of the name of the shade.

While trying to find it, I came across this and it reminded me of your invitations. (I know you already have a bridesmaids dress. I'm just really bored. LOL.)

IT's really cute isn't it!!

It went well...after a bit of drama. At the last minute I found out one of the executives thought he was going to use the office for his new manager. Ultimately my boss fought for me and I still go the office. It turns out there is still room elsewhere for his employee (that actually makes more sense!!) Oh office politics!!

Oh that is a cute dress. The shoes were dyed to match the invitations and that color is cornflower.

Oh and I love Say Yes to The Dress and am bummed that I missed the marathon last night. I am lucky that I got to see Jeter hit #2722!!!:cool1:

So when will you get to move to the office? I'm glad you go it!

I watched a few of the episodes last night and then I DVRed a bunch so I'm going to watch them later. It's very entertaining!
