$225 a night for AKL a good deal.......really??

I have a Standard View room booked at AKL for Nov 5-8. I used what is suppose to be the "40 %" off code. $225 still seems like a lot to me? Am I missing things or have room rates gone up that much? It seemed like a few years ago I could get WL or AKL for $170 with a AP 40% off code?

What is the best deal for that week and how would you recommend I book it? I have been of of the "DIS" a few years and could really use some help.

We will have 2 adults, 9 yr old, 2 yr old and don't want to do the dining plan. I would be grateful for any ideas.

I have a Savannah view room for the night of 10/22 (a Friday) w/ a 40% CM rate for 3 ppl (meaning an extra $25) at it was $308 including tax. It is just plan expensive...I've never paid that much for a hotel room ever - and I've stayed in an italian palace!

I just read the specials page on the Disney site and it has an asterick next to the 40% off. If you read further down it says AKL is only a 25% discount.

Rack rate for an AKL standard view for your dates is $300.....but lately AKL has only been 25% rather than 40%, as well as the GF being just 30% and not 40% . So if you take rack rate of $300 and subtract 25% (which is $75), your rate is $225/nt.

ugg...25% off! That stinks. Well...at least it's something. I keep trying to get Wilderness Resort, but it's sold out. Thanks for the help! I love the DIS!

I have rented points from DVC member in past and paid 120 - no tax - for savannah room..So yes that seems high to me...
