I have gone from 84 lbs. up to 90 lbs. !!!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm so excited I'm even going to buy a new scale - LOL.. Mine is pretty old and since I'm an Avon Rep, I can purchase a good one for a decent price.. So - next week when I send in my order, I'm going to include the Curves scale which is currently on sale.. It has a large LED digital readout with precision accuracy that measures to 1/10th of a pound..

While 115 lbs. is where I "should" be, I'd be very, very happy if I could just get up to 105 lbs... At that point, my clothes might actually fit me - rather than falling off.. Keep your fingers crossed that I continue to gain..:goodvibes

I'm so glad to hear you've had a breakthrough :thumbsup2 . I've got leftover Christmas cookies I could send you to help you gain weight ;) .

That's great! I hope they find out what it is soon.

That's wonderful! I know how hard it can be to put weight back on. My mother had that problem. I bought Ensure Plus and Boost Plus all the time for her. I cooked for her so I would know she had nutritious meals. She just didn't have much of an appetite. It can be such a struggle to put that weight on. Glad you're feeling better and have a little more energy. I hope it stays that way! Six pounds is a good jump!

Come live with me. I can make ANYONE fat. ;)

Have you had the DIS play House MD with your symptoms? Sorry, I haven't been following what you've been dealing with...

I think I may still look into the weight gaining powders..

That's wonderful! I'm so glad to hear that you are gaining on it! (pun not intended) I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers to gaining more and getting back to being healthier!! :goodvibes

ahhh, you have the opposite problem that so many of us have!

Glad things are turning around a little for you.

Yay C. Ann!:cool1: Good for you! Keep up the good work (eating;) )

Congratulations on the wonderful improvement. Life is so much better when we feel good (or at least better!) :goodvibes

For the weights, I'm a little worried that even the 3 lb weights might be a little too much and you don't want to strain those hand and wrist muscles. Is it possible for you to grip a can of soup, or even a small can of vegetables and start with that? The best advice is to have the doctor or PT set up a program for you, however until then, I suggest not overdoing it at the beginning, and using the lightest weight possible.

Congratulations again! Hope you have more good days than bad. :goodvibes

I think I may still look into the weight gaining powders.. I figure it can't hurt - right? At this point I just need weight - no matter "how" I get it..

I'm also considering dragging out the hand weights to see if I can regain some of the strength in my hands and arms.. Just not sure how to start out.. Like maybe 5 a day with each arm? :confused3 I have 3 lb. weights and 5 lb. weights..

C.Ann, just out of curiosity, any chance you are taking Ambien? I ask this because I had a similar situation a couple of years ago. I suddenly started having all sorts of gastric issues. I also started losing weight. I wasn't doing anything to try to lose weight. I had a hard time eating because my stomach was a mess. I had both an endoscopy and colonoscopy. They didn't find anything. The doctor had no idea what was causing my problem. Then, I stopped taking Ambien CR. My problems cleared up. No more stomach issues and I started gaining weight. Sometimes, drugs can have odd side effects.

Anyway, I hope you figure out what is going on soon. It's no fun feeling bad all the time.

Read your 1st post and decided to post-sorry if this has been said already.

A good buddy of my (what am I a trucker:confused: )anyway, had to put on weight for the police acad. so he started drinking his wifes' slimfast WITH a full meal. It worked for him. Really ticked her off-she was trying to lose weight:lmao:

Good Luck!

Interesting.. I drink at least 6 Boost a day - and now when I'm eating anything, rather than just plain whole milk, I put chocolate syrup in it.. Anything I can think of to sneak in a few more calories..;)

So pleased to hear this news. Hope they can figure the cause of the problem.

Thanks for sharing.

Trish

Can you tolerate eggs? We recently had a thread about deviled eggs that reminded me eating 6 eggs a day is what finally put the pregnancy weight up to where my MD wanted. Of course you would want the eggs plain no spices i would assume.
