Howard Johnson's in the WDW area?

Could you please post your experiences if you ever stayed at one?

I'll let you know in a few weeks. We found great airfare and will be in landing Orlando on a Friday night about 11pm in June. Our WDW ressies don't begin til Saturday, so we are staying at HoJo Maingate East that night. Our filght leaves Orlando at 7am the next Sunday and we WERE going to stay there again the last night. But I just couldn't do it. I thought what a let down it would be to stay an entire week in those beautiful DVC villas, then spend the last one at HoJos, so we booked POFQ the last night!!!!

Hi C. Ann...How did you get the $29 a night rate. I'm going Dec 2-15 and Dreamres keeps giving me a rate of $39 a night. Any info is appreciated.

Our August 2000 trip was at HOJO on West 192/with the covered pool; great location right outside WDW along with near shops/restaurants..etc. Our room was clean, spacious, service/staff all around excellent, property in great condition, and would definitely stay there again; price was $52 a night. Hope this helps; let me know if I can answer anymore questions!

Hi again C. Ann...I'm still getting a quote of $39 a night no matter what nights of the month I put in. That's still not bad but just my luck...People talk about staying at the All Stars for $49 a night and the least I've ever seen is $74 a night. I'm staying 13 nights so money is a BIG
concern for me. Like you all I really want in a hotel is cheap, clean, and safe. Oh well, I'll keep trying.

i also stayed at HoJo Maingate East. we were there for a week in march. it was clean, comfortable, safe, convenient, etc. i'd recommend it if you can get a good rate there..

but if you like pools, the HoJoMGE's was relatively lacking. it was safe though. we always parked our car outside our door (we were on second floor) just in case. nothing happened though. staff was helpful, too.
