I don't think anyone else has mentioned it but Lynne and her husband arrived at the hotel in a Honda. Now I don't want anyone to think I am dissing people who drive Honda's but it doesn't really fit the image of what a "Housewife" is suppose to be.

I mean, the do-nothing daughter gets a BMW (albeit used) for her Bday and she doesn't have her license yet but the parents drive a Honda?!? No wonder these people are wacked!!

Now, as for Ryan and the cousin and what was in her pocket, etc!!! OMG, there must be a gene in that family that makes them classless. Don't even get me started on Tamra and her dad stopping and sitting down with the beer.

I sort of loved the road trip with Jeana and Kara but I couldn't figure out why they didn't have some tupperware storage containers instead of a zillion shopping bags full of stuff. As for Frankie, say what you want but he has some major $$$$ tied up in inventory.

As for Vicki, her son is an unmotivated sloth, and the only reason she didn't start yelling at him was because her people were nearby. I can't see him ever reaching the level of success of his mother. Vicki is crazy but I do believe she is very motivated.

Michael could be on Tool Academy, Shane and Ryan could co-star with him.

Now I saved the best for last, Gretchen. How many places has she been since filming started? She was in Michigan and Ohio with Jeff early in the season, ok, I have no problem with that. Since he has been uber sick, she has been to Bass Lake, San Diego (the gym visit), Dallas and Las Vegas with the girls. Am I missing any trips?

OK, I'm done.... I will miss these girls when this season is over, I really do love them...

Is it just me or does Vicki's company seem almost like one of those multi-level marketing deals? THe more people you have under you, the more you make. Like Mary Kay or something, only you are selling insurance.

Tool Academy is the most ridiculous reality show on VH1. All of these guys (very narcissistic, ego-maniac, arrogant men or "tools") think they are on this show competing for the title of "Mr. Awesome" and prize money but then they find out their girlfriends really submitted them to the "Tool Academy". Every week they go to therapy with their girlfriends and do competitions to stay in the house (the couple who's there in the end gets money) and work on their relationships. Every week a guy is voted off and then his girlfriend has to decide whether to leave with him or leave him. I swore I wouldn't watch it when I first saw previews but it has so sucked me in!!

BTW, I love Ashley and Josh too but I just couldn't believe when he was making fun of her being fat! I felt so bad for her. But I do think he was truly sorry (at least at the time).

Back to the O.C., Vicki's "Insurance Business" does seem very much like a Mary Kay type of thing. I thought it was funny when she said over a thousand people were supposed to show up and the camera pans to the 8 people sitting in the class .

You can argue that "Real Housewives" is maddening or delicious, depressing or ridiculous, a symbol of the vapid, mindless consumption that has sunk the economy and scrambled the American consciousness or a tongue-in-cheek takedown of same. I mean, just look at these women and how they're presented, the raccoon eyes and the god-awful fake breasts, the fried hair and yanked-up faces. Are any of them ever shown reading a book or seeing a play? Visiting a museum (for the record, the Galleria is not one), picking up a newspaper or having a conversation about anything that mattered at all? Of course not. These housewives of Orange County are too busy downing tequila shooters, redecorating their redecorated houses, admiring their cosmetic surgery and wondering why their kids are so screwed up (!) to have actual lives. They embody the moral, spiritual and intellectual anorexia that writers have grappled with for years, but in terms a child can understand. Cheever for Dummies.

Wow, I was watching Rock of Love the other night and never realized that was her dad! I thought it was so crazy she stayed on the show instead of leaving to be with her family and go to the funeral for a guy 30 years older and she'd known for a month.

These reality show stars like to ride the reality bus as long as possible.

OT, it's like Eric Nies (sp?) from the first Real World almost 20 years ago is on "Confessions of a Teen Idol" on VH1 with actual ACTORS that WERE teen idols. That just blows my mind.

Wow...I watch Rock of Love ans saw that episode..I had no idea that the girl was Jeffs daughter. I thought the only kids he had were the ones they showed on tv.

Yes, that is definitely them. AND that is definitely Newport Beach. I live in NB. This city is absolutely breathe-taking. The views are just awesome. We have only been here six months but every day we love it even more. But that is not the house we see Gretchen in in the show.
