But I did manage to get the challenge and 5k for my sister. Whew, this is stressful. Still better than a lottery.

If you're already in the club, you'll get a window to renew at your current level or to upgrade (if available). They start with platinum, then gold, then silver, then open what's left to the public. So you have to hope some platinums and golds decide not to renew, or to bump down a level, in order to upgrade during your window.

I guess that’s what I’m saying though - I doubt there will ever be much availability if having club rundisney is the only way to guarantee entry. No one will want to drop out.

Social media has ruined these races and no one can convince me otherwise. I’m all for people taking up a healthy hobby, but it seems like a huge part of the attraction now to RunDisney is driven by what people can share on instagram. And “perfect seasons.”

I'm in for the Challenge thanks to @GuinnessRunner being able to register for me - I would not have gotten in otherwise as my first window finally cleared 2 minutes after it sold out.

With no Queue IDs this is going to make registration much more interesting.

I just grabbed a charity bib through Give Kids The World for the challenge. The Challenge and Half Marathon are showing sold out but they still have spots for the 5k ($750 all in) and 10k ($950 all in).

That's what I'm doing too. My window that was under 40 minutes is still open, showing more than an hour, but the progress bar is still moving...

I was able to get all 6 of us (3 adults 3 kids) for the 5K and DH and I for the half. I got lucky, one of my browsers showed 35 minutes at the beginning and I was able to register around 10:25. My husband and brother in law all got more than an hour. Thankfully I was the one to get in since we can't share links anymore!

RD tends to have runners who do multiple events every year. Part of me wonders if the recent media blitz during MW is an attempt by RD to push out these people and bring in first timers who are more likely to splurge on rooms and merch. Why advertise something that sells out already? We already know that WDW hates AP holders because they spend less than one-time visitors. I’ve been doing WD since 2011, and this is the first time I’ve been shut out of everything.

Wow, ugly out there today. I can't believe how quickly things sold out, although with all the media and the Disneyland races going away for a while, I guess I should have. I was stressed but not as stressed as I would have been had I known how quickly they would go. I got in by 15/20 minutes or so.

Best one at 100 minutes in is now at 36 minutes. Too bad the balloon ladies for the queue already left and went to La Cava to celebrate...

Now I'm wondering if they're holding back 5k bibs for later or something. There's no way they added so many extra bibs that they're changing the starting line process, but everything sold out in less than an hour and a half. Something's not lining up...

When they first announced the expanded 5k my guess was roughly 20-25 percent more bibs, basically one corral's worth. Still not sure what it'll end up being but this doesn't seem like they've fully doubled the field.

Yeah I can't imagine they added too many extra 5k bibs, just logistically, even with a different race start process. The 5k sold out last, which is different, so they definitely added more bibs. But the demand for an Aristocats 5k was really big, I'm sure.

FWIW, I did indeed hear a chime when it was my turn to register.
