2026 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

I love W&D weekend and being able to hit F&W too makes it perfect. Except that it’s too close to MW and I really can’t justify 2 Disney trips in such a short time. Also I entered the Chicago Marathon lottery and in the unlikely situation that I get in that will be our big fall trip. I never say never for W&D but probably not in 26.

2 questions. When do we think they will announce registration and has anyone ever used a Disney babysitter service over a race weekend? I think all the adults will run the half and my 9 year old will be with us. I know Disney has a babysitting service, at least they used to, but I don't know if it starts early enough for the races.

Do you prefer to get in earlier in the week of staying past the races?

I’m debating how to do the Halloween Party at MK, and enjoying parks a bit more.

This year I did the party the night before the 5k, stayed past midnight.. then next day a nap during the day, and staying up until fireworks.. at starting line of the HM I just wanted to sleep lol

Getting earlier (i.e Monday/Tuesday, which could become the Friday before lol).. is nice, more days in.. but I fear overdoing my standing time

Arriving for the expo and then extending the day has the advantage of being at the parks without worrying much for the feet/standing… but means coming back to the office on Wed or so… it feels weird..

Or do you split the travels, focused on races va focused on park time?

We usually arrive on Tuesday before races and leave on Thursday after them. We do park time every day. Generally, crowds and wait times are lower on M-W after most of the runners leave than they are before the races.

I usually do Wednesday to Wednesday for race weekend trips. I would definitely worry about too much standing by arriving too much ahead of expo day.

We are looking to do Thursday to Sunday. Thursday so we can hit the expo before the 4k. It will be my son's first Disney 5k and then we want to stay to do the Epcot party Sunday night. I'll have to take my son out of school for 3 days and one of the people in our party is a teacher and only gets to use 3 non-illness days so that is the best for us.

Never too early to talk hotels, right?

Some nice D23 rates at the Swan and Dolphin for Thursday-Monday. You can get free D23 gold if you have Disney+ (setup is a little fiddly but if you call in, support is usually helpful), and you can find your digital D23 membership card in the D23 app which I imagine is enough proof to show at check-in.

D23 rate is E2660:

AP rate is not quite as good, code QWH:

I believe these codes pull from the same pool of rooms, so if you have been using QWH in the past, you should definitely use the D23 rate instead as even paying the $50 annual membership is worth the savings over the AP rate.

I will be in for the challenge (perfect status) and a celebration of the big 5-0. Bringing my family with this year, but the bestie, who I normally travel with, will be there with her hubby. Normally we do Wed-Mon (I'm a teacher and only get 4 personal days now), but we're debating our accommodations based on military rate availability, so might do Thurs-Tues. We'll see. Need to make a decision ASAP!
