2025 Moonlight magic

I will be there with family and friends for the January date, we have 3 reservations under my DVC account. I believe I saw before I can make reservations for everyone traveling with me even in different rooms, is that correct? Has anyone done this before? I assume I have to make one at a time referencing each reservation number, or do they just ask for membership number?
We registered for multiple rooms for the most recent MM event at DHS and it's very easy. Just make sure you have the appropriate number of people listed on your room reservations. If you need (for example) 12 spots, you need to have at least 12 people listed across all of your room reservations. While children under the age of 3 are supposed to be included on room reservations, they don't need to be counted when you register for the MM event.

Thanks for your feedback, I actually will have one under 3 with us so I should reserve one less person when reserving for moonlight magic, right? Do the tickets get linked to magic bands/profiles or when we checkin they just check my dvc card and count however many people I have a reservation for?

Just count people 3 and older for your MM registration. For the WDW MM events, you check in and they issue wristbands (everyone must be present). Unless they've changed it again, they will want to scan the QR code on your Disney MagicMobile Pass from your smartphones wallet app.

I just noticed the park hours for 1/26 at HS is showing it closes at 9. Assuming the event starts at 9 what time would be the earliest to enter the park? 7?

If the park closes at 9 pm, early entry would begin at 7 pm (or a little before) and the actual event will not start until 9:30 pm.

Is it normally this late? This would be our first chance to register for a Moonlight Magic and I have no idea how far in advance you usually can book.
Sometimes yes. Looking back at a couple of MM emails from earlier this year, registration for the Oct 24, 2024 MM began on Sep 19, 2024; just 35 days.

And even earlier in the year, registration for the Feb 27, 2024 MM began on Feb 1, 2024; only 26 days!

You should receive the MM registration info email 1 day in advance of registration if they see that you are eligible and have a qualifying reservation.

Would be ideal to register earlier, especially if you have reservation so there is time to cancel if you don't get a spot.

We booked a bounce back from our stay earlier this year for January. We are not using our DVC membership but this is only the second t8me we will be in FL for a MM event and so we (I) have been stalking the DVC site and finally landed one night in a 1br at Saratoga using our points. I had called MS and they wanted 29 pts and $95 for a room at Riverside Coronado. We are staying at Coronado GDT with the BB but that room is not worth $600.

Now, I just have to hope we are able to register….. oh, and a studio at Riviera popped up this morning but we don’t have any direct pts available because we use those up at 11 months.

A studio opened up at Kidani so we switched but it is only 39 days until the event…. I know someone said it could be as close as 20so ething days before the event but we rarely there during MM :)

congratulations on booking a studio. Since they haven't announced registration yet, hopefully it's booked early enough to qualify for early registration.

It should be early enough since they have not sent out the emails and I had I booked a 1BR earlier this month and modified it, so I should be good since I am using my membership. But, there was no way I way paying the $95 transaction fee and using 30 something pts for a village room at Coronado.

By go live do you mean when you can reserve?

Each park's MM registration occurs on a different date.
New direct member, so apologies for not knowing - do all the dates per park register on the same date? I'm looking at the HS one, and there is one event in January and one in September. Do both those dates register at the same time? It looks like they do on the Disney site, but I can't tell for sure.

No - the Jan 2025 should be announced any day now. The Sept 2025 will be many months away.

I am confused about when you can actually enter the parks for MM. I see that in past years that you could get in the parks in advance (2-3 hours) yet the info recently sent out by DVC today via email specifically says “If you wish to enter a park before the event, valid theme park admission and a valid reservation are required”.

Does this mean there is a change for 2025 or do they always officially say this but unofficially let people in early?

Thx for any info

I believe, and just went and confirmed on my AK confirmation email, that language is always there, so I presume the last 2-3 hours before park closing is considered part of the event.

Separate Q: we happened to be at WDW for 1-26 and DLR for 2/3, does anybody know if I can register for them both with the same VQ number or do I have to get lucky with two separate low VQ numbers to be able to register both?

The MM webpage says this:
  • Entry prior to the event mix-in time requires a separate paid theme park admission and park reservation.
Mix-in time would be early event entry time.
