2022 Bookings Now Open

Well i booked for marathon weekend hoping it actually takes place. the fun part is when marathon weekend is. Jan 8 is Saturaday and half marathon day. We usually come in the week before, which is Sat Jan 1. I was able to book that night but then i was like hey can i get in for NYE. Nope. I might keep checking though. Only issue is i don't stay up late on NYE and especially not if i have a race the following week. Also the sad part is that i am planning it would be our usual two weeks. I would leave on Sunday Jan 16. One day before my bday :(. However might change that but have to see how things go. I am hopeful we have a marathon to run.

Kris, I just booked a Tent campsite arriving Mon Jan 17, 2022 and out on Fri Jan 21, 2022 before heading down to Naples. But before the Fort I have a couple days already booked at Lake Louisa SP (wanted to try a short stay and not just the one-nighter I typically do). If you were to celebrate your birthday a little early at the Fort, we would come over and help you celebrate being another year older. :bday:

PS - will you be moving into a new age category in race results with this birthday coming up? :rolleyes1

Absolutely will be celebrating a little early. We can have a party.

I will not be moving into a new age group with this bday and no extra time for BQ, but that is ok.

By the way, my weekday rate for Jan 2022 was $81 per night plus tax for a Tent campsite.

If I had come in on the weekend before (which is the 3 day MLK holiday rate period), the Tent site was $96 per night. If I had stayed for the weekend after, the Tent site was $91 plus tax (regular weekend rate). Then the higher spring rates kick in and on Sunday the 23rd the weekday rate is higher at $95 plus tax (versus the $81 I got in the value time).

And get this - the first weekend of the higher spring rates, the TENT campsite, the least expensive category, mind you, is $128 per night plus tax on the weekend rate. That 50%+ more than what I am paying the week before. :sad2:

And these are Tent rates. I'm sure the other categories follow suit.

Bama Ed

PS - checking the least expensive full hook-up category, the Full sites are $156 plus tax for that first spring weekend rate in late January 2022 versus $117 the weekend before (the last value weekend rate in January).

$132 per night for weekday during off season (End of January) - guess I won't be staying at the Fort in 2022!

I just booked a package for January 9, 2022 - January 22, 2022!!!!!

I saw a new option when putting in our equipment, awning and slides. It is called "Request a Nearby Campsite". It lets you request to be near another person's reservation.

@Teamubr does that mean you want my reservation number :)
Nah, I already put in your name, although it doesn't let me put in a check in date before mine.
Looks like Kris is gonna have one heck of a birthday party at the Fort! :cool1: :cake::rockband:

I didn't see that screen, Jim, but maybe because I'm in a Tent loop.
Always a good reason for a party!

I almost missed it, Ed. Right after you select your equipment, there was a section titled Campsite Requests with a little blue hyperlink that said "Change". I wasn't sure what it meant, so I clicked on it. I initially thought it was to request a 2nd floor site or one near the elevator like we could do a few years ago. :lmao:

I was looking for spring break since DD would be going with HS band. Problem is knowing which week. Spring break here keeps changing. For several years it was 2nd week of March, then this year its 3rd week...

So, I booked two separate trips. One for 2nd week and another for third week. I'll just have to cancel whichever one we don't use.

Okay. I remember checking the "Pop Up Camper" button.

2022 packages are available per Teamubr and the DIS confirms.

https://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories/2022-walt-disney-world-resort-vacation-packages-now-available/

Remember the max booking window is that your CHECK-IN day has to be at MOST 500 days from the day you make the reservation. The maximum length of a reservation can be 30 days. Also, keep in mind that a 500 day interval means 499 nights so you see the 499/500 and days/nights used interchangeably. But technically that's the rule.

So reservations made today can arrive as far out as July 1, 2022.

Oh decisions decisions. We had a trip to the Fort planned last year for my dd's 7th bday which is March 15th, the day they actually shut down. We managed to last minute it on a plane and stayed at pop century and got 2 days in at the park, but it was not the big week long trip in the camper that I had planned.

Can't go this March cause of school travel restrictions and the kids would have to quarantine when we got back.

So now I want to plan a re-do for her 9th bday next year. Looking at dates we can go on her actual bday and go March 12th to 20th and they will miss 4 days of school which is rough now that the oldest is in junior high.

OR we can go April 14th to 24th for their nice long spring break (catholic school lol).

campsite prices are the same both weeks at $213 a night for a preferred (hoping to get 100 loop!) but park ticket prices are actually cheaper for the April trip. I would have thought the week after Easter would be more crowded so I'm surprised by this but maybe since it's so late they are thinking of less crowded?

What would you guys do if this was your choice? Are there Easter happenings at the Fort? It's not enough money to make the "cheaper" prices better, just trying to figure out crowd wise which would be better......

Great news for some. Sadly, I'm not sure if we are going to make it to WDW in 2022. The lack of available AP's has really put a crimp in our plans. Time will tell but, for now, we just stand pat in a wait and see mode! Luckily, we don't travel at those peak demand dates, so availability is typically less of an issue for us. Time will tell!

I ended up booking a 15 night reservation with one night deposit and will change either the checkin or checkout date as soon as I know definitively.

I would go in April. Kids won't miss school and the week after Easter is generally much better than the week leading into the Easter Weekend. (I've been the week before Easter twice. Never again.) March is Spring Break for colleges and many other schools, which is probably why those tickets cost more.

I hope you get the 100 loop. It's my favorite.

Woo Hoo the pixie dust worked and we just booked The Fort - two Premium sites preferrably 1100 loop for April 24-May 1, 2022!!!!!!! :tink:At the same time a reminder popped up on my computer today to book Dining and Fast Pass reservations for the trip we had to cancel for this April 🤪 Sent a message to Meacham's RV to hopefully book a trailer for our daughter and her family and we'll reset the countdown clock for our next trip to our favourite "Home Away From Home".

We are booked for our first stay at The Fort (since childhood) in Jan 2022!! :dogdance: I called to try to book a golf cart rental but rentals aren’t open yet. Any suggestions on how to find out when they will open?
