2019 EBPC - Packing must-haves

Suggestions on items everyone was GLAD they brought during this November cruise.
Looking to pack as light as possible.

Our last PC cruise was in September, super hot. Weather this time says mid 80's.

Super super hot the Canal day with very high humidity. Lots of sunscreen. You won’t need any cool weather clothes. A hat and sunglasses. Skipped all the dress up nights. A water bottle would have been nice.

We did the EBPC several years ago. Binoculars to see everything up close. Hot and humid. Don't suddenly want to have bangs. I did it and it was a wet plastered mat of hair on my forehead the entire trip. Not a single of photo of me, it was that bad. Light and airy clothes because it is really hot and humid. I lived in Miami for two years, and PC was 10 times worse. Mid 80's, yeah right, and the humidity? We're going to do the EBPC soon and I'll be ready for it.

Light clothes for sure and a camera. Drink plenty of water and cool off frequently, but be sure to take in the many views.

A waterproof camera, especially with Cayman and Cozumel shorex. Great underwater shooting possibilities - plus you can stand in the rain on the boat and shoot too.

Water shoes too. And even with all the rain, a boonie hat for the sun. Definitely a refillable bottle or sealable cup.

I would bring a sweater, we went in April and it was HOT HOT HOT near the Canal and South America but got really cold going up along the California Coast. I'd pack in light layers. Near the equator there are 2 seasons 'hot and rainy' and 'hot and dry', the actual temperature doesn't vary much. Also a good hat and lots of sunscreen. Have fun, we went west bound but was one of our favorite all time trips!

I was on a PC Cruise this January. Water, sun hat and light weight clothes are what’s needed. This was in Columbia.

After looking at the recent weather, I would also add a fleece or sweatshirt to the list. For the Pacific side. Gulf side is still warm enough not to worry about that. At least until you get to Galveston (20+ degrees cooler than the Caymans).

I would definitely bring a sweater or hoodie, but not for the coast, but on the ship. Several places in the ship were freezing. While we weren't bothered by them, I would suggest bringing mosquito repellent just in case. An umbrella also came in handy in Colombia. We really had incredible weather and it was not as hot, nor did it rain the entire time we were in the Canal, as in past cruises. But I did wear lightweight clothes.

I totally agree with @disneyfaninaz . It rained the last half of the tour through Cartagena. All day long we were inundated with vendors selling us useless stuff. The minute it starts pouring, no where was a vendor to be found, especially anyone selling umbrellas!!! What a missed opportunity. Get a good umbrella, it POURS when it rains there.

I totally agree with @disneyfaninaz . It rained the last half of the tour through Cartagena. All day long we were inundated with vendors selling us useless stuff. The minute it starts pouring, no where was a vendor to be found, especially anyone selling umbrellas!!! What a missed opportunity. Get a good umbrella, it POURS when it rains there.

I agree with the relentless vendors and the missed opportunity for umbrellas, however, they did not disappear when it rained, they just clogged the sidewalks under the eaves so you couldn't get by!

LOL. I wish they were on the sidewalks. Ended up running shop to shop back to the ship. Dumped the tour. Guide wanted to stay in his "buddy's" shop until it stopped raining. We were drenched when we finally got on board, and it was still pouring.

My youngest just reminded me - sundae fixings such as sprinkles, chopped nuts, and fudge. The challenge is to get your hands on some whipped cream . . .
