2018 Watch: All 2018 Itineraries are announced as of May 11th, 2017!

Nothing could be worse than the Pride of America - which solidly bad reviews didn't even prepare us for how truly bad it was. I didn't read many bad reviews about the Breakaway before we left, but didn't do that much research as the pricing and itinerary were exactly what we wanted. But it was our first cruise on NCL after the horrid experience in 2008 on POA. The Breakway's rooms and food were good, their shows fantastic and the free specialty restaurants really some of the best. We just hated how the spread the casino was spread out across the whole deck and so that the only way to get from point A to point B on that deck was to walk through the smoke filled areas. We started going up one deck and down to avoid it. If the price were right, I'd take it again because they were the only line that stayed the most days.
Thanks for the review. I really like the look of the NCL Bliss. I may forgo The Baltics next year and go to Alaska. We've been on 21 cruises and still haven't seen Alaska and we live so close. Just waiting to see what DCL and Royal have to offer next Summer. Due to the Cost of DCL I've pretty much eliminated them unless they offer a late May Baltics again. My kids get out around May 20 any later in the Summer on DCL the prices get too high.

Are there any rumors yet for the Magic & Wonder in fall 2018? I know the Dream & Fantasy will probably be up to the same type itineraries.

Can't stop thinking about our fabulous Eastern Carib cruise on the Fantasy last month. Hoping to book the Western itinerary for November 2018.
She's a great ship isn't she?? We love her so much!

We're booked on the Magic this fall from NYC, so excited. It will complete our Grand Slam.

LOVED the Fantasy! Thought we might feel overwhelmed since she's bigger than the Wonder but apart from a bit more walking lol we loved the ship. I'm excited to be on the Wonder later this year to see all the improvements. Enjoy the Magic and congrats on your Grand Slam :thumbsup2

I'm hoping to book a 7-Night next fall. Haven't done one that length and figured it'd be a great way to celebrate my birthday!

We did a 13 night Ultimate Scandinavia & Russia on the Serenade of the Seas in July with our 7-yr old daughter. We had 3 days in St. Petersburg and only 1 sea day. Our balcony room was 1/3 the cost of what it would have been on DCL. It was an absolutely amazing cruise. It was so port intensive that going on DCL would have been a waste. We had a super group from Cruise Critic and did all of our port excursions. Highly recommend the Baltics! We're waiting for RCI & NCL summer 2018 European itineraries...may even consider Alaska again - just haven't decided what cruise line.

Somewhat intricate question here. If I book a 2018 opening day (or any day for that matter) then go on a cruise this year, would I be able to apply that booking deposit to an on board booking? Or, do on board bookings need to be new booking only? (hopefully this question makes sense)

You can re-shop the cruise to see if you could get a lower rate, but you'd have put down a new deposit. They would cancel the prior booking and refund that deposit to you. I've done that more than once - I just put the initial deposit onto the new reservation as soon as it's refunded. They are even able to get the same cabin for you - as long as you didn't book through a travel agent. If you booked through a TA, you can reshop the cruise, but your travel agent would have to go in to cancel the initial reservation, and the cabin would not be available until that is done.

Awesome tip! thanks. I'm going on third Disney cruise in Dec, and still learning new things!

I'm waiting for summer 2018. Are Spring rates typically the same or cheaper than summer? We were spoiled traveling in the off-season but we have a high school kid now. I priced out Spring Break and it was shocking for a 4 night!

Summer pricing is high too. Here is the opening day thread for summer 2017 so you can compare to spring break. I feel your pain. I've had luck in the past with Thanksgiving week, but now that week seems to be high as well.

Wow, great reference. Our last cruise was 2014 and it costs $3k for the 5 of us. That's less than half the summer rates for the same cruise.
We love the Disney boat but I could stay for a week at an all in-clusive with airfare for the same price. Tough to justify.

Yeah - we're kinda at that point as well. My youngest will be in college pretty soon, and we'll be able to cruise during times which aren't high cost/high season. There are some ways to save - like booking via Costco (big cash card rebate) + purchasing Disney gift cards at a discount and loading to a Disney Vacation Account (helps but takes work). Keep an eye out for discounted rates. Sometimes you can find a decent price in early summer (early June) before many school systems release kids for the summer. Even the discounted rates seem high to me though . . . its all relative I guess. Good luck!

Any West Coast sailings next fall? I live in California and Disney Cruises are expensive enough without adding airfare on top of it.

Chances are pretty good there will be some before and after Alaska season from San Diego. Be sure to book opening day though as the prices rise quickly for those.

Waiting for October 2018!! It will be our first ever cruise. I'm hearing many different things for release dates for that time - anywhere from March - July. Why is it so broad?

Because no one knows. And October is sort of the shoulder between the summer and late fall release dates - they could put the whole month with one or the other or they could split the month.

I'm curious to see what next year's WBTA itinerary is, but they probably won't post that until our paid in full date passes for this year's!

We were so proud when we sailed on the Fantasy and completed all four ships......and then they announced two more :crazy2: :rotfl: I hope we can afford to sail on at least one of them as I'd like to see what they have and compare.
