Lots of hotels block availability to try to increase length of stay around holidays and busy times. Less room turnover equals less than work for them.

Do you think they will let me modify the reservation over the phone without loosing FD?

Has anyone else been told you can only have free dining for the days it is available? She is saying I cannot have it my full length of stay even when my arrival is during free dining.

There's no Visa promo on the website where our promos are always listed and I didn't get an email either. Not sure what Visa promo people are talking about.

Since Stitch ate the page, and I'm currently on hold, what exactly was/is the Disney Visa offer. (I know what Disney Visa is, I just would like to know the specifics of the offer)

NO, it is NOT the Enchanted Escape...that's a regular Disney offer.

I tried to catch all of you. The only difference in the Visa offer is the starting date which is AUG 2. No new Nov dates, sorry.

Congrats to all who got what they wanted!! I am an AP this year so didn't qualify just followed along for fun. Will say based on hotels excluded and now a 5 night stay seems FD may finally be on it's way out - but enjoy it while you can!

Before today, my family had a bounce back offer booked at Wilderness Lodge for 5 nights in December (Standard Room). I was able to get free dining this morning in a Standard Room at Coronado Springs but with an added night, so a total of 6 nights. My new reservation was $110 cheaper than my Wilderness Lodge bounce back. While I hate not staying at WL, I still believe we got a good deal out of it. An extra night plus free meals, all for $110 cheaper than I was paying.

I still have to cancel my WL reservation though, but I'm not calling today. How long will Disney allow you to have 2 reservations for the same time period? If I call in a few days to cancel the old res, will that be okay? Any thoughts are appreciated.

You can hold multiple reservations until about a week prior to your stay. At that time, they scan and remove found duplicates.

Yes! Dates start 8/2 I believe for the Disney Visa offer. I would keep trying the link periodically or call and ask for the Disney Visa offer. I was able to use the link right before everything seems to have crashed to book two rooms starting 8/11! Worth the hassle of keeping at it! (and for those asking, I was never emailed anything either – just found the link someone had graciously posted earlier.)

So? How’d we do?

Was up at 3, 4:30 and 5:15. Found it live at 5:15 and got exactly what I wanted. Standard room at CSR with FD and was even able to upgrade to DDP right then, all in same transaction. Was done in less than 10 minutes. With all the chaos I see now, I'm glad I got up early!! Well worth it to save nearly $1100!

Thanks to all of you who kept us updated the past few weeks with FD rumors! It paid off!!!

I have a "SPECIAL" dilemma because I didn't think things out this year! We had to change to earlier in August because of DS and DD school commitments. ARGH!!! I forgot to apply for the Disney Visa, so I could get earlier dates in August, until YESTERDAY! Now I can't do anything until the stupid card comes, I assume. At this point, I can't even access the website to maybe apply the RO discount in the event there is no availability for free dining left by next week! Our travel dates are 8/5-8/13. Any words of advice from the experts out there? Thanks!

I just refreshed on the Visa Cardmembers link and it came up.
Card exclusive dates are Aug 2 - Aug 19. All the other dates are the same as General Public.

Sounds like phone CMs are sticking to what they were told, but the website is allowing what has always been allowed. Interesting.

I checked for the offer a few times during the night. When I woke up at 5:10 CST, I had no issues with the site and was able to book 8/20-8/26 POP preferred and then also booked POP preferred RO for 8/18-8/20. I hope I've understood everyone correctly in that I can activate my package tickets on 8/18 with the only downside being that i can't book FP for 8/18 or 8/19 until the tickets are activated. This shouldn't be an issue because there are only two of us on this trip with no must-do FP on either of these days. Now when I try to search for offers on the site, all I get are Stitch eating the page.

My situation almost exactly. Alarm went off at 5:10 (first alarm was at 4, nothing new, back to sleep). Was able to reserve 2 standard rooms at Pop for 8/20-8/25, only snag was that I kept getting Woody's wait page so I ended up booking them on my phone, got confirmation emails right away. Went back to try for ROs for 8/18-8/19 and nothing available at Pop. I'm not worried about that, figure we can try later, do a different resort, stay off-site, whatever. I got the 8 day tickets so I'm with you in hoping that we'll be able to activate them early. Only other issue I had was that dummy me in my early morning stupor put me as a guest in both rooms and didn't put poor dh as a guest in either. Hopefully I'll be able to modify that if Stitch ever stops eating everything.

Click on "change reservation" (on the My Reservations page).

Then you get to reservation details page. click on "change" where it says "vacation offer". You should be able to pick free dining (or whatever specifically they call it, delicious offer, etc) and it should update to that. You'll have to checkout again.

So I did this and I got this message:

No Available Offers
There are no other available offers at your hotel within your current date range. Try changing your hotel, travel dates or party size to search for other available offers.

I booked for Pop from 12/8 to 12/15, what do they mean no offers!?

My SIL was able to change her booking online to free dining around 5:45am this morning. She was able to keep the same preferred room at CSR and upgrade to the regular plan. No issues for her. Good luck to all!

Don't know how old your kids are, but the kids eat free discount is out there for your dates along with several others. Keep trying the website and book something with a discount.

It means there are no more rooms at any discount for the dates you are booked. It could change at any time, so keep trying.

OR go through the special offers page with only the dates and party (no preferred hotels) and see what's out there.
