2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

We are heading down on the 8th of November and returning on the 14th with our 16 y/o DS and our 19 y/o DS is going to fly down from college for for a part.
It will be a nice break between soccer and basketball seasons and to celebrate Veterans Day and also the Marine Corps Birthday on the 10th!

Happy birthday Marine! We inadvertently ended up at Disney for my husband's last Marine Corps ball in 2015. (We registered for W&D before he decided to retire.) We ate dinner at CA Grill on the Marine Corps birthday to celebrate. At least the food was better than any ball I've been to in his 20 years! LOL!

Is there usually a soft opening for Food & Wine? We leave 8/31 so we just miss the actual festival.

Yes, usually the day before the official opening, some of the marketplace kiosks will be open.

We just added a Labor Day trip to the mix, so it looks like we won't miss the festival this year after all! Aug. 31-Sept. 4...can't wait!

Did anyone do the Victoria & Albert F&W meal last year? Know of any reviews or articles? It looks like this will be occurring on the day that I wanted to do V&A. I might splurge since this is a birthday trip.

I know this year's festival starts earlier than usual, so I was wondering if anyone could offer some input...do you think crowds will be better opening day (Thursday/Friday), or would (Sunday/Monday) Labor Day be best? I know that weekends are obviously crazy, and then adding Labor Day into that it may be busy. I've never been for opening day, so I have no idea what crowds would look like.

So frustrated -

Not knowing the dates/times for special events and I have to book our restuarant reservations! I know... #firstworldproblems but with Disney pre-planning mania and reservations filling up fast I am frustrated. I'm making dining reservations I KNOW I will cancel. Ugh. Sorry just have to vent!

The 2017 date is Nov 3rd...$650 pp...reservation window opens in August...must book through F&W portal.

If the TIW dinner isn't until July - don't expect to know many event information until that dinner. No point in getting frustrated at it!

Getting excited for my September Trip. I have read that Food and Wine should be avoided on the weekends. We arrive on Sat, 9th and that afternoon plan to go to DHS. However Sunday am considering going to EPCOT at RD for Future World, heading into Food and Wine booths right when they open at 11AM and eating and drinking until we tire or crowds get really bad. How bad is bad for Sunday Food and Wine crowd?

In my experience, Sunday isn't bad. When people advise avoiding weekends, they are referring to Friday afternoon/evening and all day Saturday.

FYI, we arrive on Saturday, September 23rd, and plan to visit Epcot on Sunday.

Feeling the same. I made a bunch of dining reservations awhile ago, and I may cancel some based on the release of food and wine events and park evening entertainment that has not been released.
