2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

I distinctly remember prior to Cars Land opening reading they had Halloween and Christmas decorations ready for the land. The Christmas part was true and I've never understood why Halloween never came to pass. Maybe they've had decorations as great as the Christmas ones sitting in a warehouse waiting for... something. Or maybe they'll stick a witch hat on a cozy cone and call it day. Hopefully it's the former.

A cozy cone turning into a witch hat would be something I would expect to see! Maybe not all of the cones, but at least one of them could be witched up a bit. I would also expect to see Mater and the other Cars wearing masks.

I never read anything about Cars Land Halloween decorations. A Toy Story Halloween overlay and a potential World of Color Halloween overlay I did read about, and years have passed with no Halloween for them at all!:rotfl: But I always had ideas about what they could do with Halloween decor in Cars Land. I have no idea what they will do -- but they have to have something in Cars Land, decoration-wise, if they plan to do an overlay on RSR, even just around that immediate area.

It's all just guessing and speculating at this point, but I think that Halloween Time would not be the actual focus of any segment, but they would work the Guardians RSR overlay news into some other DCA-related announcement, like about Marvel Land. Maybe when mentioning Paint the Night going to DCA, they could toss in something about an RSR overlay this year too. They could just add on the info in a segment about something else.

I don't know how each bit of info will be packaged up and presented. The Parks Blog could just be tied up with all of the other info coming out of the Expo -- and a full-fledged Marvel Land will be big news for them to cover -- leaving Halloween Time to be announced on Monday. Or, maybe the Parks Blog is staying silent because they don't know if anything will be mentioned about the overlays at the Expo, and they don't want to say anything too soon.

Either way, if no Halloween-related info comes out today and if the tickets are on sale on Monday, there would have to be a Parks Blog on Monday.

Just something to think about when deciding when to order your tickets. Last year I ordered mine early before the public and they only had the option to purchase hard tickets with a 5.00 shipping fee. Once it was open to everyone there was an email option with no fees. I am a bit of a worry wart and it stressed me out a little to make sure I didn't loose the tickets. (I did take a picture of the front and back) While I am sure Disney would have been able to fix it had I actually lost it I didn't want to chance it. There has never been a time (as far as I know) that a day has sold out the same day it was released. So if you would prefer a digital copy you might want to wait a week and purchase with the public. Just a thought:)

I have been watching the presentation -- tons of exciting news for WDW, but the only DLR news so far has been that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will open at DLR before it opens at WDW. Unfortunately, someone keeps talking and blocking out bits of audio.

No other DLR news yet.

Not much in the way of DLR news at this Expo, relative to the WDW news....

Pixar Play Parade is moving to DL, and Paint the Night is moving to DCA.

Pixar Fest is coming next year.

Pixar Pier is taking over Paradise Pier (the land in DCA, not the hotel!)??

Cars Land is getting Halloween decorations!!!!!!!!!! (It's a complete overlay of the land, probably like the holiday season decorations.)

Please tell me they aren't closing multiple rides in the area for that. :( We will be there for the first time Sept. 7-13.

I didn't hear John Lasseter actually mention any ride overlays in Cars Land, though I could have missed it because this guy was yapping and blocking out the audio. To me, it just sounded like JL was saying that the land would be fully decorated, and the citizens of Cars Land will be in costume.

Now, again, unless I missed something, I didn't hear anything about a Guardians ride overlay for Halloween either. So this Expo did not make it clear to me that RSR or Guardians would have Halloween overlays. The only Halloween-specific thing I heard was that Cars Land would get a Halloween makeover. (If RSR is getting an overlay, maybe it will be mentioned in the Parks Blog on Monday?)

In fact, they only hinted at a Marvel Land by saying something about "....a completely immersive Super Hero universe at Disney California Adventure park," and then leaving it at that.

I have been following the live tweets and didn't see anything about Halloween at all. Fingers crossed from a Parks blog sometime soon.

Just saw someone on Instagram post that there will be a Halloween overlay in Carsland. I'm sure the blog will post soon!!!

I watched the presentation. I couldn't rely on the tweets. Cars Land is definitely getting a Halloween makeover. That is definite.

Now I wonder if Pixar Fest next year will segue into Toy Story Midway Mania finally getting the long overdue Halloween overlay that was mentioned 9 years ago.
