2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

This has been a rough year for us. I'm going through a divorce, among other things. I haven't been able to get excited for this trip. I haven't even started my daughter's autograph book... we arrive October 3rd.

I did find two cute Halloween Disney shirts for her a Target. Yup. That's as far as I have gotten.

I feel so lost! Is there a Halloween dinner at Blue Bayou this year?

Sending all the pixie dust your way! That's the beauty of Disneyland, you can leave the outside world behind and be totally immersed in the magic - if only for just a little while.

Are there any Halloween benefits at all for DVC members?

Not that I know of, besides the ability to purchase tickets in advance of the general public. There's a special treat trail for Annual Passholders, but that's the extent of the exclusive offerings during the party.

On a completely unrelated note, can anyone explain how the WOC Dessert party would work on a Halloween Party night? I was surprised they offer this package on a party night.
Just as a follow-up, while DL closes to non-MHP guests at the start of the party, DCA will remain open until it's posted closing time. They offer the WoC Dessert Party because there are plenty of day guests that have either spent the day in DCA or hopped over DCA once DL closed. While you can use your MHP to hop over to DCA and attend the WoC Dessert Party, my guess is that not many people will do that because it's going to eat into a lot the prime party time.

This is probably a dumb question, but do you bring your own treat bag or do they give you one?
As others have said, they do provide you with a small bag when you get your wristband. The bag is about 9” tall, by 7” wide, by 3” deep. I usually see a lot of guests bringing their own (larger) bags.

Sending good thoughts your way...:goodvibes

Hey there... Ill be on the parks From Oct 20 - 29 ... We will be arriving in the afternoon on the 20th... And since Disneyland will have a the Halloween PArty I'm looking into options to try to secure a spot for WOC on that friday 20th.

We probably wont be able to enter the parks until 4pm at the earliest... so , what options do I have to get a FP for WOC, should I do a dining reservation? Please give me your suggestions.

On the happy note: we will be attending halloween parties of the 24th and 27th!

On the sad note: I'm really sad about this year non halloween parade schedule... It is an absolute disaster.. no Pixar Parade and no night parade at Disney!

I am sure this has been asked before but I am too exhausted to search. I will be going to Disneyland next week...yippppee .. but I am not going to a Halloween party. Is it better to go to DL until they kick you out then go to DCA? Or should I just plan on DCA the whole day?

This question has many subjective answers to it. I can only go with my most recent experience. Last year the first week of October when I went to DL I rope dropped a few day days, a party day and a non party day. The party day had much smaller crowds at RD and very light crowds through the morning. the crowds did pick up in the afternoon but it stayed pretty pleasant until the time when party guests arrived and then the crowds were too heavy for me. I made the hop over to DCA and the crowds steadily increased over there to a point of being very crowded. Hopping was a little irritating because it was crowded. It might have been better to just have an early night.

DCA on a non-party day was a fabulous rope drop with very light crowds until the late afternoon and even the evening wasn't very crowded. On a party day is was much more crowded and FP's were going very quickly. I much preferred it on a non-party day.

If it was me I would do that again-rope drop DL on a party day and then call it a day around 4-5. Then I would do rope drop DCA on a non party day.

I agree with Kindermouse that it's going to depend a lot on each person and their tolerance for crowds, their level of expectations, etc. Personally, I've found that DL and DCA are both pretty good in the morning (e.g., rope drop and then for the first few hours) and then the crowds will start to build. There has, in the past, been a noticeable uptick in the crowds in DL when the party goers are allowed in (three hours before the start of the party, the "overlap period"). This year, the uptick might also start in DCA about then because this year's MHP tickets are park hoppers. Once the party starts in DL, there is sizeable uptick in crowds in DCA. Regardless of what you do, DCA will be crowded once the party starts in DL. Ultimately, I would do whatever works best for you schedule (either start in DL or DCA) and just try to make sure you're there at rope drop.

Looking through the disneyland website seems yhey added some treats we can expect
Eerie Edibles
Look out… a host of savory and sweet treats will rise from the grave within our candy kitchen. Creepy culinary creations found throughout both parks during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort include:

  • Minnie Witch, Poison Skull and Jack Skellington Candy Apples
  • Bat Cookies
  • Monstermallow Donuts
  • Pumpkin Fudge
  • “Ghost”-ly Pepper Nachos
  • Mummy Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches
  • Bat Wing Raspberry Sundaes
  • Mickey and Minnie Day of the Dead Crispy Treats
  • Green Apple Spell Lemonade
  • Sea Witch-Themed Cocktails (for Guests 21 years and older)
You may also find yourself scooping up bags of candy corn—gummy and classic—as well as cotton candy tubs and bundle lollipops, all presented in the most fiendishly fun packaging

It's ok for children to wear costumes even on non-party days, correct? My DS5 wants to wear his GoG Star-Lord costume around the parks.
