2017 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

I got DME tags today and I'm not even flying! I'm taking Amtrak (with a sleeping compartment). I still can't figure out how I got them since I was never going to fly. :confused3
Got my tags the same day I entered my flight info on my reservation. I am flying, but I'm not sure how they knew or if they're just sending them regardless. I guess it's possible I could have mentioned to the DVC person when I booked that I'd be flying...who knows.

thank you! its been a roller coaster of a year let me tell you!!! I really hope it helps. and I know the surgery that I got moved will help too. I just know that I need to burn some pavement on this and tinkerbell.... also do you think if I call Disney they'd like me use this race as PoT because I was going to use the cancelled Half to update for tinkerbell...but uh.... yeah..
I'm going to *guess* no, but it wouldn't hurt to try!

Can you get out of your office a few times a day to get out and get some fresh air for a bit? :)
I am really hoping they come soon...not that it changes anything, I would just like to know! I googled and it looked like they came out the beginning of February last year, but I've been hoping we see them a bit earlier. :flower1:
I feel like runDisney is doing stuff later and later lately...for example: certified course maps for the January races weren't posted until AFTER the race weekend. :rolleyes2 When it comes to releasing this info I am not counting on them to stick to a schedule! :rotfl2:

Any idea if they are splitting people in the over 2:45 group? My girls and I are expecting a finish between 2:50-3 and that's what we put in registration, but we don't have PoT. We didn't run a race for proof because we knew it would be slower than 2:45. My last 2 races, we were automatically in the last because of no PoT, but I didn't know if they were doing things differently.

Likely yes. For the WDW half in January (using as an example since it's the most recent and is similar size to Princess), here were the last few corrals:
J: 2:39-2:45
K: 2:45
L: 2:45
M: 2:45-3:00
N: 3:00-3:05
O: 3:05-3:30
P: 3:05-3:30

If you guys are assigned to different corrals, you can drop back to whoever is in the last corral and all run together, but you can't move up corrals. :)

Does anyone know when Raw Threads will start Expo pick-up? I may like to order something to pick up then but wondering when it would start.

Warning: pity post ahead! I've been lacking all motivation and haven't been training well. It also hasn't helped that I've been swamped at worked (last week I had a day where I worked 9am to 4:30am, then had to be back in the office at 7:30am for a 9:00am hearing :scared:). I'm supposed to go on vacation in 2 weeks to Cuba, :cool2: but the friend I was going with just bailed and everyone else is busy or doesn't want to go. And then I'm going to Vegas the beginning of March, but my friend now has to leave early so we'll have less than 48 hours. Pout. All of these are such short trips to begin with, so I was hoping to just have some easy breaks from work but I don't know if that's going to happen. >:(

I'm hoping to find some motivation soon, because otherwise Princess weekend is going to be tough.

I try! It's just hard because I have to watch a phone. Hopefully the person I'm covering comes back. My new job that was going to take me away from this got caught up in the federal hiring freeze.

Expo pick up is going on now. Put the code for pick up in the notes section since you can only use one code at a time.

They need to pay me for the this LOL.

I've seen notices on their FB page this whole week about it.

Also, remember sparkleathletic does expo pickup as well. :)

Well...those sound like AMAZING opportunities to spend time with yourself. Don't go home early from Vegas just b/c your friend does. (though be safe if you stay) And I'm sure you'll be with travel partners in Cuba, yes? So you won't be alone for that.

Solo trips can be fabulous. (I drove across the country from VA to WA in late December...went down the east coast, turned at Florida, spent a few days alone in New Orleans, visited my bro in Texas, got to CA, turned right, kept on driving...It was ah.maze.ing.)

so slightly personal post, but first a tiny TMI back story before you know why I quoted you (sorry!). I got moved into a new office to cover someone on medical leave. Right around then my normally manageable anxiety became severe (tl:dr I basically sit alone in a windowless office for 9 hours a day). so my anxiety (and other health issues) has stopped me from running, as most of the panic attacks I've gotten recently come right when I'm getting ready for long runs. finally got put on medication and I'm hoping for the full effect to kick in before the race.

anywho.....but to get to why I quoted you, I know I'm going to be in a terrible corral, but knowing how much time I have sooner will seriously help, and give me piece of mind as well. plus I hope to find some Galloway pacers to run with now that I know they exist, in my really far back corral, so I can keep motivated and hopefully finish the glass slipper challenge without a panic attack.

I hope this medication helps you, and I hope you are able to get yourself out the door. I find that's the hardest part. Once I get myself out there, I'm never sorry I did.

First off, I love traveling alone. Love. It. It is very relaxing! I never let people (or lack thereof) keep me from doing things I want to do.

As for the motivation? Princess weekend is coming, whether you feel like training or not. That's got to be motivation if nothing else is. Trust me, you'll regret it if you're not trained.

I have anxiety and panic attacks too. Working out helps me so much with dealing with it. However, it can be a vicious cycle. You know exercise will help, but your anxiety gets in the way of working out! I hope you feel better soon!

That is no joke! It is so frustrating.

I think its starting to kick in. I'm excited for my trial run next weekend...not dreading it at all. So hopefully this is a good sign!!

Costume Question for you all. should I run as mermaid ariel for the 10k and kiss the girl ariel for the half? or other way around....

If one costume is more comfy than the other, I'd choose it for the longer run. Otherwise, pick the one you like best for your longer run.

they're almost exactly the same....I bought the same kind of shirt in two different colors and just a sparkle skirt to wear over my capris I wear while training. i'll prob go with my original plan because the skirt for mermaid ariel bugs me more than the sparkle skirt
