We had a 2BR right behind the slide at the pool on our trip and loved it. Didn't find it noisey at all - we were worried it might be! It was so nice to be able to sit on our porch and watch the kids in the pool or if we were at the pool and one of them had to use the restroom it was a quick run back in. And it was a fairly easy shot over to grab refills or breakfast in the morning. Would totally do it again.

That's where we were too, behind the slide, and it was VERY noisy. We were top floor (building 25). It was early Aug and very busy there that week. DH was trying to do conference calls and the folks in the call were like 'what's that noise'. He was very frustrated. But it was a good location for going to the pool or snack/food counter or filling up mugs. That's why I requested it. Next time I'll request marsh view but I have heard those are tough to get since a lot of folks request there.

Anyone know where the GVs are located?

I seem to remember there being 12 GVs, maybe 16. Don't quote me on that. I believe there is one in each of the buildings on the right and left of the Pool.

I've only been in the GV there to view, not stay.


We'll be in a studio April 10th through the 14th this year, but, we live only 45 minutes from the resort, so, we recently dropped in for a visit. They have Mickey Premium Ice Cream in the store. Yummy!

This fall, we're trying to get two weeks at the Poly. Wish us luck! (We already have one week, working on the other)

I have a BWV studio for the fall and the 7 month window is about to open (in 10 days) and Poly is still available for my dates. I was looking at my options but think I'm sticking with BWV for ease of getting to Epcot for F&W. SIL is booked at SSR for same time and is looking to switch over to BCV or BWV as well but she has a studio and only 1BRs are available. At any rate, good luck with Poly...it's looking positive for you getting it.

Oh, and I just researched and there are only 5 GVs at HHI. EEKKKK, lucky I got one.

Rooms were renovated. They are lovely! congrats on the WL coming through. I was there last Easter and it was a touch chilly. We bundled up and sat on beach a little. No pool time though...but others were.

We will be going June 12-18 for our first trip ever so we're not sure what to expect. One thing is for sure, this will be much different than vacationing in the parks.

Hi. I am trying to work on putting together a stay for July. I started looking late, so missed out on the 7 month window. Right now I have July 12, 15 and 16. I have the 13th and 14th waitlisted, individually. I am hoping to get at least three nights in a row, but would love it if both my waitlists come through. It sounds like such a relaxing time waiting to happen.

We'll be there the 10th through the 15th ourselves.

We were there in January for a visit. Looks like they have re-arranged the pool area a little (Moved the gate to get in from the Northeast side and the like), but, nothing major. Pool guy Mike is still there.

OH and Bambi no longer greets you at Live Oak Lodge. He has been relegated to the the Pool area. You have a new greeter!

We are heading there July 30 - August 6. 2bdrm villa. Very excited to be going in summer. We went in 2014 in March and had a blast but it was pretty cold. We knew the temps would be cool but it was especially cold most of the week. But we really enjoyed the activities and exploring the island during the quieter season.

Will have kids DD 14,DS 14, DD 8, DS, 8, DD 2

It will not be cool in July-August on HHI. It may be cooler than inland, but, it will still be hot, and muggy. In the evenings, you may run into sand gnats.

Stay in the pool or the ocean, keep Deep Woods Off (orange sent), or, Skin So Soft handy. Apply liberally.

Morning and evenings won't be too bad actually as long as the wind is blowing.

All that being said, no matter what, you'll have a blast. It's a great place

Yes. We were there last march and they were open. Maybe not long hours, I don't remember exactly but we did eat at the beach house place and get drinks at the pool place.

We're going to be there 5/15 - 5/20 in a Grand Villa with two other couples. Can't wait....have started the countdown! Can anyone tell me if the kitchens at HH are stocked well? We've found some of the resorts at WDW missing a lot of items that should be in the kitchen and hoping that is not the case at HH, since we plan to cook at least breakfast and some lunches.

For those that have been in August, just how hot is it?

Hot! Very hot....like you walk outside and sweat immediately hot! But...then you go to the pool or the beach and all is well! It cools a bit in the evenings to bearable---so you can enjoy dinner outings, outside concerts, movies, mini-golf, etc---just fine!
