I feel the anxiety level building. Lots of posts over the last few days.

If I could, let me give you a little advice as we get closer to a possible promotion announcement. BREATHE

Some of us have been through this many times. Lots of us look forward to this time every year with excitement, knowing our trip planning officially starts when our reservation is secured.

Rest assured, rumors will start. Things will be posted in this thread over the next few weeks that will make you doubt that a promotion will actually drop or that the reservation you want will not be available because of something someone says. PANIC will start to set in and that doesn't help anyone.

So, RELAX. There are no credible rumors out there. Some of us are here to help and will be glad to answer questions as you have them.

Likelyhood of a promo drop tomorrow.....very close to 0%!
LoL I like you! I must say my panic button was pushed earlier but just reading your post helps me breathe a little easier. Thank you!

Happens every year. The other thing is some of the arguing and bickering gets out of hand. Just finding some bit of info can send things into a tail spin.

For those who booked early in the morning, did you just check and it was there?
Yes, I was following the rumors and woke up At about 5:45am (eastern) and was so excited to see it there! The year before though (2014) I had heard the rumors but when I logged on at 7am it wasn't there so I called and asked and was able to get booked right away.....that year I don't think it was on the website until about 8am.

Thank you! Does anyone know the resorts and room requirements that were attached to last years free dining promotion?

These are the excluded resorts from last year quoted from a website I get a lot of my info from:
"Here's the list from last year - The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – The Little Mermaid Standard View Rooms, campsites and 3-bedroom villas, Port Orleans French Quarter, All Star Movies."

I am pretty that Port Orleans Riverside was not part of the deal after September.

If I need to make a reservation with two rooms, I will have to call instead of booking online, right?

Does the reservation line still open at 8 am eastern time? Thank you The Dirty Steve for talking me down! This is stressful, but exciting too!!!

yes. other option is to make 2 separate reservations and call later to link them. I need to book 2 rooms at POP and if there is no DVisa advance booking window I plan to just make 2 on line and call when the chaos dies down to link them.

Same here - I have to book 3 rooms at POP. I don't want to wait until phone lines open, then sit forever to get through.

I wish POFQ would be included. It seems people have mixed feelings on whether or not to book in advance. With limited availability, what is the negatives around booking a room in advance in one of the likely participating resorts and then adding the discount on?

The greatest negative is if everyone does that, then this greatly increases the chances of that resort being considered by Disney as not needing to have the FD offered to fill that resort. So that resort would be excluded. If everyone did this at multiple resorts...maybe Disney thinks they don't need to offer the discount at all. High occupancy means they do not need to offer a discount to fill rooms. Booking a room is no guarantee of being able to add the FD to your reservation. In the long run, it actually hurts everyone's chances of getting it.

There are other possible issues that can crop up with applying the discount to an already booked trip, but I have always waited to book so another could probably answer that better. I would only book now if you are going to go anyways with or without the FD discount, and your dates are not flexible for when you are going to be traveling. Basically, if you are going these certain dates no matter what.
