I need the release date to be closer to the end of the month. You know how I posted we weren't going until 2017? Well last night turned into tripalooza when dh found out FD was during F&W again. Now he's all "oh maybe we can do a shorter stay and go this year"! Add in my oldest going to UCA for HS Nationals next year, our big trip in June, and then the F&W 2017 trip he wanted...omg I don't even know how I will pay for all those! LOL

If we go this year our list is:
1) POR or POFQ (whichever is included)
2) CSR
3) POP

Deluxe is most definitely out which is what we stayed last year. We would be happy with any of the 3 listed except having to pay the difference between QS and DDP.

The year I booked POFQ with a PIN I had already booke FD at CBR on release day. I called a couple weeks later on someone else's advice and asked if by chance I had a PIN code tied to my address and I did. I kept the same dates and package- just switched to POFQ.

yes, many DISers have posted about getting PINS after they booked. we were booked at POFQ in 2013 when my sister got the PIN.

Awesome! I love POR and was bummed when I saw it wasn't available for FD last year while trying to plan this year. We went in 2013 and I don't remember there being any resorts excluded. I booked at the end of May with no problems. :/

Is there a reason you are not considering CBR? It is spacious but very nice.

PIN Codes are sent out with no rhyme or reason. You can get them any time, and any way. I've received them in my email before, and DH has received multiple ones through snail mail. He gets them a few times a year. Which is ironic, because I'm the one who does all the planning and am always the lead guest on the reservation.

Most of October was blacked out last year, except for 10/1-10/2 and 10/25-10/31. I was actually surprised the week of Halloween was not blacked out last year - we were there then and it was a pretty busy time, with MNSSHP and Food & Wine. If they blacked out all of October this year, it wouldn't be at all surprising to me.

It just occurred to me, doesn't Food & Wine end around November 15? Could that be the reason for that wonky FD date in November?

I got them for years (no trips planned), then April 2013 I book a trip for my family and my sisters; she knows nothing about Disney vacation planning, I do it all. I read here that people are getting PINs so I call to see if I have one (no), ask them to check sis name and address and she had the FD PIN! she did have a Disneystore.com account. that same summer her DH got them several times in the snail mail and all we can figure for him is that he does have an ESPN account.
I have not gotten a PIN since February 2013 but my sister gets them all the time.

I would suspect the combination of the end of Food & Wine, after Jersey Week and after Veteran's Day have to do with the 11/15 date. The week before Thanksgiving is usually a slower time before it ramps up for the holiday.
