I want to cry about POR. We are going the 3rd week of December. And number 2 on my list was POFQ so that's out too.

My other 2 are CBR and CSR. We are a family of 5, but 2 year old will either sleep with us or a pack n play.

So if you had the choice between the 2, which would you choose?
CBR is really great. We went as a family of 5 when our youngest was 2 and it was wonderful. The pirate splash pool will be great for your 2-year-old!

More Can-Con ;-)
Free dining has been offered to Canadians a week or two earlier during the past two years compared to the American offer. I would really love to get it before Aug. 23rd.

There's two different ideas we're talking about:
1) What dates can you check in and receive FD, which is what you mean when you say Canadians get offered a week earlier, and
2) When can you BOOK these FD specials, which is what I was talking about. :-)
I believe that Canadians will be able to book FD the same time Americans can. It is an interesting question to see if there are some differences in the dates offered for check in.

Does anyone know if Air Canada opens up booking for free dining the same time as Disney does? For example, last year it opened at 4:30am online for Disney so would I have been able to go on Air Canada and book it at 4:30am too or would I have to wait until 7am or something? I'd love to book on Air Canada instead and save myself the conversion fee on my credit card.

Ooh, does Air Canada have Disney vacation specials? Say more. :-) That would be great if they had access to FD booking for exactly the reason you stated.

Am I wrong in thinking that this will be live at 7 am ish Monday morning like dining does? I would take either the dining or a RO offer I think so its not pertinent I call right away but would like to have the option so if it's available midnight Id like to see what the differences are.

Two years ago when we went we had one sit down and one quick service. With that we felt like we missed a lot by running to fast pass and reservations. This year we are only doing the quick service and eating when we feel like it. Enjoy ourselves more! So we will stay at a value. We only use it to sleep and swim anyways. We were never in our room.
We have found the same thing..love the sit downs, but enjoy not having to be somewhere and knowing it will take time. With you on the room....we go there to sleep only.

You wouldn't wait? Not sure what you mean . . .

I mean, for whatever reason, if the button is missing or MDE is acting glitchy and you can't modify, I wouldn't want to chance losing my room by waiting for the phone lines to open to modify. Again, that's just me.

Yes. I also believe it will be offered to us at the same time. I guess I just can't stop thinking about/hoping for an earlier check in.

So... Here's my for instance. I booked with a TA at POR. I need a 5 person room so I didn't want those to get booked before we got one.
However bc I'm booked with a TA she has to add FD. Should I wake up at 4am to try to book a new reservation? What happens go my ADRs if I do that? If I end up canceling the reservation my ADRs are under do I lose them? I have a lot of hard to get ADRs.
I'm willing to go through the hassle if it means FD but I just don't know...

I'm guessing you will have a better chance at getting CSR since all the families of five (with older kids) will be trying for CBR

Your ADRs won't be effected at all. You can book a new reservation and transfer it over to your TA later in the day.

Yes they do offer free dining packages when Disney offers them. Somebody made a post about it a few pages back. I'm worried they won't open it the same time though and everything will already be gone by the time they do open it up.

After the talk of less-enthusiastic spouses a few days ago, I thought you guys would enjoy this.

I was just talking to my fiance about the possible release in the wee hours of the morning Monday and commented that I'm going to set an alarm for every two hours. His response was,
"How about we do it in shifts?"

My face was like,, because even though he very much appreciates my Disney obsession, he is not in any way at the level of getting up in the middle of the night to check for FD. With a perfectly straight face he says, "You take the night shift and book free dining, and I'll take the sleeping shift and sleep for 8 hours." That sounds more like it. :rotfl2:

Bring on the sleep anxiety! :surfweb:

Oh wow . . . my brain must really be fried this Friday afternoon because I'm still not following. :crazy2: If FD drops early Monday morning and I can't modify online because the button is not there, what other choice do I have but to wait for the phone lines to open?

We were going to just do a room only on the date, but now it appears that FD will begin 3 days earlier than the bb offer, so now we will cancel our bb and get FD with the new dates if possible.
You may want to crunch the numbers first before you cancel the BB reservation you made last year. You will be charged the new ticket prices. We have 5 day ph from the FD BB we booked last year and the price increase is $32 per person, approximately.

Does that mean if I check in on 11/5 I could get the discount for my nine day stay?
Room discounts only apply for the dates of the discount.

Also potentially to be released Monday? Have they ever been released at the same time before? I was just saying this would be a good idea.
Yes, they are often released at the same time but they don't generate as much excitement as free dining does. ;)

What happens go my ADRs if I do that? If I end up canceling the reservation my ADRs are under do I lose them? I have a lot of hard to get ADRs.
ADR's will not be affected. They are tied to your MDE account and not to your room reservation. :)

There isn't another option for modifying.

The only other thing you could do is book an entirely new reservation under the FD promo with a new deposit, wait for the phone lines to cool off, and then call to cancel your previous package.
