Well if I have to talk to a CM anyway, I'll just wait. I had noticed under "Change Reservation" that you could change your "Vacation Offer" and it would give you the available options, including special offers (which I'm assuming would include free dining). Guess that would be too easy, huh? ;)
If your dates are include you might be able to. I did it that way last year she my dates and resort and room category were all included in the free dining. I clicked on it and the free dining promotion showed and I clicked to apply it. That simple - of course it's not always that simple...

It should all be the same, in my experience. The only difference I have seen is when they had Canadian-only Cruise specials, and that just came with a warning that someone over age 18 in the party had to produce a Canadian passport. The only difference I've experienced is, as a dual citizen, calling the 407 # in the US I *think* I got a choice between English or Spanish, where this week when I called the same # from Canada, I was given a choice of English or French. ;-)

Meanwhile, I'll spend the weekend angsting over whether I want a trip with FD and a MVMCP, OR a trip with both a MNSSHP and a MVMCP. I've been holding out hope for that first week of Nov to get added, but it's quietly dying.
Free dining has been offered to Canadians a week or two earlier during the past two years compared to the American offer. I would really love to get it before Aug. 23rd.

Great! If the button is there now, sure, go ahead and change it. :) The option has been there for me in the past, but the button disappeared for our upcoming trip and never came back.

Hopefully the offer will be there for you to modify in MDE should FD open early. However, if it isn't, I wouldn't wait for the phone lines to open. Just trying to help you cover your bases worst case scenario...

Thank you @black562 and everyone else on the DIS for all your information and help!!

This our first trip (and maybe only) and free dining would open up so much opportunities for us to try extras (firework cruise or MVMCP). We will be at least 10 people, maybe up to 15.

We booked 3 rooms at POR everyone would arrive on Nov.26. Some are staying until Dec. 5, Some Dec.7 and some Dec.10. I am assuming when we try to add FD we will have to switch hotels, which do you all prefer CBR or CSR? We heard that Pop Warner would be at those hotels along with the value resorts.

Our dates are 11/16-20 so they're included and I'll just be booking standard view . . . I'm kinda thinking it might be worth a try.

You wouldn't wait? Not sure what you mean . . .

We were able to change ours by just a day and we didn't lose free dining.

Nice. :) We just wanted to add on a day, but couldn't on the date we wanted. We were going to just do a room only on the date, but now it appears that FD will begin 3 days earlier than the bb offer, so now we will cancel our bb and get FD with the new dates if possible.

They don't allow you to modify the bounce back offer?

You can modify if there is availability, but you do have to call. You can not modify a bb offer online.

They do. I have changed my BB dates and resort a few times already lol. They probably just didn't have availability for what she needed to change to.

Exactly.

Two years ago when we went we had one sit down and one quick service. With that we felt like we missed a lot by running to fast pass and reservations. This year we are only doing the quick service and eating when we feel like it. Enjoy ourselves more! So we will stay at a value. We only use it to sleep and swim anyways. We were never in our room.

That's my favourite way to do FD. If only I could convince my family that we don't need TS this year.

Does anyone know if Air Canada opens up booking for free dining the same time as Disney does? For example, last year it opened at 4:30am online for Disney so would I have been able to go on Air Canada and book it at 4:30am too or would I have to wait until 7am or something? I'd love to book on Air Canada instead and save myself the conversion fee on my credit card.

Sorry if this has already been posted, I don't have time to read through but wanted to post what I found. Air Canada Vacations is showing free dining details with booking beginning April 25th. Looks like the dates and details match what the SA site has been posting.

You can find details by going to the site (http://vacations.aircanada.com/catalog/maywesuggest.do?promotion=14419&sortedBy=Name), clicking your hotel and going to the promotions tab. It looks like it only shows exclusions for resorts of the same level (ie. value exclusions when viewing the details of another value) so make sure you are looking at the correct room level.
Thank you so much for posting this!! We are planning to fly Air Canada I don't know why I didn't think of looking at the packages!:thanks::yay:

i am having to book two rooms as soon as fd goes live, from what i understand this can not be done at the same time, i have to complete one then start the other. so my question is this...what would be the best wat to do that? two computers and try to be doing them simultaniously? lol i know that sounds crazy but i dont want to get one and not the other....any other suggestions on the best way of doing this?

I want to cry about POR. We are going the 3rd week of December. And number 2 on my list was POFQ so that's out too.

My other 2 are CBR and CSR. We are a family of 5, but 2 year old will either sleep with us or a pack n play.

So if you had the choice between the 2, which would you choose?

I haven't been to CBR or CSR, but I might be choosing between them as well. I'm going to choose CSR over CBR cause I like the theme better.

CBR is def more kid friendly in my opinion.
