2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

We had to plead for a tiny refill (well, a very vocal lady at our table did our bidding). The wine rep asked for your name and phone number if you were interested in purchasing any of the wines but never followed up (I think we filled out that form three years in a row expressing interest but were never contacted). The French F&W events have been very generous, as have the Japan events.

The F&W Pairings at Tutto Italia were always awesome (plentiful food & wine!), but that first year at Tutto Gusto was not good. The food was fine, but they used a small wine vintner who didn't have enough product for the group, thus the tiny little pours. Seconds? Not a chance! :sad2:

We let Disney know when there is something exceptionally good; we also let them know what a disappointment the event that particular day was.

FWIW...The DVC Member Services rep advised that the Premium Package is forthcoming and is expected to be bookable within the next couple of weeks.

woohoo - that's a good rumor! here's hoping its true!!

putting this out there again, just to confirm, but for the dates 9/14-19, the only offerings are cheese seminar, drink seminar and a few chef things? I wanted to partake in some events, but most don't seem worth it. The cheese seminar is $89 for cheese samples and some alcohol... hardly seems worth it. Am I wrong? any other things I should consider when going?

you dont get much with the cheese seminar in terms of food

The cheese seminars we have gone to have always had huge cheese servings, fruits and nuts, and generous wine pours. Since the focus is cheese though, they don't have staff roaming around refilling wine glasses. We have gotten seconds when asked though. If anyone is around October 22, I very HIGHLY recommend David's seminary, Rogue Valley Creamery. He is awesome and the cheese and wine pairings he selects are phenomenal!

If anyone is looking, I just had to cancel a Nov 1 Hibachi Experience for three, because the CM from this morning BOOKED THE WRONG DAY! I was so mad when I checked MDE and saw that. Of course, there is nothing available for the correct day. She even had my resort reservation, which does not include Nov 1!

My CM seems to have spelled my email address with a D instead of a G.

She did, however, manage to spell my name correctly.

My email address is firstname.lastname@gmail.com.

At least it doesn't affect the reservation.

Just got off the phone and had no problem getting through. Got all my little food demos and beverage seminars booked and with my AP discount, got my Med. Lunch booked and tried to book a cheese seminar but it was already full for pre-booking. I'll call back on Thursday to try that again but if I don't get it, it's not the end of the world and will certainly save me some money. I thought about booking the mix it what ever seminar on the 9/17 but the only info. on it is the chef from Morimotos and since I'm not a huge sushi or fish fan I figured that might be dangerous for me.

Does anybody know if I will be able to pay with a Disney Gift Card on Thursday? If not, I will need to rethink our plans since I do not have an extra $120 in the "cash" fund. I threw all of our food and entertainment budget into gift cards since I was able to acquire them at about a 40% savings.

You should be able. I paid with GC for the demos and seminars.

What is this Trader Sam's that everyone keeps speaking of?
Behind the Scenes at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto - it's a new event at the new Tiki bar at the Polynesian - I do hope it it worth the price of admission - should be interesting anyway

BTW - I was told this is a signature Dining event and to dress appropriately - I have to wonder if that really fits for a Tiki bar

I hate to be the voice of doom and gloom, but personally I would not trust a DVC CM to know the details on anything Food & Wine. Totally different parts of the company.

That said I do think the Premium package will be back. Current management likes $$ :)

yeah I would have been skeptical if she said it WASN'T coming back because seriously the premium package is easy money for Disney.

On the phone at 7 AM and struck out for Italian Food & Wine Pairing. Wasn't impressed with CM & even less so with her supervisor who just placated me with bad info like -- I'll send you over to DVC now (before 9) and came back on to tell me they weren't open OR my favorite, maybe someone will cancel & you will get it...Alot of cancellations of pre paid luncheons??
On phone at 9 AM for DVC. Confirmed October 21 was not available.
Will try again on the 21st. More hours on speaker phone. Hopefully with better results!
