2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

I am very excited! I have never been at this time of year and can't wait to try everything! Is there a must try drink I should know about?
We love this one from France:
  • La Passion Martini Slush: Vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, Cranberry and Passion Fruit Juice

For DW and I:

China:
  • Kung Fu Punch with Smirnoff Vodka and Bols Triple Sec
Hawaii:
  • Mai Tai featuring Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum
Refreshment Port:
  • Pineapple Dole Whip Soft-Serve Ice Cream with Bacardi Coconut Rum

I preferred the pomegranate slush last year to this year's version. I wish this year's had a more distinct flavor. Maybe we just got a bad batch? (I sampled this at the Flower & Garden festival.)

For some reason I missed the Mai Tai last year. I'm going to have to make sure to get one because Mai Tais are one of my favorites!

I had a fabulous Kim Crawford wine in New Zealand last year too.

Don't know... I can only say that at both F&W and F&G last year we thought these were REALLY tasty... maybe it was a bad batch! :)

Yes, they're all at the Tambu lounge at the poly :rotfl:

We were not that impressed with most of the choices at F&W but we do like the beer flights. We have a tendency to try a couple of the specialty mixed cocktails and then get irritated with the quality and portion size and then shuffle off to find a full size beer from one of the permanent world showcase locations. Our favorite permanent place to grab a full size drink is the Canada beer cart.

I also like trying offbeat (for us at least!) things like pineapple wine... fun to taste something totally different. :)

I rarely drink mixed drinks at F&W, I'm all about the wine. I tried a few that I liked last year and a few that I took one sip and threw out. The only one that stands out is Dom Perignon. I'm not much of a champagne drinker and for over $30 for the small glass was not something I was thrilled about but I had never had it so thought what the heck. Hated it. Took about 3 sips and was trying to decide if I should finish it since it cost so much or just trash it and move on. I was on the phone with my honey at the time, (he doesn't do Disney) and he said trash it so I did.

Your post makes me think of the ice pops from France:
  • Frozen Daiquiri Ice Pop: Strawberry Puree with French Caribbean Rhum Clément
One piece of advice on eating the ice pops: They melt quickly in the Florida heat, but the lid can be used as a drop cup. Then drink the liquid in the lid as a shot once the ice pop is gone.

I have been to WDW many, many times and I had never had a regular Dole Whip. I tried the Dole Whip with Rum at the last Flower and Garden Festival and it it now one of my favorite things. That is the first thing I want to get when we get to the F&W Festival this year.

Where can I find information on the daily seminars? We will be there only one day on Tuesday, October 12. I would like to try do one seminar or tasting or demonstration. I know most things are on Friday and Saturday.

Where can I find the menus for each for this year?

Everything's here https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/epcot/epcot-international-food-and-wine-festival/

It just takes a bit of clicking on the different sections to find stuff.

The best was the 2015 F&G when you could get the Pineapple Soft-serve (Dolewhip) with either the Macadamia Nut flavored rum or the Coconut rum.

This will be our first time at the Food and Wine Festival. Is there a plan of attack for walk around the World Showcase?

Most people look at the menus in advance to get an idea of what they might want. If going for more than one day, they will start day one in one direction, stopping at the booths they have decided they want then day 2 go the opposite direction. I like living on the edge and try to get something from every booth, I'm usually there for at least 4 days and spend the majority of the afternoon early evening at F&W. I just randomly go either left or right, get something from a booth and walk around munching on that until I'm done and ready for whatever booth I come to next. This method does require walking around WS a number of times but since I'm there for F&W, doesn't bother me. I also go to a food demo and wine tasting at the Festival Center every day so that breaks it up.
