2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Someone mentioned a TIW event brochure. How do you get it? I have TIW but don't get emails or anything sent to me. Am I missing out?

You have to sign up to receive emails. Go to their website and scroll to the bottom - there are instructions. Basically have to send your TiW # and some other info. They do a few events a year.

It has always started the first Monday of the festival in the past. I expect it would not be offered until 9/20 so you could get a full week. Otherwise you would just be able to use it for 2 days the week of 9/14:)

Thanks. That was what I suspected but was hoping for a different answer. But thanks.

I went to the Raglan Dinner last year, a difficult booking as many "regulars" are already on the list before the booking date. We had a terrific time and the wine flowed freely...more wine poured than any F&W event we've attended..
Thank you!!

When entering FFMT will ask if you have any allergies or aversions to any foods. [/QUOTE]

Thanks for mentioning this, that's very helpful! My wife has a food allergy and I'd assumed the set meals wouldn't be willing to do any accommodation. Good to know that maybe they would. I looooove French food.

They were very good about asking. As we walked in we were told even if it was just not liking a certain type of food they could help us. They also were much more accomondating then the festival center to the fact I don't drink.

Had no idea, thank you so very much!

I didn't realize you had to do this separately, either! Just sent my info in. Thank you 2xcited2sleep for the heads up, and Lauralaylin for asking the question!

I have a question about this one...."The Parisian Afternoon, Sandwiches, Macarons and Bubbles! - Relax and recharge with an assortment of finger sandwiches and savory mignardises, followed by an assortment of petits fours and macarons, all with unlimited mimosas." My DD11 would like me to take her to this event. She considers herself a "foodie" and macarons are one of her favorite things to make and eat. I'm just not sure if this is a "kid-friendly" event...not that it isn't geared towards kids (I assume it's not), but I just want to make sure that it wouldn't be "frowned upon" to bring an 11-year old.

I see no reason an 11 year old could not go, but be forewarned, the bubbly flows freely and some do get a bit tipsy. Here is Mikka's review from last year's event. http://www.disboards.com/threads/mi...ctures-updated-4-12-teppen-edo.3456272/page-4 It should be post #69 on this page.

At least 80% of the restaurant was tipsy and loud by the end. I didn't bring my kids and wouldn't have particularly enjoyed having been seated with somebody else's kid at my table of treats and booze, but I wouldn't have changed my behavior either. It's an adult event.

Thanks for the input. My kids have both been to several events where alcohol flows freely. I'm referring to family and close friends who hosted pool parties and the like, it's not like we've taken them to the bar:rotfl2:. They have seen adults act the fool:crazy: and either ignore it or enjoy a good laugh. Heck, they've seen me get tipsy before, but I typically only imbibe to excess about twice a year. For the most part, we don't let the behavior of others effect our experience. I don't think others being drunk will bother her at all...she'd probably encourage them:teeth:.

I feel similarly about this.

And we haven't seen nearly as many "tipsy" people at the F&W events as we've seen just walking around World Showcase during F&W (and even other times)! I wouldn't worry about this AT ALL.

And they're not "adult events" unless Disney restricts the age. Period.

My husband and I don't have kids, so we *should* be squarely in the "ugh, I don't want to deal with kids at my adult-oriented F&W Festival event" category of people.

But I just don't mind all that much. Parents tend to know their kids pretty well and I trust their decisions about whether to bring their kid to an event. I'm going to enjoy my time and can't really be bothered to worry about how a theoretical kid might affect the event.

And, for the record (just like @MickeyMinnieMom) we've never seen the hordes of drunken buffoons at F&W that others claim have invaded the event in recent years. We've spent about eight weeks at F&W in the past five years, so it's not a small sample size, either.

I rarely see kids at these events. I think it's probably the cost. . I remember watching one kid at PFTS Who sat on the floor and colored. Considering what his parents paid I was a little shocked but it was their money.

I have seen a couple of parents have meltdowns when they just showed up with junior and assumed they will be allowed to bring them for free. That does not happen. There was a couple at one of the Mexico lunches last year where he did not get to come because they could not bring in their 3 year old for free and the event was sold out. They made a scene and she attempted to carry it into lunch until another guest basically told her "we don't care".

Some events did restrict age, I remember being told when i booked one and they made sure my entire party was over 21. I cannot remember which this was though.

There's obviously going to be variability here, as with anything. When our kids were 9 and 7 they came to PFTS and LOVED it!! They ate up the whole atmosphere, and DS9 ate more than I did!

And as you said, it's their money. If they'd rather bring their well behaved kids to the event with them rather than pay for a sitter, that's obviously their prerogative!

The Parisian breakfast sounds amazing, and I see now on the website that one of the "select Saturdays" falls during our trip! The time is 9:00-10:30. If the park opens at 9 that day, will we be allowed to enter early to make it to France on time?
