Can someone please tell me how much the iconic Mickey Mouse balloons costs on Main Street in MK? The clear balloon that has the colored Mickey balloon inside the balloon.

Also do street vendors only accept cash? Or can we charge to Magic Bands?

I, unfortunately, found out the hard way that it was cash only when I was there in September. We waited for 10+ minutes while the families in front of us purchased balloons and I didn't pay any attention..my son spent the time picking out his color--and then OOPS! CASH ONLY! Omg the look on my son's face...I wanted to melt..ran to get cash and turned his frown upside down!

Won't make that same mistake again!

The mickey ice cream street vendors did accept the magic band.

The ballon handlers don't have any scanners on them and are walking about so it's cash only.

How long do these last?

How long do these last?
So we got ours on our second day.. Did 9 nights at WDW, 1 night Boca Raton, 6 nights Key West, and then one more night in Orlando to do Old Town before we flew home out of MCO. That darn balloon was with us the ENTIRE time. The ONLY reason my son let it go was when I explained to him that we couldn't take it thru security.

He gave it to a random kid at the airport.lol

I was able to buy a balloon for my son without cash on our trip in November. There's a little side street off of Main Street in MK where there's some carts setup. I think the one was selling pictures of silhouettes, and I paid there for the balloon and took the paid ticket to the balloon guy for proof of payment. We got the one with the colored Mickey balloon inside the clear balloon and it lasted at least 2 months. I think it was $12 for that one but not positive.

ETA I couldn't stand the thought of leaving it behind because my son was so attached to it so I unloaded our checked suitcase and stuffed the balloon in it. My husband wasn't impressed lol but it made it home! I can only imagine what security thought when they saw the barely able to be zipped suitcase that hardly weighed anything.

We drive so we take the balloon home and it lasted months. To take it home I wrap the sting around something to hold it close to the floor out of the way. After months I finally cut the clear outside part off and the color Mickey on the inside was still flying high.

Wow! We have a Kylo Ren balloon right now...one of those giant ones that glide across the floor (from son's bday party 4/16), it's still going strong and I keep thinking of ways that I could possibly pop it...accidentally on purpose, ya know ;)

lol. So on one hand, I really want to avoid buying one for longevity reasons. On the other hand, I really want to buy my kids one next time... for longevity reasons, lol. Somehow I don't mind spending $12-15 for a balloon if it's going to last that long!

We had a Christmas one (with the Mickey head inside of it) and a square star wars one from right before Christmas. The Christmas one lasted probably a month or so, but the star wars one finally wouldn't stay up anymore a couple of weeks ago!

For the first time, I actually brought the balloons into another park the next day. It was a bit of pain getting them on the bus, but it was great having them at the park attached to our stroller. Made it much easier to find!

I didn't realize it was cash only. Good to know. I'll be sure to carry cash so we can get one. It's a must have!

Is there a trick to deflate these balloons so they can be saved and reinflated later? Or are they a one-time only deal. Maybe I should bring an extra empty suitcase for my girls to take one home...haha!

Just a tip-the CMs at the front desk of your resort are able to deflate them for you :) You just can't blow them back up though.
