2016 Adventures by Disney trip gift?

I don't really care what we get. I would just like our trip to be confirmed. This constant not knowing if the trip is even going is really frustrating.

Your trip hasn't been guaranteed, Cinderella? When and where is it? Has ABD actually said it's not confirmed?

September 16 departure in Central Europe. Haven't heard anything about whether or not it's confirmed. Funny thing is, we're booked for SE Asia with another company for February 2017 and we just got notified that it's confirmed to go 8 months out and to go ahead and book flights. ABD can't even notify us if we're confirmed to go and we're almost 3 months out.

If you look on the Dreams Unlimited site, it's listed as guaranteed:

  • Aug 19-Aug 27, 2016
  • Sep 9-Sep 17, 2016: Adult Exclusive (18 and older)
  • Sep 16-Sep 24, 2016*: Adult Exclusive (18 and older)

Unfortunately, ABD is not going to send you a notification that it's guaranteed. You have to ask. (Or get it from a TA).

Sayhello

Just got ours and even though it says there should be an iPad case in there (the booklet lists all the items), we didn't get them. We have children booked. I may call.

Our box arrived last week and we received: document holder, laundry bag, luggage straps, luggage tags and backpack. No iPad holder for us either.

Let us know what they say if / when you call.

Just called, and although this makes no sense & they have it on the list of included materials in the booklet, the iPad case is for kids. I have kids on my reservations, but at 16 & 19 they are above the age limit. I didn't write it down, but I want to say it was 8-13 or something silly like that. For a tablet? Shouldn't that be for the adults and older kids, LOL? Anyway, I told her to pass on that i would much rather have an iPad case than the useless, bulky, and heavy document holder :)

I called and was told that I should have received the "child's iPad case". Since dd just turned 14 I guess the age limit 15. They are having one sent that should be here by the time we leave. I don't have any use for the document holder -- they sit in my closet gathering dust. Way too bulky and heavy to even consider taking on an overseas trip (or any trip for that matter) with me.

Us, too! I finally got rid of three of them last year. My son still has one in his drawer somewhere, lol. I wish they'd do hats again.

Camille from ABD just called me. She apologized for her error - apparently the iPad cases are for Jr. Adventurers from 4 - 11 years of age. Strange thing is that I thought the minimum age was 6 but I didn't see any point in bringing this up. So no iPad case for us. They really ought to change the pre-trip guide to say the iPad case is only for kids.

Has anyone completed an ABD recently? Just wondering if they still give the foldable duffle bag, thanks.

We returned from Cowboys & Canyons on June 1, and the folding duffel bag was in our room our first night.

I would have loved an iPad case instead of the document holder, which sat in our home the entire trip.

Ours arrived today. So stinkin' exciting. We had to FaceTime with DH so we could open them. We got two boxes. (Because we are on two separate reservations?) Kids claimed the backpacks immediately! I really like the luggage tags and straps. No iPad case in either box but a document holder in each! At fist DD though it was a little purse - how sad she was.
Our booklet reads "The Gift Collection is unique to your party. It may vary from fellow travelers and could include:" so I'm not sure if I should call or not to ask about the iPad cases. I use the one we got in 2014 which is brown and lime green. A blue and gold one would be cool.

So, I realized while we were on our ABD this week that we did not get one of the canvas drawstring backpacks. We did get the big backpack and the nylon drawstring bag for dirty clothes. But, I'd much rather have the canvas drawstring backpack than (another) iPad holder. I'm assuming it was for the older kids, which is why we didn't get one. Anyone interested in trading? Seriously...we can't seem to have enough of those drawstring backpacks!

We did not get the drawstring backpack either, and would love to have it. Does anyone know what age/group it is for? Wondering if it worth calling to try and get one. DD is 11. We like the iPad case - we just put the 2014 brown/green one in the goodwill box!

The family that had one on our trip had three kids, one was about my son's age (11), another was 13, and the third was 16 or 17. I'm wondering it is intended to be for the older kids, instead of the iPad case.

And, yes, we got the foldable duffle bag when we arrived at our first hotel.

We did not get the drawstring backpack either and have ages 12 and 14 (turning 15 on trip). i agree with WDW Groupie they should put something in the guide.

I wonder if there is a way to opt out of the document holder. I can't even think of another use for them.
