Pete mentioned a new take on the 7 in 7 for 2016. I love love love these and am looking forward to whatever it may be. Perhaps a similar take to Disneyland where they did the parks?

1. MK
2. Epcot
3. DHS
4. AK
5. DS
6. Water parks
7. ???

Any other guesses what it could be?

I'd like a combine for each park/resort. Here is an example off the top of my head:

Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom
Beach Club and Epcot
Animal Kingdom Lodge and Animal Kingdom
Boardwalk and MGM Studios
Pop Century and Blizzard Beach
Saratoga Springs and Disney Springs

You get the idea, a resort with a park or attraction nearby. A lot of this has been done before, but there is so much to cover. For instance my love of the Beach club (villas mainly) because of the access to epcot. I never rode a bus that entire stay. We could walk through Epcot and hop on the monorail or take the Friendship to MGM, though we never made it to AK.

I love the 7 in 7's, but I don't need the videos as much as the host's opinions. I would rather hear how they felt about the resort as a whole than see the lobby, mainly because the pics don't do them justice. How was the food court at the Beach Club? I can't tell you because I never ate there, I was too close to the France pavilion, and thats why I loved the place.

The videos are a nice reminder or overview of the resort, however you can't really get a feel for a place from a video. You really need people you can trust to give their overview. For instance, I love the Beach Club Villas, the 7 in 7 didn't give it such hicg marks. I ignored them and went back...only to argree about things. The video of Wilderness Lodge looked great, and it was a great place, but the video of the Beach club looked great and I hated every penny I spent on it.

On the TV Stacey is hot, in person...well not so much. My point was that I respect the teams thoughts and opinions on a resort over what the camera shows me.

I'd love to see a re-do of CBR now that the room renovation is complete. It would be interesting/helpful to also get a hard look at the CBRs transportation (possibly compare/contrast with another mod) to see just how much time it takes to get to the parks. Always good to balance the pros and cons at any resort before booking. I was booked for CBR last Jan but changed to AS Music because I had such an early international departure and the thought of figuring out how to get to the Magical Express stop for a 3am airport pickup was too much for me. I knew I would worry about it for my entire vacation and it just wasn't worth it. CBR is a gorgeous property but very spread out and mega deserted at 3am for a solo guest to be wheeling her luggage on her lonesome along the pathways and roads. Or waiting in front of the room/building for a golf cart shuttle that may or may not show up in time for ME pickup.

I'd also like to get another review of one of the All Stars. The POP is a pretty much known creature at this point (and I like it for what it provides at the price point). Still lots of debate about the busing at the All Stars and the "do they share a bus, do they not share a bus" cycle. When I was at AS Music last Jan, busing was definitely shared and not in a good way. I resolved to stick with the POP for its much more efficient system.

Always been curious about the Tree House Villas at Saratoga Springs. Guessing these are DVC properties. Are they available to rent? Are they worth it? What do they look like inside? What kind of river views do you get? Is it convenient to transpo? I don't know that these are pressing questions for anyone, but definitely off the beaten track. I've always imagined more intrepid celebrities who were "so over" the Contemporary and GF deciding to rough it in a Tree House just for the seclusion and privacy. Maybe I have an overactive imagination? :-)

Thought I'd update my own post to let you know that I just found Pete's review of the Tree House Villas done June 2009. Just google "tree house villas saratoga springs dis unplugged" and you should find it easily. After reading it, I get why it hasn't been re-reviewed. $$ and challenging transportation. Amongst other issues.

I love the hosts opinions as well, but I do really like the overview videos. I tend to watch them repeatedly :D

I wish the overview videos had an element of a news broadcast, in terms of, someone is in the shot talking about their surroundings. I know that's a lot of extra work, but it would be good.
I've barely watched the overview videos because I like the reviews to hear what the resort is like, the videos are gorgeous, but don't give me any new info that I haven't seen in photos.

ps... who is Stacey?

I took Pete's statement that they wouldn't literally be doing 7 resorts in 7 days as in the past as it was too tiring - so would be spread out over more time.

I like the idea of doing a resort in each park area. Or perhaps doing more resorts at different price levels

Oh, and Stacy is the woman on the resort TV' that gives you her "must dos"

They've covered all the resorts not, except maybe one of the DVC, Saratoga I think?
It's just that there's so many deluded, that by the third round, that's all they had left!

ps... who is Stacey?
Stacey is an actor in their promotional videos. Years ago, she appeared in the annual Disney Vacation DVD that North Americans could have shipped to home to watch a "fun" overview of the WDW parks. In the DVD, she was joined by a cross-section of actors representing different ages/demographics. There was a "cool" teenage boy who wanted to ride roller coasters, a woman representing Moms who highlighted the small childrens attractions and a stodgy middle-aged man who wanted to sit on the park benches & just soak it all in & nosh on park food. A few years ago, WDW dropped all the other actors and just signed Stacey. Stacey now plays pretty much non-stop in a loop on one of the Disney info channels in the resort rooms. She is perky. Really perky. Like non-stop perky. o_O

7 in 7 signature resturants
This would be wonderful. Great idea! I'd love a frank, no-frills update of some of the signatures. Cali Grill has had a number of recent poor reviews on the Boards so that would be interesting. Same with Brown Derby at HS. And some recent dining reviews of Narcoossee's suggest it has really upped its game. Citricos is one that we don't hear much about. Jiko seems to be a perennial fav. Yachtsman also seems to be consistent. Monsieur Paul flies under the radar and we don't hear much about it on the Boards. And Le Cellier, well, more yikes than likes. Flying Fish is undergoing a remodel so am curious to see if that also means a change up to the menu as well. Probably and not all guests will be happy about losing old favourites. The new signature in AK "Tiffins" will also be of interest to many but don't think it is scheduled to open until later in 2016. If the DIS doesn't run with this idea, CampbellzSoup you do it! We'll all live vicariously through your reviews. Can crowdfunding work for this project? :P

My wife and I are huge fans of the 7 in 7's. Last winter the team really hit the deluxe resorts, other than Animal Kingdom Lodge. For the upcoming 7in7's I'd like to see the following:

1. Animal Kingdom Lodge/Villas
2. Saratoga Springs (missed in 2015)
5. Port Orleans Riverside (maybe do FQ too)
6. Coranado Springs
7. Caribbean Beach
3. All Stars (don't need all three in my mind...but :) )
4. Pop Century (and/or Art of Animation)

I do appreciate how difficult it must be doing 7 resorts is 7 straight days. I'm hoping Pete breaks the 7 days up over 2 or 3 weeks..........doing 2 or 3 a week. Or how about this.........each member of the team takes a resort and they do them all in ONE DAY! Ahhhhh that may be difficult..............:P

You could do a park/hotel grouping by adding the Contemporary to the list. It could look like this:

1. MK/Contemporary Resort
2. AK/Animal Kingdom Lodge
3. HS/Swan & Dolphin (even tho they aren't Disney hotels directly)
4. Epcot/Caribbean Beach
5. Disney Springs/Saratoga Springs.

I'm not really sure how this would work from a podcast perspective? What would the premise really be?

Anyway...................as I said before I really do like the 7 in 7's. I continue to hold out for John and Kevin to do a 7 in 7 for resturaunts........maybe someday! :)

Doug :goofy:

:)

Only deal is you'd have to do it with me as their is no way I can eat all that food! - Princess Jes is coming too :p

I also suggested holiday 7 in 7 where they take a tour of reorts that go all out for Christmas decor and make people want to travel during the holidays.

Umm, it may sound odd, but I like the idea of vacationers, especially from far off places, chiming in with reviews. I know what Kevin and Pete think of Brown Derby. but an Aussie's opinion might be interesting, assuming she didn't fangirl all over John.

Much Like the Star Wars lunch thing, this might be a great thing to auction off for GKTW. You pay $300 and eat with some of the podcast team, then add your 2 cents on skype. I mean, You spend $150 for two people at any signature dining, Who wouldn't pay more to do it with Kevin and John, or better yet Tess and Hans?

Guys, id LOVEA to do that!

To be honest, I'm surprised they haven't had listeners on the show via skype (on the segment show for example) and maybe done the trip planning bits like the DL team does.
That would have been a great way to get us involved.

Maybe I should pitch this idea to JL and Teresa for an international traveller coming over, they can help with advise etc, and I could pop into the show every so often for updates.
