2015 Villain’s Sinister Soiree

I really wish they'd just hurry up and announce the thing.

I guess in the meantime I'll keep watering my money tree in hopes that I can pay for all of this holiday awesomeness.

Le sigh.

At least the "party within a party" concept gives Disney discernable limits. It tried the whole Villains party as a separate event at DHS and failed, miserably.
I'm not too familiar with the specifics of the DHS event, but I have heard nothing but horror stories about that. I was thinking more along the lines of literally *just* the Villains soiree in another restaurant (NOT in the MK)... along the lines of Character Dining.

I wouldn't care if they kept it in the MK, But I DO care when that means that those who don't/can't attend lose out on Characters - one of the draws of the party to begin with.

I was especially disappointed when last year it was announced that instead of princes, we'd get the villains with their respective princess...and then THAT was pulled.

I talked to a CL BWI CM today and was told that the CM's have been told that there is a party happening this year, but Disney has not released the times, dates or costs yet. They have my CC on file and said that they would book my party for me once the info is released.

I am nervous about that, so I will keep my eye on this thread and make sure I get booked :)

I put WAY more stock in this intel than I do to what any phone CM has to say. This is promising.

:ccat:I agree that it is frustrating that they have you make all of your reservations so far in advance and yet things like this are not released until right before. OCD planner in me gets frustrated. :scared:

I agree. We're attending a party with a 2-year old, no way will we be attending any kind of event within MNSSHP. I don't mind Disney wants to add that, but don't take away from the regular party, add something new.

I also hate that this was/is an add-on on top of the party ticket. I kind of wish this was it's own separate thing, not happening at MK during MNSSHP... perhaps at one of the resorts or one of the other parks. I'd definitely pay to do two separate events, but not one on top of the other.

I don't want them separate because I am mostly looking to do it for the reserved viewing of the parade/fireworks.
I do feel a little forced into it by them taking villians from the party though.....

Would you be willing to pay (a lesser amount) for just reserved viewing for those two things?
I'm sure there are people who would also be willing to pay for just the reserved viewing and wouldn't care about the soiree.
They could include a Party ticket option/price that would include the reserved viewing.

Disney could make money from that AND having the soiree at another location... they'd still get (even more) money. those who don't want to spend the money on top of the party ticket, still get to experience the parade and fireworks without missing out on anything by NOT paying for anything on top of the party ticket.

I guess this whole idea of taking things away from the party just *really* has me annoyed. Now they could charge for three separate things and one of them (reserved viewing) wouldn't cost them anything.

:) Yes I would, for us we will be doing 1 MNSSHP, we have pulled our oldest out of school to visit this time of year and that won't be happening again so I want to make the most of it. With 3 little ones I hate the long wait for a good spot for the parade so yes would gladly pay something for it (in fact would rather it than the soriee) as long as they don't put some villians exclusively for the soriee.
One of the things I think they did poorly last year (and to a point this year although now we have a somewhat "historical" expectation) is that they didn't announce it when the MNSSHP went on sale, people buying the MNSSHP tickets had every expectation that these villians would be available as normal and some may have chosen not to spend the money on the party if this had been originally announced. For us we are hitting the party for )The Villians meet and Greets, 2) the Fireworks, 3) The parade and 4) the trick or treating

I called this morning and spoke to one of the phone CM's. She said the Villain's Sinister Soiree wasn't happening this year, but there was going to be a Hallowishes Dessert Party. She at first said to call back in about a week, but when I said, "Call back next Friday?" she said, "Hold on, let me look at my calendar... I'd call back Monday if I were you."

So, it's a phone CM, so take that with a grain of salt - but she seemed well-informed, and the fact that she said she mentioned looking at a calendar makes me think it might have a little more validity.

That would be the Aug 17th date someone mentioned before, wonder how much it's going to be and where it will be held, you can't see the parade from tomorrowland terrace right?

Yup, that does it. We'll be calling on Monday morning at opening to see what's what. It would be AWESOME if it were the same, or similar, pricing and location to the Wishes desert party, at Tomorrowland Terrace. Even with no additional character interaction. We wanted to do the Wishes dessert party for our Oct 17th, but missed out on ressies for our party of 6. This would be an AWESOME opportunity for us. :)

Just gotta hunt down the phone number, now....

Well..the Wishes Dessert party was booked using the 407-wdw-dine number. Probably that one?

They open at 7 AM, eastern, I think.

That's a bit of a disappointment for me. Not interested in just a dessert party at Tomorrowland Terrace. I really enjoyed the reserved viewing area last year for parade/fireworks and would pay for that again even without the castle part, which was also awesome. Good luck to all who want to get spots!

I would assume (again, assuming so take that FWIW), that if they do a Hallowishes Dessert Party, it would include the FP viewing areas for the parade and Hallowishes along with the Tommorowland Terrace simply to get as much people (read: money) as possible for this event. And that way the FP viewing areas won't be empty and they can accommodate the most amount of people possible. Just a thought....
