2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Yes ma'am w/ standard dining. My apologies that I did not add that it was after my $200 that I've put down. So in reality it was 1145 vs 1685.
Okay. That makes more sense. I knew the total couldn't be that low. Lol! Just wanted to make sure they didn't do something wrong. Congrats. :)

I think the website traffic may be dying down, it seems to be behaving more like normal now. I was able to configure a package at AS Sports all the way through the payment page a few minutes ago, something I haven't been able to do for the last 3 hours.

Not for me. It was easier to look up a new reservation than try to modify an old one though. Still looping...

Anyone familiar with trip insurance? I didn't add it when I booked through Disney because I have read it's better to go third party. We're driving down so I need something that will cover if we have to cancel because of weather or if one of us gets sick and we need to delay or cancel once we're down there (something like the flu, etc). Anyone got any tips?

Wanted to check dates and pricing at WL - tried twice and it says the server is busy or down for maintenance. Oh well... not planning to go this year but it's fun to dream!

Actually, when I was there in December, it was during a time when "traditionally/historically" crowd levels were rated as LOW...first week/second week...however, they were doing FD then, and the crowds were crazy - especially on the weekends. Everyone I talked to said that they were there at that time because of the Free Dining.

Bottom line - they need to build more resorts...especially once Avatar and Star Wars additions are completed...just my two cents.

I think Avatar is gonna be a huge bust for them

Got a reservation at the CBR about an hour and a half ago and I confirmed it said free dining and now it doesn't have ANY dining package on the email confirmation.

This is really taking the "magic" out of my sails.
Maybe I should just stop stressing on and pay full price. I on,y owe $500 on the pkg any how

I was attempting a new reservation, mainly to see if I could upgrade from QSDP to DDP online during the checkout process. It wouldn't let me so I just continued on to see what would happen. I did use Chrome instead of IE this time around. That shouldn't make a difference but it is the only thing I changed. Could just be luck.

Yeah, and I learned something new... I can do dining plans with my AP, we have always not because we assumed you needed a ticket package..

I have received confirmation from Disney that this is a GLITCH and do not worry. Here is actual email:

No worries! There is a known system challenge happening this morning with confirmation emails relating to the new dining offer. Even though you are booked under the Magic Your Way plus Dining offer (which includes a table-service credit, quick-service credit, and snack per person per night), the confirmation email for Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villa Resorts is incorrectly reading that the Magic Your Way Quick-Service Dining is booked. Your reservation is booked correctly, and once you retrieve your reservation in My Disney Experience®, the site will show the correct dining plan as well.

This exactly. In MDE it shows it correctly but in the email it was listed as "quick service". These anomalies happen especially given the promo and traffic.

I am so angry right now!!!! I've been at this since 6:00 this morning...first trying to modify my reservation online, then calling (trying for an hour and 10 minutes to get through, then another 2 hours on hold), only to get an uninformed cast member! I feel like crying! I am staying at POR, and my check-in date is October 1st. She told me that I could only get free dining for October 1 and 2, because the promotion ends October 2. I've been to Disney four times, and I KNOW that if my check-in dates fall within the right dates, I get free dining for my whole stay....but I couldn't seem to get this point across to her. I also asked about a PIN because I am a Disney Visa card holder, and she couldn't find any. Then I finally asked her about a room discount, and she said there were none available for my dates (but I swear I saw something about fall room discounts this morning). Four and a half hours later, I've got nothing.

We have gotten it when we have booked through our TA. We have never used it but it covers all of this. We get it for the same reason.

I would definitely call back while simultaneously checking the website. I'm sorry ((hugs))

Well I am a little bummed that the December dates turned out to be true. We're doing a cruise before our Disney World stay, so I can't adjust our dates. I was hoping it would start on the 12th like last year. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. We're going to rent DVC points instead. So I am excited to try a deluxe for the first time. Congratulations to everyone that was able to get free dining! I loved having it last year. :)

We stayed in POP last year and LOVED it! I just don't know if we loved it enough to spend an additional $230 on top of the $270 for tickets. I mean, worst case, we don't like Sports as much as POP right? I mean, it won't be terrible either way because it's Disney, right? Please reassure me! lol.
We stayed at Sports last year for the first time and it was better than what I had prepared myself for. The good thing with this resort is that its smaller so the walks were not bad from the rooms to the pool, buses & food court. You are also the first on the buses and the first off the buses, which is a good thing in my opinion.

The only issue I ran into, but it had me upgrade to a Water/Pool View room at CBR for our dates, but my SIL is going the same time and they didnt have to upgrade hers, and we did them at the same time. Either way it still saves us about $700, and I am ok with that!! I think this is the first time I ever woke up on a Monday morning before the alarm ;)

She probably stole the last standard room out from under you, bwahahahaha! Just kidding, still a great score!
