2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Well..now what?

The long wait is on!
Yes! There is a lot of 'hurry up' at the beginning and now we're in the long 'wait' portion. Tick...tock...tick...tock! My only challenge with a September vacation is that I risk wishing my summer away. Trying not to do that this year....but it's not easy!

We are saying the same thing. What we have decided to do is figure out what tips will be for each of our TS and put in an envelopes marked with that restaurant. This way we will have that money already set aside. We will also be making a count down calendar soon so that the kids stop asking me when we are going.

Ooo...I really like the idea of the envelopes! It's surprising how the tips can add up so saving a little each week will make a big difference! Think I'm going to do something similar and start a 'tips' jar on the counter. Each evening I'll empty my change into the jar and I'm sure I'll be surprised how it adds up. LOL - Especially since I'm Canadian and our smallest bill is a $5.00 bill!

I'm also trying desperately not to wish my summer away, it's so hard. We have another trip before Disney and I still can't wait. I'm already surprised how fast this year is passing us by.

I called Monday and got the following confirmation (below). Anyone see a problem? Quick service DP? I called and the call center CM claimed that they received a bulletin that some CSR reservation confirmation incorrectly listed QSDP instead of DDP, but all their systems were down (at 1 P.M., height of the day) and I'd have to call back to get it corrected. Unbelievable.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
December 20 (Sun), 2015 - December 30 (Wed), 2015
Standard View - Business Class
2 Adults, 1 Child (11)
6-Day Ticket with Park Hopper Option
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan (Complimentary)
Includes Airport Transportation

It is fine when you log into MDE it shows up as regular.

I also had to call Disney about our trip in 2 weeks. 20 minutes on hold but almost 45 minutes of CM time so I cannot complain. I put in my Area request at that time and the CM went over the reservation with me. Showing the regular DP.

Well..now what?
Are you 1) planning on any hard ticket parties like MNSSHP (Halloween Party) or the Christmas Party? If so, you may consider whether you wish to purchase in advance. There are pros and cons (some dates sell out quickly ie by June) but believe the $ is nonrefundable and possibly you can't switch dates once purchased. Perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I've purchased mine for the MNSSHP as I've never been before & my date is very close to Halloween so worried it would definitely sell-out before I was on site. I've never been to either party but thought if I was going to do one, MNSSHP would be it! 2) I'm waiting to see if they extend the BOG breakfast trial into the Fall. If so (and right now if they don't change it), I believe you can book QS breakfast at 90 days out and 3) I am really excited about the new Skippers Cantina (Jungle Cruise themed restaurant) coming to MK perhaps as early as mid Fall. I've already decided which dinner ressie to drop in its favour just in case the new place is up and running when I'm there! Gotta luv planning! :-)

Was able to get all our ADRs this morning including be our guest! I am so excited for all the yummy Disney world food!:goofy:

The earliest sellout for MNSSHP was Aug 21, and that was for Halloween night. Tickets are nonrefundable and date specific. There have been a few reports of being able to switch dates (several months out), but officially you cannot.

If anyone is heading to MNSSHP, head on over to my guest list thread. You can find links to past threads, instructions for being added to the list, and basic info in post 1, and some of my past party pics in post 2. Here is the link...

I am tempted to see what the Coronado special offer is that Magical Vacations Travel is advertising but I do NOT want to be at the mercy of a TA for all of my ADR's or anything. Anyone know what the offer is?

TA's do not have to book your ADR's or Fast passes. I used a TA to book my trip and then I do all of the other planning myself. I can't give up the control. Plus I am always looking at ADR's and I have switched mine several time.

I got a quote for CBR standard room for the same dates I am currently going. It also had the 4 day tickets, no hopper and the Disney Dining Plan. It was roughly $200-$250 more than the Free dining offer through Disney. You would also have hoppers through Disney.

I have a reservation for Pop pool view right now. We will only be there three nights. It will be myself, DH, and DD17. I can get Coronado preferred room right now for about $300 more. I have stayed at Pop before but never Coronado. So my question is this: Is it worth $300 to stay at Coronado? I have heard mixed reviews. TIA

There in lies my problem. Currently no FD for my dates. As of right now I am in a standard POR for 12 nights and paying for DDP at a total cost of about $5100. I think Im just going to hope for a RO or UOC and stay where im at, and also keep checking for a FD room to open up at one of the Mods.

I bought our MVMCP tickets they day they went on sale. Haha! I was going to wait, but I'm so impatient, I have to do everything RIGHT NOW. Sigh.
Planning is almost as fun as the actual trip. :D

Anyone else get UOC today? Lots of dates for room discount, but looks like the FD is completely the same and same resorts?

Good to know.

I did the same, for MNSSHP & MVMCP. My worry is my MDE was showing the tickets for my DW, DS and me, but now its just showing mine.

We went with Coronado because we would've upgraded to the regular dining plan if we had stayed at Pop. Coronado is a moderate so regular dining is included. We have 4 adult diners. Total price would've been about the same but we decided to try Coronado as we've never stayed there. We usually stay at POP!

I thought you booked something? Did you change your mind? I think its worth it getting a quote. You will still be able to book your own ADR's and FP's!
